Hotell Södra Berget

Location, views, cleanliness, gym.

A bit outdated. We had a suite with mini sauna, which did not work properly actually. It got warm a bit, but only to ap 30 degrees C. We specifically asked for a double bed, but instead got two single beds. We went to the reception and explained that. The receptionist said she would fix that. We went to the gym and after returning the problem was not fixed! Without informing us. It was late already so we did not bother going again there. Really dissapointing! The breakfast was average by swedish standards. Averall okay stay. Awesome views of Sundvall city.

The hotel a perfectly located at the top of the ski slope and has a 360 degree view over the surrounding area. The hotel bar and restaurant are fantastic places to take in the stunning view of the city. We only stayed one night so did not get a chance to try many of the amenities but we did sample the free little cakes and cookies they had available for guest which were really nice. The hotel has a Tesla destination charger which was very handy for us and also gives you a parking space right by the hotel door. The staff in the reception area were very helpful and responsive to our needs.

Our room was not in an ideal location as our window overlooked the reception but given we booked only about an hour before arriving, we couldn't really complain about that. The areas away from the reception, bars and restaurants are probably feeling their age a bit and an update should probably be done in the near future. While doing that, the sound proofing could be improved. It was not too bad but we could occasionally hear people in other rooms.
