Comfy bed, large bathroom, staff good, location excellent as opposite Foregate St station and easy stroll into town. I liked being able to have a swim too.
Street noise and late night corridor conversations disturbed our sleep so take earplugs. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment, lots of good cafés and eateries in the city.
The room looked very old, there was some plastering on the wall that had been painted over but looked shabby, mold all over the shower, carpets fraying. It wasn't an unpleasant stay but the hotel looks old and is in need of some refurbishment, I paid £20 less to stay in a Premier Inn in London and have to say that was more comfortable. I paid £86 for the room which I noted had gone up to £186 by the time I arrived, I would have been really disappointed if I had paid that much for it
Staff lovely and welcoming , hotel large and spacious . Food in restaurant good . Lovely breakfast . Fan in bedroom very welcome . 5 minute walk to Cathedral .
Hotel needs a bit of updating , £12 a night parking too much .
Pleasant service and comfortable beds.
Hot room and noise early each morning from seagulls.
On a very basic level, a hotel is a warm, dry place to sleep. Objective met. Lovely foyer and grand staircase. Gym was a good size and well equipped.
No air conditioning. Window opened on to alley, which let in the cooking smells from the kitchen. Problem seagulls squawked all night, and pooped all down the windows. Needless to say, not a great nights sleep.
