Pros: The location is excellent. The building is simply stunning. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and informative.
Cons: Very little, I slight issue was only 1 lift although it’s a very small issue.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, short walking distance to most hot places / sightseeing, next to one of the canals, with restaurants and super market very close. Room was cozy and nicely decorated, also very clean (sheets, bathroom, towels all neat). WiFi absolutely fine anywhere in the hotel. Staff was very helpful, professional and eager to answer to any inquiry. Plus with good knowledge of English, unlike most locals in Venice. Thumps up for the free shuttle to Murano, from just outside the hotel with their boat.
Cons: Zero.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the small boutique style and location of the property. Beautiful views of the canal from the balcony made it worthwhile.

Hotel Indigo Venice - Sant'elena - Venice - Building
2
9,3 Excellent (276 reviews)
R3 413+
Overview Reviews
The tranquil neighbourhood. Venice is a fairy-tale of a city with palaces, cathedrals and museums to take your breath away. In our neighbourhood you can get your breath back again. It’s a place where you can escape the noise and bustle, experience genuine local life, and feel refreshed. This is a neighbourhood of true tranquillity. At the heart of the neighbourhood is Hotel Indigo® Venice - Sant'Elena, a converted 1930s monastery where a peaceful inner sanctuary offers further respite from the bustle. Our neighbours include the elegant red-brick Gothic church of Sant’Elena, built by Augustinian monks in the 11th century and known for its lofty landmark belltower.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great in the quiet area from S. Elena, away from the busy tourist center. It is an area full of green squares and very close to the water bus stop. The staff is extremely friendly.
Cons: One morning we had breakfast, but that did not live up to the description. Luckily we were offered a discount, otherwise it would definitely be overpriced.
7,0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Price
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: No gym and pool
9,7 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was nice, clean, comfortable even with four people in the room. The courtyard was attractive, and we enjoyed evening drinks and morning breakfast there. Breakfast was a delight with a wide range of options!
Cons: Location from venice's sites originally felt far, but a water taxi day pass reduced the amount of walking we needed to do. A plus was that the hotel put us close to Lido and its beaches, so we got some time in the sun as well!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and stylish, homey vibes and friendly staff!
5,0 Okay
Pros: The room was clean as expected. Nothing exceptional about this hotel to mention. location was a little remote from the main square, which was ok. It was a pleasant walk thru the quaint and quiet residential area.
Cons: The room was not as depicted in the online photos. The verbal representation of the room was exaggerated. The staff continuously barraged us to purchase the Breakfast inclusion. Which I understood to already have been included when we bought online.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A ‘new’ IHG hotel on the south side of Venice. As a hotel - fabulous. Being in Sant Elena and, therefore, above the floods on dry ground - priceless.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the interior design, the high standards of cleanliness, the fabulously friendly and efficient staff.
Cons: The espresso was hit and miss (tasted like a short americano on occasions)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice amenities, breakfast, and location for transportation needs.
Cons: Restaurant options are limited.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location - quiet, lovely, green neighborhood a 2 minute walk to the vaporetto stop. Beautiful courtyard with lovely lounge furniture. Well staffed. Rooms well designed and attractive. All the modern conveniences. Nice cafe around the corner.
Cons: Breakfast at 9 euro could have been better, very ordinary, nothing special.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very large and nice for the price. The hotel is located a little over a mile from the Piazza San Marco which was totally feasible because you can walk along the water. We had a 1 year old in tow and it wasn't an issue for us. It was actually nice to be in a quiet area in the evenings. There were also a few parks near by which was great to allow our little one to run and play.
Cons: The restaurant staff was friendly but the concierge and check-in staff were not so friendly or approachable as is to be expected from a person holding such position.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized. The breakfast had variety of food.
Cons: The staff was nice enough to say that they will take care of the complains and apologized but it wasn't taken care of after all.
7,7 Good
Pros: Hotel was located out of the city centre of Venice which is away from the noise, and the room is nice roomy. We arrive very late on the day and the staff assist us on how to get to the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is about 20 mins walk from St. Marco Square and 1 hr by ferry to Piazza Roma, therefore have to plan the time for travelling.
6,0 Good
Cons: Location. It is a bit far from the city centre and major attractions but still within walking distance.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, food, staff, bed, information source, location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: hotel was great in quiet location and close to boat stop so not far to carry any luggage. I did notice alot of people walking round venice with bags looking lost so great for finding the hotel
6,4 Good
Pros: very peaceful,clean too
Cons: very quiet in the bar in evenings, could not enjoy night in hotel, would have to venture out.could have been more of a choice i food for breakfast
6,0 Good
Pros: It had large modern rooms in a quieter area of Venice with some lovely green space but still close enough to the tourist attractions of Venice.
Cons:
7,6 Good
Pros: The hotel was of a high modern standard. The rooms were well equipped although not large , were fine - although the views from the windows were not worth opening the shutters. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a quite location around 15-20 minutes pleasant walk from St Marks Sq. A water bus stops just 2 mins walk from the hotel. (and goes to the Lido and all the Islands, as well as back to the Grand Canal in the other direction).
Cons: The hotel did not have much "Venice" character. The pigeons in the courtyard were a real nuisance. They even landed on the tables and (although the staff cleaned up very quickly ) droppings were regular on the outside furniture.
4,4 Okay
Pros: Location was good, rooms and bathrooms were good
Cons: The reception staff were grumpy
6,0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is fabulous, away from the craziness of the crowds and the nearby park is terrific, especially for kids.
Cons:

