Location is perfect. Close to transport, shops, restourants and sights. The area is very quiet. The room was small but perfectly fine for one guest. Food was nothing special but still good. The staff was friendly and helpful but not always available.
Venice was stricken by floods during my travel, of course I got soaked and it was a pity that there was no towel dryer in the bathroom and I couldn't dry my clothes properly. The bathroom itself was very cold. Also the shower is very small, I have bruises on my elbows because I hit the tap every time I tried to turn around) There was a problem with a TV in my room. For some reason it turned on during my first night at 3am and scared the hell out of me) The next night it happened again so I unplugged it.
We had to go to another hotel for breakfast but this was nice
Inside and out was very run down, dark and dingey. Bed was not comfy, tiny tiny room
Breakfast is served in the sister hotel (Hotel Bella Arti) which is across the road. The food there was very good and there was plenty of it. The hotel is about 150-200m from Ponte dell'Accademia and so it is only a 10-15mins walk to Piazza San Marco. It is also
My room was bijou. I was only staying for 1 night as I was meeting my son who lives in Venice and we were then heading out to see other parts of the region. If I was staying longer then I would have wanted a larger room
What I liked most was the quiet neighborhood of Dorsoduro and the fact that there was public transport (to all directions) just around the corner. Also the hotel staff, especially the people in charge of breakfast, had been very engaged and helpful.
The room was rather small, and the walls appeared to be made out of paper. Breakfast was rather average and the breakfast area way too small and noisy - since I travelled in autumn, it was too chilly to have breakfast outside on the terrace.
