Pros:
The room was large and the internet fast. Hot water in shower came immediately. Great location at the Zocalo but loud if your room faces the Zocalo.
Cons:
The wifi had no password, thus the Wifi connection was not encrypted. Use of VPN necessary. The showers at the pool did not work, chairs were dirty. The ventilation of the hotel was just outside my room, making noise.

Pros:
I had such a great stay here. My room was large, clean, and comfortable, and it looked out over the lively zócalo (main square) toward the Gulf. (There were political rallies, Christmas celebrations, and other events going on while I was there, but the happy noise had all stopped by 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. I never had trouble sleeping.) The wifi worked great. Staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. There is a Sanborn's on the ground floor and a hotel restaurant on the second floor -- which is also where the delightful pool area is to be found. (I had it to myself for the most part.) The hotel, again, is right on the zócalo and close to all of the sights, including the malecón (waterfront esplanade). Many of my favorite places to hang out are steps away, e.g., the Gran Café del Portal and the Cervecería Heroica en Los Portales. Taxis are easy to get to the airport, bus station, and San Juan de Ulúa Fort. City tours leave a couple of blocks away at the start of the malecón. Veracruz is truly an underrated destination, in my opinion. It has a very tropical/Caribbean vibe and so many of the things that tourists look for. At the same time, it is a working port and center of naval operations. I loved the mix and cannot wait to go back.

Pros:
Didn't eat breakfast there.
Cons:
The head front end manager was the most unprofessional manager i have ever ran across. First she made a small situation into a big deal. Stain sheets she yelled at me in public and charged me 500 peisos to have them cleaned. A friend stayed that night got sick diarrhea. He looks gay she had a problem with that.

Pros:
Location
Cons:
We were in town 2 nights for a Funeral. We left early the second day to go the burial and came back at 1pm. Our rooms weren't clean and asked the front desk to please clean them while we were going downstairs to lunch and we were assure of it. Came back 2 hours later and the rooms were still messy. It took them another hour to finally clean them (by 4pm). Then someone they tried to blame it on us because we were in the rooms which was obviously a LIE. Anyway, very disappointed by their service and lack of accountability. I would NOT recommend this Hotel.

Pros:
Location is excellent, two blocks from our favorite restaurant, within walking distance from shopping district, and right in front of the main square, where most nights there's live music and other spectacles. The staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean, even if the rooms are not on par with five star hotels, they were comfortable. The air conditionig equipment, especially, was whisper quiet (i had to put my ear next to the grill to make sure it was working),Location is excellent, two blocks from our favorite restaurant, within walking distance from shopping district, and right in front of the main square, where most nights there's live music and other spectacles. Cons:
.the first night we checked in Very late, at around 22:30, and were given a "Siberia" room, I guess the only ones available at the time. Room 303 is right next to the water cooling towers, and we spent the night with a horrible fan engine noise. We were so tired we were asleep in no time, but my wife had a hard time sleeping, beng the most sensitive of the group. We asked to be moved in the morning and the reception lady was very apologetic and told us the hotel was full, but she would definitey have a room after check out time. She was good on her word and moved us to aother room, facing the street and high enough that the noise was non-existent. The other thing we found lcking was the internet service. The first night our devices didn't detect any signal at all, so we thought there was no internet access. When i mentioned it the next morning, the front desk lady told us that indeed they had wireless Internet and gave me the password. On the new room we could find the wireless signal and connected right away. Alas, the service turned out to be very slow, almost unusable.
