The public rooms (lobby , restaurant) were beautiful and the location near Salute wasn't bad.
Sadly my companion and I did not enjoy our stay mainly due to the staff. Checking in took about half an hour, because the receptionist always tended to other guests first - although we've been waiting in line a lot longer than others. I also never had to experience waiting in line for 20 minutes just to get a table for breakfast although there was a garden and additional, empty tables outside, where we were not allowed to sit at. The breakfast staff seemed overchallenged as there was no bread, no water, no juice and no cutlery either, just like glasses, napkins etc. that were missing on the tables. Upon being questioned which hot drinks we would like my companion got her coffee as requested, I however got one too instead of hot water for tea, which I asked for. There should have been a safe in the room as well, but there wasn't. Instead we had a small TV hidden behind thick curtains, which did not stay out of the way after moving, however there wasn't even a remote control in first place. The room itself was tiny like a cell, we couldn't even open both our suitcases at the same time. The shower bar was broken and moving and the entire roomed reeked. The AC was the only good thing but we fear that was the origin of the awful smell... Unfortunately we cannot recommend this hotel at all.
Breakfast fine, though the coffee machine could be reset to pour larger quantities. Evening meal fine.
Rooms much smaller than website suggested. All floors carpeted, all walls wallpapered, a real firetrap (granted you are surrounded by water). Website photographs amazing, reality was not. Also, a lot of mosquitos, though I guess everywhere in Venice the same.
The property was in a good location and I particularly liked that it was close to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The area is also quiet and away from the hustle bustle.
The twin room we were allocated was dark and small and smelled of bleach throughout our 2 night stay. The walls were very thin and it was difficult to get a good nights sleep as we kept being woken by loud voices, bangs and thuds from other guests in neighbouring rooms or upstairs. It’s not the fault of the hotel but I didn’t notice any signs asking guests to be quiet and considerate at night, ideally after 10pm.
The room in which we were staying had bugs and the AC was not working either. We checked out early because we got sick and had to go to the dr and we got some tablets. We had very bad experience!
