Pros:
Staff was great, but totally unprepared for our arrival. We purchased extra insurance at their urging, even though we really didn't want to. They gave a slight discount but for all the inconveniences and inconsistencies it should have been more. The car was great and overall service was goodCons:
Car was not ready upon arrival. They had to give us a ride to our hotel then deliver it later on. The car was 3 1/2 -4 hours late to be given to us. No offer was made to compensate us. If we would have brought it back 3 1/2 hours late would they have expected us NOT to compensate them?Sixt

The liability insurance we bought was invalid in the DR. We had to purchase one at the counter that was 4 times the price. It took a while to get ahold of the company that we bought from and ask for a refund. The car also smelled of smoke which caused allergies.2,0 Poor

Upon Arrival @ pick up location I was informed the car would be triple the original quoted and paid for price, I am unsure if its corporate policy, bait and switch or staffing issue, however, completely unacceptable; I did not get rental and presently fighting at present. And again, an insurance option more than twice as expensive as rental cost was slapped at the counter. This was previously undisclosed. Since I declined the insurance they refused to rent me the vehicle.Cons:

Pros:
It was a new vehicle in good condition and it was clean but a major downgrade from what Kayak advertised and what I expected based on how much I paid.Cons:
The staff was friendly but it was super frustrating how much time they made me waste while coercing me to buy extra insurance that I didn't want or need. I didn't appreciate all their intimidation techniques as well as with the prepayment of the fuel tank as if that was the only option. Also Kayak advertised a Chevrolet Tahoe or equivalent for the full size SUV category and when I got there they said the Chevrolet Equinox was their full size version and had nothing bigger available without a major increase in price. I feel ripped off on every front and will never again rent through Kayak or from Alamo.8,0 Very Good

We reserved a vehicle from this company when we were at home, but when we arrived at the airport we were told the car we had reserved was already rented out to somebody, and instead were offered a more expensive alternative option that we had to turn down.2,0 Poor

Everything went wrong. The vehicle that I reserved wasn’t the one they wanted to give me. When I showed them a picture of vehicle or similar they blamed kayak for error. They wanted to give me a smaller vehicle for same price. I ended up using another rental company.10,0 Wonderful

Either Allianz lied when I rented car on internet about insurance ... or the Budget Employee lied when I picked the car up. Allianz said I was covered in full for $100 for the period, but employee forced me to cancel Allianz policy buy his insurance that was 400% higher.Cons:
Please figure out how to make things consistent and honest for your clients. I feel used and I no longer Trust Budget. False advertising is what brought me to this rental from Budget. I doubt that I will ever rent from Budget again in my life.5,2 Fair

Cons:
This is the second time we have reserved a car online with Budget and had to upgrade once we arrived. We went from $135 to $500. The SUV we reserved was comparable to a Nissan Rogue. My mother in law owns a Rogue, and the rental waiting for us was not a similar size. We upgraded to a third seat, and paid more for 'comfort'. The third seat didn't have any leg room. I had to literally sit sideways. I doubt a car seat would've fit. It was Nissan SUV that we have never heard of. Then we found out that our insurance purchased online wouldn't help us if something happened right away. We would have to pay Budget upfront, and get reimbursed from the insurance company on our own. They allowed us to cancel our policy 1 hr before picking up the car. We didn't realize this policy wouldn't cover us immediately until we picked up the car. We paid $11 per day online. We ended up having to pay Budget $13 per day, and $4 for tire/glass per day. This has been super frustrating both trips in a foreign country!2,0 Poor

Cons:
After taking a taxi to the airport, we were surprised to hear from the associate that apparently the amount paid via Kayak was only an estimate and that the actual price would be more than three times the original price. Because of this we cancelled the car reservation but were stuck paying taxis there and back and paying nonrefundable insurance. The associate was rude and gave no other options. At the counter I was surprised to learn that I must purchase VERY expensive insurance option to rent the vehicle. This was previously undisclosed. The cost of the insurance was higher than the cost of the vehicle.Cons:
The disclosure of the rule must happen at the time of booking with an option to select the insurer online. Making your customers captive leaves very bad taste.5,2 Fair

They would not rent me the car for the price I agreed to online. They were forcing me to use their insurance even though i had my own insurance, which doubled the price. When I returned it they said I “crashed” the car and made me pay $100 to fix a tiny scratch which i definitely did NOT do!2,0 Poor

The first explorer broke down that suv was 8 years and 80,000 miles noise and banging around on the road. They then gave me a midsize suv I was stuck with until I returned to the airport to swap that out for a full size suv. This was again an 10 year old vehicle witch stunk and the seats were locked in position .I was then forced to upgrade to a 12 passenger van. again another old vehicle with 80,000 miles and all cars were extremely banged up. If you want a worthy vehicle go elsewhere because Europe car is the worst. No customers service no assistance and no support.2,0 Poor

Cons:
The fact that upon arrival my reservation was not the same and was asked to leave a $ 1,000 hold on my account I thought was outrageous especially after asking if I could see it in writing which the sales rep denied and continued to ask for large amount to hold. Insurance rate was also way too high.. which made me feel like if I didn't include they would've sent someone around to cause damage and I'd be force to pay.. Definitely had qualities of a scam... All in all, I did not go further with transaction and had to use a completely different rental company on the spot in order to rent a vehicle. Two thumbs down!!2,0 Poor

The estimated price for two weeks rental was $280, but when we came to pick up the car from the airport total price was estimated close to $800. If we knew this before, we would search for better deal. We ended up taking taxi and finding different company to rent from.2,0 Poor
