Pleasant helpful staff and good location.
Bed was very hard.
The decorations are so good. Nice environment, Fish. Surrounded with trees,Love this place.
Slow working staff. Equipment not modern. Noisy air conditioning. Room not so clean but it’s can acceptable.
The only saving grace was 5he employee who was sent to pick me up at the airport.
I left after one night despite having paid up front for FIVE nights. When I checked out no one enquired why; no one seemed unduly surprised led alone concerned. My room was cluttered with dysfunctional heavy furniture; the bathroom was uncomfortable and the door into it was NEVER going to.close! Breakfast was sad .... very sad. The pool pool was covered in leaves and the surrounds looked VERY uninviting. I can see why the hotel demands payment up front! It is not everyone who will leave early having paid for their accommodation in full ..... but I am so glad I did! Ma6be backpackers are happy with secomd rate accommodation, but it certainly wasn't for me.
The location is great! Close to all the in-town sights and restaurants. We also liked the pool area, it was very refreshing after a day at the temples. The staff were lovely and they tried really hard to deal with any issues we had, despite any language barriers. We also saw a sign indicating that they share any and all tips equally between the staff, and that they are paid a fair wage at this hotel.
The lack of communication was terrible! Before arriving, we tried to extend our stay and also book a pick up from the airport. We sent numerous emails, Facebook messages, Instagram messages and posts and tried multiple times through booking.com. Nothing. They never responded to one of our messages. Upon check in the man at the desk said they had received our messages but were too busy to respond. What?! I know we’re not the only ones who has this problem because other reviews state the same, and I overheard another woman checking in say that she tried to do the same. The room, while spacious, also had tons of mosquitoes in it and we had to wear big spray while sleeping. We understand the climate in Cambodia plays a part, but maybe a bug net over the bed would help. Or looking into better ventilation. Our AC was broken one day and we told them in the morning on the way out and nothing was done to fix it until we came back much later in the day and complained again. Breakfast is provided and is pretty hearty, although it doesn’t get put out until about 7am, even though they say breakfast starts at 6:30. We had no complaints with the food, but we were told upon check in that if we needed an early breakfast for a sunrise trip to Angkor, to let the staff know the night before. We did, and when we woke up at 4am to get our breakfast and go, the man sleeping on the couch outside of reception - who I assume was security? - told us that the food packages left on the counter were not for us, room 9, but for someone else. Maybe he was mistaken and they were for us, but either way, we had to buy breakfast outside of the property. One other thing - the hotel quotes $25 per day for a tuk tuk. If you ask a driver outside on your own, you can get it $7-10 cheaper. And we didn’t even negotiate, we found his rates fo be perfectly reasonable and the driver was happy. This hotel has so much more potential, but not responding to its guests lowers my review.
Beautiful location, incredible price. The staff is very friendly and always up for helping (sometimes they have some difficulties with English, but in the end communication was never a problem).
Breakfast was the only thing that didn´t really work.