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice staff, who were always friendly and responsive. We loved the location of the hotel, which is in a pretty area; off the main tourist track but with plenty of local bars and restaurants. A good breakfast and we appreciated the fact that the hotel provided a takeaway bag on the morning of our early departure
Cons: The decor in our room was a little tired but the room was spotlessly clean and so this was not a major issue
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous room, breakfast a real treat and very helpful staff
Cons: It was all great

Pros: Lovely hotel in a quieter part of Venice , surrounded by lovely bars and eateries . The hotel is clean in all areas and the staff go above and beyond at all times x
Cons: No coffee or tea making facilities in the room x
8,0 Excellent
Pros: All was fine except there was a nasty smell of burning rubbish outside the hotel windows during the night. Although we were "upgraded", the upgraded rooms were small, too modern and lacked the style of the rooms in the hotel's original building.
Cons: More characterful rooms and no nasty smells of burning overnight.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and location were perfect so easy to get to anything you want to see and do.
Cons: N/A
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a more residential part of town - but only 10 - 15 min walk to all main attractions this hotel was awesome. Staff were ridiculously friendly. Place is like a 5 star hotel. Completely renovated - all high tech switches in the rooms. Extremely cheap for what you get. Will be only place I stay in Venice from now on!
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service by very professional staff who were extremely helpful with all our needs. We had special religious needs on Saturday and the staff was very cooperative. The atmosphere was very special in this boutique hotel in Cannareggio area of Venice on the canal. Absolutely peaceful and serene atmosphere that made us forget all everyday concerns. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay here again this summer when we return to visit Venice.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: the property is 15minites walking distance to the railway station and 5 minutes from the shopping. So it is convenience yet Quiet . The staff is very friendly and breakfast is good
9,4 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I recently stayed at the Ai More d'Oriente for 4 days and 3 nights in December 2014 and loved it. Here's what we loved: LOCATION - The location was perfect... close, easy access to the vaperatto's (Venice's water taxis) as well as a short walk to the city center. STAFF - The staff was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. AMENITIES - Free wi-fi and breakfast. ROOMS - Comfortable, clean, nicely decorated rooms. The rooms are small but 1. that's to be expected in Europe and 2. We didn't come to Italy to stay in the room so the size wasn't an issue for us. Overall we felt we got an excellent value for what we paid. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Cons: The breakfast was a typical European breakfast. The coffee was excellent but the food options were not to our liking. However, it I free so not a big deal for us.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely return

Pros: First of all allies it was a wonderful and let us check in four hours early. That was extremely nice and unexpected.
Cons: The hotel, the location, everything about it was amazing. Our room did have a little bit of a moldy smell to it but I think that's because they turn the air off when you leave and of course they are on the water. Again, I highly recommend this hotel it

The staff was very helpful with our luggage and everything else. Upon arrival, the receptionist provided us a map and all the attractions we should go and visit, which i appreciated very much.

