Huge glass floor-length windows towards the boulevard from the common area on the ground floor! Lots of people always working or socialising. A very small kitchen, but well-equipped enough (has fridge and stovetop) that I've made several dinners there. In-house laundry available. Beautiful view from room balconies upstairs onto again the same boulevard. Excellent WiFi.
Very few power sockets throughout the hostel.
The room exceeded my expectation. It is not big, which is as I expected but the interior design is very contemporary and whilst I paid extra for the balcony, I wasn't aware of the amazing view over Le Sacre Coeur. The vicinity is okay. The street isn't the most beautiful aspect of the property but there are a couple nice side streets nearby and it's very near the Sacre Coeur and Place de Tertre which I love visiting. The Moulin Rouge is also less than a km's walk down the road with a few restaurants on the way.
There aren't that many dining options nearby. The main restaurants we found were closer to the Moulin Rouge which I don't enjoy visiting on weekends as you will find quite a few drunk people in the street.
staff are very friendly.
There are ticks in my room I could not sleep at all!
I liked the price.
I would of liked to known if the rooms are co-ed.
Every single person at the reception desk was adorable, helpful ! Lovely to have such personnel in Paris. They heard my point regarding the sick person and offered a solution. The cleaning is done on a daily basis. The premises are modern and clean The hotel/ hostel is ideally placed, the neighbourhood is nice and has everything one may need at a sort walking distance. There are many public transportation options near by.
The rules regarding courtesy with the other guests sharing the room should be clearly stated, for instance not leaving dirty stuff, especially tissues. Also super important hygiene and rules regarding sick people. We agree to share rooms which are small but not to share the dirt of the others and their sickness. In my room there was a sick girl who didn't shower, stayed in, didn't use the bed linen and kept the dirty tissues after blowing her nose (germs!!). I had to gently impose to open the window to clear a bit the air. The point is that it becomes a health issue for all the guests. Also the cleaning which is done every day should not be optional when one person in the room says like no thanks, it should be done either way.
