Very authentic and with lots of lovely details
Cute, funky place, easy to get to. Right by the freeway but surprisingly not noisy. Had a saltwater pool, which was a nice touch, but didn't bring suits and the weather was rainy. Exceptionally nice staff at the wine bar! Getting a free bar token so we could have a glass or beer or wine our first night was nice after a long day of driving. They had a freezer chest with tamales from a local company for snacks (and a microwave to cook them), so that made a nice casual dinner one night so we didn't have to go out in the rain to find food.
The breakfast consists of oatmeal with several topping choices, sugary pop tarts, fruit punch, fruit (apples and oranges) and tea/coffee. Oatmeal is absolutely not my breakfast of choice, but was OK for the two days we were there.
Good location for travels between MX & points north. Fun decor & helpful staff. Great AZ wines -first glass free. I loved the 1960’s Arizona Highways & Handiman magazines in the rooms!
Nothing to complain about or improve.
Staff and general ethos of the hotel.
Very noisy air-conditioning unit in my room. Either sweltering hot in my room or cool with a loud a/c unit, which made sleep difficult. Very limited space to store clothes, fine for a short stay would be a problem for a long stay.
The hotel is a great concept and the property is pretty cool. Rooms are a decent size for an older motel style and had everything we needed. Having an outdoor area to relax in was nice. The bed was fine but definitely not anything to get excited over.
The oatmeal breakfast bar is good but it seems insufficient to be called breakfast. The room was clean and tidy but our feet after a night of walking around the room one evening after showering indicated that the floors could use attention.
Located in the ideal spot for visiting restaurants and tourist attractions in Tucson, Hotel McCoy is a hidden little gem of a hotel that is tucked away in a serene neighborhood. While it may be located in a quieter spot, that doesn't mean it is lacking in amenities. Hotel McCoy has an outdoor theatre, retro pool, and displays plenty of local art. There is a small gym and a firepit for socializing. Guests can enjoy local beer and wine tastings, and there is a complimentary breakfast each morning that features the "world's longest oatmeal bar."
Guests can park directly in front of the door to their rooms which have wood ceilings and exposed beams. The art dotting the walls are licensed pieces from the Tucson artist Andrew Burgess. There are retro and mid-century modern pieces to decorate the space, and the green tea memory foam mattress is plush and comfortable. The organic linens and fluffy pillows polish off the bed ensemble. Visitors will remain in comfort because each room is fully air-conditioned. Larger parties can rent connected rooms. The rooms come with various bed options including king-sized beds, twin bunk beds, and dual double beds.
Large HD TVs hooked up with Roku boxes can be found in each of the rooms, and there are also work stations to help those that are not in town for pleasure. The bathrooms are stocked with all-natural toiletries, and American Eat Co offers room service without any extra fees.
There are plenty of things to enjoy nearby including biking and walking trails.