7,0 Good
Cons: Perfect location. One reception guy was super friendly the other one had almost never even looked who is in an out, but we also didn't need anything. The room was clean but we saw some ants roaming around. We stayed in the separate house, where separate breakfast was served. It was ok but it's 4-5 tables in the hallway and one waiter that pretty much can just look at you while you eat because what else, I felt not so comfortable. The hotel has its own deck for gondola which is nice. In my opinion it was an average hotel.
7,5 Good
Cons: Do not recommend buying tour services from the Hotel. I booked a one hour channel tour and the airport as final destination, and the taxi boat driver took short cuts and ended the tour 20 minutes earlier. My complaints to the hotel did not result in any reply or refund.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovede erything about it!
Cons: Everything was perfect
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic and the staff were all very helpful
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes in the bedroom, no air conditioning even though we booked this hotel on the basis it said all rooms would have. The rooms got very hot and we had no choice but to have the window open. This caused both me and my partner to be bitten severely all over our body

7,4 Good
Pros: A lovely hotel in a great part of Venice, near St. Marks square. Clean rooms, nice breakfast.
Cons: Our standard room was tiny. We could barely open our 2 suitcases up on the floor side by side at the foot of the bed and pass by to get to the washroom. The room was just bigger than the bed.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: rooms very nice, location good....
Cons: staff very nice except for one person at the desk who soured our experience.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Swing pool and bed room
Cons: Bafh room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: A little of everything
Cons: More than you think
5,0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful island, with amazing amenities but you have to have the money to stay in the top end level rooms, if not very average and expect there are better hotels on Venice
Cons: Not great value for money, rooms were sparse, poorly decorated and felt dated compared to other areas of the Hotel. Also small things that you expect from a 5* weren't there, service was passable, knowledge was limited of Venice for recommendations, etc, didnt feel as welcoming as have done at other hotels. The loungers on the top floor restaurant were soaked the day we went up (must have rained overnight as didnt see a drop of rain while we were there) so you were awkwardly perching on the seat to have a drink. Was disappointed to have to pay to get access to the spa, first time as a guest of a 5* hotel i have seen an additional charge to use the facilities. Transport to Venice is available but once an hour is the minimum i would expect. Also a shame the michelin* restaurant was closed while we were there, didnt realised it was closed for 4-6 months of the year which was planning to take my wife for bday dinner, Apart from that food is average compared to some of the other hotels we visited on Venice.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast Very good quality roof top
3,0 Mediocre
Cons: We were in shower so you could image how we were looked like . And then the service lady walked straight in ! How terrifying ! Also when we checked out and told what happened to the front desk lady when she asked me how the stay was, she charged the card and did not say anything ! Haha what a service ! !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. It’s truly amazing. We had a junior suit it was lovey. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. The rooftop pool has the most amazing views of Venice. We enjoyed a morning at the spa The facilities are great. Over all our experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend getting a private taxi boat from the airport to the hotel It made our experience of the hotel even better.

With a stay at Ca' Sagredo in Venice (Cannaregio), you'll be steps from Grand Canal and Ca' d'Oro. Featured amenities include a business center, limo/town car service, and express check-in. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The place looks awesome, a 14th century palazzo, and keeps it's charm. The staff is super jolly and helpful, always looking to be facilitating your stay. The room was adequate, not too much overdressed, and there were no noises from the street at all. There are all kinds of services nearby, including vaporetto stop for easy in and out of the city. It's also very close to several of the Biennale exhibitions, like Ca d'Oro, just around the corner.
Cons: The internet connection was really not good enough for a five star hotel. We stop trying to connect and used mobile connection instead. Easy to improve though.
6,7 Good
Pros: The room was spacious and the location great. It was also absolutely silent which was what we wanted.
Cons: This hotel was a bit rough around the edges for a 5* hotel eg scuffed skirting boards, stained carpets etc. The staff were not particularly attentive. My husband asked for a rather basic cocktail, which they refused to make as it was ‘out of season.’ There was a stocked bar and no reason why they couldn’t just knock a quick mojito up. The hotel also took an extra £200+ out of my account as preauthorisation for the stay. I had no real problem with this until I came to pay for the stay on departure and they had not yet released this money and still expected me to pay the full amount on top. I think that was a bit cheeky. I had to phone my bank to release the preauthorisation payment as the hotel had effectively claimed it, removed it from my account and said I’d get it back in 2 weeks. This isn’t acceptable. I also went to the hotel as they have a vegan chef. I expected some decent vegan options but the menu was basic, over priced and unimaginative.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: very weak breakfast , not good for 5 stars hotel No coffee maker on the rooms , again the hotel is classified as 5 stars but not at all look like 5 stars lobby is very bad heater and internet control were only from the reception i don't know why many other notes
Cons: to be honest nothing the hotel level is only could be 2 stars except the toilets are Ok
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Super hotel, in a dream location at Canal Grande.
Cons: IMPORTANT NOTICE: Even if the mayor declares the State Of Emergency and advises not to travel to Venice, the hotel WILL NOT REFUND your money!
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it was charming.
Cons: No points at all.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, like staying in a museum. Having breakfast surrounded by frescoes was a unique experience
Cons: I asked the front desk to help me book a train to Florence the night prior to checking out. They told me that they could not do this for me, but not to worry as the trains don't sell out anyway. Unfortunately when we showed up at the train station, the train to Florence we needed was sold out ruining our plans for the afternoon. I stayed in two other hotels on this stay in Italy and in both the staff booked train tickets for me

