The location is great and the view is exceptional.
Room, views, restaurant, amenities and friendly staff!
Location can be an issue for walkers as alteast 20 min away from Fira town, specially during winter.
The view was great! Stuff were very friendly!
The only unpleasant thing happened was that both my mum and mother in law their cash was stolen during the stay, which they were pretty sure! And I did report this to the hotel manager, but so far there was no reply at all!
The staff was amazing and the in-house restaurant food was great! They were extremely accommodating and helpful and to top it off, the view was just incredible! My wife and I went there for our honeymoon in October and the sunset was centered from the hotel. Also, there's a mini-market right across the street so it was easy to grab snacks or drinks throughout the day. Would highly recommend!
There is no elevator so this may not be the most suitable for handicapped individuals, although perhaps you could request a room closest to the upper level. Not really much negatives for this hotel, my wife and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
Truly beautiful property built into the side of the cliff with amazing views of the caldera. We couldn't get enough of that view. The hotel is quite big but the rooms and balconies feel private enough. The room was spacious with large living room section and a small bedroom with balcony door just in front of the bed for a spectacular view when you wake up. The bathroom had jacuzzi and was very nicely decorated and spacious. There was a bar at the lower pool though it closed quite early so we couldn't use it as much as we'd like. But it was there and if we stayed longer we'd probably use it throughout the day while lounging at the beautiful open area. There are at least two swimming pools that we've found and they are lovely. Breakfast was very good with large variety of items to suit most tastes. The reception staff were helpful and the checkin process hassle free and quick.
A few negatives. The aforementioned reception staff, though helpful, were on autopilot - at check-in they quickly recite terms, conditions and bombard you with information that is impossible to retain. We had to check the booklets once again for all the details like breakfast, shuttle, checkout etc. Way too long monologue and didn't feel as genuine or personal as you'd expect from this type of property. Instead of making us feel welcome we felt like just another of a 100 people they may have dealt with that day. A number in the book if you will. We felt a lot more welcome at all other, small hotels we stayed in around Cyclades. Then the room features were not on par with what you'd expect from a 5 star property. The air conditioning was so noisy we had to switch it off completely. We've seen better room decor and equipment in 4 or even 3 star hotels. Especially the living room felt basic, empty and dark with a sofa, small desk and a chair across large plain space. In all honesty we didn't need more as we didn't hang out inside much. But the room was not as nice as we expected it to be and it didn't look like the ones on the pictures. The location of the hotel, while allowing for unobstructed view of the caldera and the most incredible sunsets, is quite far from the town and there isn't much to do around. You need to get a shuttle bus (which is too infrequent), €15 taxi (someone said €10 but we paid €15 each time), or around 30 mins walk along busy road. We knew the location when booking so not a complaint really but it's worth noting. So 5 stars view, 5 stars general appearance and design of the public areas but max 3 stars for the room. All in all the positives far outweigh the negatives and we did enjoy our stay very much but it's important to give honest review and feedback.
