Breakfast was not the best
The location was perfect: The hotel is in a building that has a walkway through from the street it is listed on to the zocalo. From there, you can get tours to all the surrounding areas, eat delicous food overlooking the park, relax, etc. It is a lively and exciting place. The hotel itself is beautiful: in a 400 year old building with lots of art and details.
The room we stayed in was very small with a small tv. That was fine for us, but be warned! There was a convertible chair/bed with a futon topper, but it was missing some bolts and was pretty janky overall. The two biggest disappointments were: On Friday night there was karaoke downstairs and it was loud enough that we could make out the songs from our room. It made it very hard for the kids (and us!) to sleep after a long day of fun. And: the "free" breakfast consists of coffee, weird tasting orange juice (it tasted more like Tang), and some fruit. That was all. We ended up paying for breakfast at the restaurant and it was only okay. We didn't bother sticking around for the free coffee even the other two days of our stay.
Very charming hotel located in a historic building right on the main square, was just a quick stay but had everything I needed and was nice and quiet.
Excellent location next to zocalo.
Double room very small with no space to move and washroom almost next to bed. Poor lighting and water gets warm after a while but never hot. Washroom has extra long step-up and window opens to common space so there is no security if left open to air out room.
Location was good if you don’t mind being right in the very middle of everything touristy. We’d recommend going a few blocks south east for a more chill and friendly vibe.
Our room was tiny and on the corner of a massive indoor corridor and so really noisy with large groups of other guests hanging around. It was NOT as advertised. The shower/toilet room had no ventilation. The “breakfast” meant to be included was NOT a breakfast - a few chopped up pieces of fruit looking very sorry for itself (see photo), a coffee and a glass of juice. Anything else needed to be paid for. If you’re hoping for breakfast, this is a scam! The electric key card to our room was reset every day so we continually had to go up and down stairs seeking assistance from (the disinterested) reception staff. When we voiced our dissatisfaction, the staff just shrugged and seemed really not to care. Terrible customer service indicating poor management as staff seem very unhappy working there. Really advise against staying here.