6,7 Good
Pros: Good location very centre and some very helpful friendly staff.
Cons: The air conditioning did not work and the room became very stuffy during the evening making it hard to sleep. Also due to the location of the hotel you hear the local church bells ring every hour night and day !! We also paid extra for a canal view but to be honest the views aren’t great and not worth the additional costs.

Overview Reviews
With its heritage setting on Riva degli Schiavoni, Hotel Danieli dominates the Venetian lagoon with spectacular views of the Grand Canal and islands. Also overlooking the Palazzo Ducale, the hotel is just steps away from Ponte Dei Sospiri and Piazza San Marco. The three palaces which comprise the hotel date from the 14th, 17th and 19th Centuries: Palazzo Dandolo in Venetian Gothic style, once home to the noble Dandolo family; Palazzo Casa Nuova, previously the city’s treasury; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, featuring guestrooms with balconies overlooking the lagoon on its upper floors. The three palaces house a rich collection of precious art and antiques that play witness to the city’s history, blended with contemporary comforts to meet the needs of cultured global travelers. Essential to the Danieli experience is its Restaurant Terrazza Danieli and cuisine concept, a magical voyage for the senses which retraces the oriental influences of spice traders and blends them with ingredients from the lagoon.

Cons: Room service food was bad and there is no iron.
6,0 Good
Pros: Probably the closest 5 star hotel to St Mark's Square.
Cons: 1st night in hotel, shower did not drain and flooded the whole bathroom floor. Had to call for someone to come up and drain the shower. He ended up pulling out a big wad of hair the size of my fist.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Location is perfect. The staff was, for the most part amazing. The room was well appointed. The restaurants were definitely 5 star calibre
Cons: The concierge's were rude. They did not smile or even acknowledged me as I left and returned to the hotel. I was surprised, because when I stayed a the Metropole last year, this was not the case. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located to many of the main things to see and do, in a beautiful historic building. The entrance is grand and the entire hotel is beautifully furnished, giving a peak into the past. Restaurant and terrace on the top floor are incredible!!! The most amazing setting for breakfast when you are outside with a full view of the Grand Canal.
Cons: We really thought the room was over-priced in view of both the size/surface (very small) and the amenities.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, architecture and staff.
Cons: Not one thing.

I asked if I could have it cooked differently and was given the same food back. 3) service was slow at times 4) no coffee or tea facilities in the room

Pros: Great location just a bit east of St Marcos plaza. At the end of an alley but easy to find .
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent - very close to everything and to transportation, the staff was helpful, the breakfast was good although basic. The hotel is renovated and has a very pleasant atmosphere.
Cons: We were put in the new wing. Our room was part of an appartment that can be rented out as single rooms. We got what was probably the living room. It was very nice and spacious, but the bed was a folding sofa and wasn't the most comfortable bed in the world. Not a showstopper though...
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the size of the room.
Cons: We went with another couple. Our room was very hot and stuffy both nights, even though we had talked to the front desk personnel after the first night. Our friend’s room was two doors down and the temperature of their room was very comfortable.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Nice spacious junior suite. Fantastic location a minute walk from a major waterbus stop. Both close to San Marco and restaurants whilst also being very peaceful.

