The hotel is located in Moreno which is outside Venice, we didn’t know that since on the hotel address it says Morano, Venice. Morano is basically in island with no transportation in it. Very boring and there is nothing to do there, plus the transfer to and back from Venice gets really complicated and confusing at night.
Everything was fine. We had a nice time. Experienced things we wouldn’t have if we’d stayed in Venice. Hotel reception was good. Convenient having a mini fridge in the room but would have loved a kettle for cuppas. Around the corner is an awesome little deli ‘Marcato’ and an awesome ‘Murano Gelato’ shop close by too.
Staying on Murano was a cheaper option than Venice, but vaperetto (water bus) tickets were more expensive than we thought and there’s limited options for cafes/restaurants, although the daily boat trip was lovely. We were in a double room in the extra building of the hotel which was fine, had air conditioning and roller shutters for a comfortable sleep. Room had a couple issues but reception sorted them out promptly for us. Keep in mind there’s no elevator (like much of Italy)
Solid value away from the crowds. Nice breakfast setting. Excellent restaurant right across the foot bridge.
The weather was hot and the room didn't seem to cool down adequately. Minor problem with shower door, and toilet was a bit wobbly.
The location...Murano is quite beautiful, however after 18:00 it turns into ghost town...very quiet environment and a top docking station for visiting Venice and the islands, about the hotel: we are not difficult persons but in this case we are sorry but no positive comments, however we can only judge the room price range around €70/night...the hotel consist out of different old buildings with rooms that were updated to be hotel rooms...the only positive thing I have to post is concerning Kristina, the night receptionist who was always very kindly answering our demands and making them happen...so thanks again Kristina....
The first impression was the smell of humidity, not fresh at all...when we checked in we were guided to kind of an attic room only reachable by stairs and spiral staircase and I must admit that during this trip booking different hotels we had to ask twice for rearranging another room because the original didn't resemble what we applied for...so also in this case we asked for another room and we got it but it was not better: both bathrooms were claustrophobic and facilities showed traces of fungus, the bathroom door showed water damage and could hardly be closed using lifting power...TV was poor quality, first two days we had no soap or shampoo...the woman in the breakfast room was very unfriendly and almost throw with cups and plates when we arrived last moment for a cup of coffee...I cannot advice this hotel for people of a certain age and with less mobility...we are very sorry to review like this but we didn't have the impression we were welcome in that place.....
Stayed in room 501 could hear the room next to us change their minds. Walls are super thin if they unlocked their door it sounded like they are trying to come into your room. Room we stayed in didn’t look anything like the pictures super small