Pros: All food services
Cons: Floor plans complex and not safe. Basic facilities far from everything. Ground floor and lobby bathrooms are so hidden one needs a guide to find them. Many staircases have no hand rails. Cost of bottled water obscene! Drinking water is a basic necessity and should be available not priced as an expensive luxury.

Pros: They make every guest a movie star!

Pros: Fantastic staff, great location, cool hotel design and décor, great bar and food. Will definitely stay there again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff Historical building Cozy 15th century atmosphere
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Its well located, close to San Marco square, wich is a great thing in Venice, considering that GPS doesnt work properly, so its important to stay close to a major reference. The hotel looks like a museum with a lot of vintage itens and really get you in to Venice historical vibe. The room is confortable but for the price we expected more space and better shower. Breakfast was amazing but the service wasnt as expected. Waitresses were not very friendly and always took a while before we were served. Highly recomend the hotel's restaurant for dinner.
Cons: Room a little tight and the service at breakfast could be better.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The excellent location, the antique quality styling and the very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Out of season building / maintenance work going on which had a minimal impact on our short stay (3 nights).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable elegance at it's best. Warmest staff you will ever find anywhere in Venice. The staff could not do enough for us. Nothing was to much trouble. Spotless rooms, and nice views. The oriental bar is superb. We will always return to the Metropole when visiting Venice.
Cons: After 10 days leaving was very hard.

Pros: Gorgeously luxurious
Cons: The first room had a dead pixel band on the TV

8,5 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, far from the attraction but there are shuttle for the other side where the attractions are. The shuttle every 30 mins until midnight
Cons: The staff are professional but rude somtimes.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: A 5 minute free shuttle ride across from Piazza San Marco to an utterly relaxing retreat in Venice. The service and staff are second to none.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything. The room was beautiful, across a small garden. The staff was very accommodating. The gardens were a particularly nice touch.
Cons: One major gripe: internet access (important, as this was a business trip) was very poor. Connections dropped constantly, and otherwise ran remarkably slowly. The only other gripe is very minor: as the hotel is in Giudecca, it's a bit of a "trip" to get to the main island. On the other hand, that's how it has the beautiful gardens and how it's not surrounded by crowds all the time...
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The locaiton was away from the hussle and bussle of Venice but only a short boat ride away. The hotel's garden makes it feel like you are worlds away from a busy metropolis.
Cons: The walls were paper thin - we could hear our neighbors early in the morning watching television.

Pros: Awesome staff. Great breakfast. Good cocktails!
Cons: Nothing
Overview Reviews
The Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, Autograph Collection, housed in the old and prestigious Rizzo-Patarol noble palace, is an excellent location for completely immersing yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Venice. The hotel's XVII-century façade has a portal and loggia on overlapping levels and is hidden a secret garden, the only one to be found in a hotel in Venice, which is perfectly preserved and faces onto the lagoon. The Grand Hotel Dei Dogi, Autograph Collection combines contemporary comfort with the ‘period luxury’ of the precious marble, splendid frescoes and Majestic chandeliers. Located in Sestiere Cannaregio, it is close to the center but at arm’s length from the more crowded thoroughfares and thus, shows the true face of Venice and its inhabitants.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: the staff were amazing
Cons: the room handle was broken
3,0 Mediocre
Cons: None of my status worked because I booked through you. The room was right over the hotel garbage cans, which was also where the staff took their smoke breaks. So if I opened the window because the room was 26 degrees, the room filled with cigarette smoke.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the hotel was great. The people are nice and they try to help us in anyway they could. It’s nearby shops and restaurants and we loved the classical interior. We stayed there for 4 nights and we had a great time
Cons: That we could not have any late diner
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Really liked the fact I had a bath and a shower, large wardrobe and very nice comfortable bed, and a small spa area was used by us both, would of liked to known when I arrived it needed to be booked .
Cons: Telephoned didn’t work in our room for a few days & wasn’t told we needed to book the spa, would of liked to order cocktail at the bar or even flavoured tonic waters...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The quiet location, the comfortable beds, the Spa, Matteo in the bar, the staff, the free Water taxi to Piazza San Marco.
