This charming, traditional 3-star hotel lies in the heart of the historic centre of Offenburg, between the Baroque Rathaus (town hall) and Classical Königshof (king’s court). The Hotel Sonne has belonged to the same family since 1858 and offers rooms, family rooms and suites in an elegant, historic atmosphere. The rooms in the original part of the hotel are furnished in an attractive old Biedermeier style, while tastefully furnished, modern rooms and Empire-style rooms are also available. Look forward to a delicious buffet breakfast each morning before setting out to explore picturesque Offenburg or hiking and cycling in the nearby Black Forest. Offenburg’s lively pedestrian zone is right outside your doorstep, while great transport links mean that popular day-trip destinations, such as Baden-Baden, Strasbourg and Alsace, are within easy reach.
Pros: Great location in centre of town
Pros: clean up my room Just in time.
Cons: Sonne's restaurant is very nice.
Pros: Great location as directly city center. Quick check-in and -out process and nice welcome.
Cons: Parking to be paid (as city center and not free parking around), small bed as you most find a double bed even if you book a single room, surprisingly this was different here.
Pros: Breakfast and location.
Cons: Room fit out, bit old style gasthaus. But, important, very clean.
Pros: Comfortable and clean rooms. Ideal location and friendly hotel staff
Pros: Location, breakfast, kind and helpful staff.
Pros: Everything especially the staff.
Pros: Good breakfast. Efficient, friendly service.
Pros: Beautiful old inn in the centre of town. Generously-sized, bright room. The bike had a safe place in the garage. Breakfast was phenomenal - two types of smoked fish (salmon and trout) - there was even had a nutella dispensing machine! The breakfast buffet really did have everything you could think of, good quality too.
Cons: I had to ding the bell several times and wait 10-15 minutes for somebody to come to reception. When we were checked in, we were given no help to be shown the room - just pointed in the general direction. Room was very hot at night, but with the window open there was a lot of noise from people living nearby. Staff wear traditional dress, which just seemed a bit weird. For the price, I'd expect more service and some air conditioning.
Pros: Excellent accomodation, spacious room for 4 persons, friendly owner, refrigerator with drinks available 24 hours (payable at check out), inside parking was available, easy to get to from the nearest motorway and located in the historic centre.

Pros: Efficient Staff. Little library area, with some fruit etc.. Thoughtful.
Cons: Room was tiny, which isn't at all the impression given by the photos.
Cons: U have to pay for WIFI (3€)
Pros: everything, especially the great Hotel team. Allowed me to park my motorcycle in their secure garage :)
Cons: noting at all, very accommodating owner and staff
Pros: Nice little hotel in romantic timber built house. Rooms are modern standard, but the restaurant reminds me of the cosy old restaurants which seem not to change for centuries. Very friendly staff! Everything clean and tidy!
Cons: Unfortunately I arrived on sunday evening, so the restaurant was closed. Breakfast was common standard buffet, unfortunately nothing special WLAN has to be paid separately! Single room is a bit small, but O.K. for this price
Pros: Comfy atmosphere if dining room
Cons: The room was on second floor with no lift
Pros: Cosy restaurant, nice place for breakfast
Cons: Small rooms, a little to expensive, especially an additional 7.50 for breakfast.

Pros: The food was amazing! The hotel rooms a little dated but exceptionally clean. The bathroom was a 1970’s masterpiece!! But completely overshadowed by the quirkiness and individualism of the hotel... this is not a faceless chain hotel but a small family run place ..if that’s what you want you won’t be disappointed .
Pros: Beautifull restaurant, good food, excellent service, good beds, nice room in the dependance. Superb breakfast.
Cons: Bathroom was oldfashioned, but ok. Everything was very clean!
Pros: The view from the hotel and the resturant. The hotel location a bit outside the city center but the view and the enviroment is worth it
Pros: Just a stop for the night, but the room was very big, clean and very fresh even if the temperature outside was high.
Pros: Good location if you want to be out of town and near the vinyards. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, but the owner was very helpful in reserving us a table in a nearby Straußwirtschaft.
Pros: Delicious breakfast. Located in the countryside. Staff were very friendly. Room was quiet and comfortable.
Pros: great breakfast, great beds, big room. Admitted dogs
Cons: upon askig for a quiet room and asking about the contents of breakfast, the receptionist told me that I was very critical and I should maybe look for another hotel...? Impossible They are advertising for SKy TV, but it doesnt work.
Pros: Rooms were hyper clean ,and the breakfast / restaurant were amazing very big selection of food and drinks !
Pros: Good half way stop between Holland and Switzerland. It's our 6th visit|. Good beds, nice breakfast, quiet location away from the motorway and we always enjoy our walk into the vineyards after supper.

Cons: The bathroom is small. Functional but small. The pillows are bad.
Pros: The breakfast for a small charge was amazing.
Pros: Home cooked meals very good and typical of the area
Pros: Stayed here before. Evening meal and breakfast excellent.

Pros: The hotel is near the station, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is very welcoming and attentive.
Cons: No air-conditioning. Although I arrived late in the evening, it was like +30 in the room. It has been a problem for this hotel for years, but when it's not hot, the hotel is simply perfect.
Pros: Good, easy to find location. Chap on reception very welcoming
Cons: No air con
Pros: The situation of the hotel was good close to the city center. Offenburg is a pretty city about 20 minutes drive from Strasbourg, which is great. The room was very comfortable and the price reasonable. Breakfast was fairly good but a little expensive. It's a way to compensate the reasonable price of the room and the services. In any case, I will not hesitate one second to come back if I ever have to stay there again.
Cons: It's Always possible to improve and i would perhaps be able to suggest one or two ideas but this is not necessary to write it here being given that I was very satisfied with my stay and I have absoluetly no reproach whatsoever to make.
Cons: Our requested non-smokers room was smelling like smoke
Pros: Close to train station and city center. Good hospitality. Clean rooms and bathroom.
Pros: cleanness, bed, location
Cons: The room view, tv programs
Pros: Offenburg is a very beautiful place, we felt very welcomed by the hotel, shops and restaurants staff. The Receptionist of the hotel was super nice, spoke perfect English and helped us with every question we had. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfy. The only advice I would give is to add air conditioning to the rooms. We would like to come back to the city and the hotel, for sure!
Cons: Rooms need air conditioning
Pros: The hotel was easily walkable from the station. The hotel restaurant was closed that night, but the girl at the desk gave good directions to a vegan restaurant I was interested in. She seemed at a loss with wifi problems but was otherwise very friendly and helpful whenever I asked anything. It was nice to have a tea and coffee selection in the room plus several extras (like a nail file and mini-sewing kit) that are often missing nowadays.
Cons: The first wifi code I was given didn't work, so I had to wait at reception a second time for a new code. The person before me had the same problem... When I checked in, the room was miserably hot from the afternoon sun and it never really cooled off enough to sleep well. (Perhaps it would have if I had turned the AC on high before going to dinner instead of afterward.) The mattress was also too hard for me and gave me a backache, so I did not sleep all that well there.
Pros: The closeness to station.
Cons: Considering it was a business hotel I had to go out and purchase a plug to charge my phone. They had one which was broken!
Pros: Good budget for stay near train statin. Receptions are gd n helpful esp the hansome young man.
Cons: Try to request for room not having same facing as the hotel main entrance, there is a beer garden n people can talk till midnight, u cant open window if u sleep early. Sometimes there will be tour group leaving n the marning n the tour bus is parked next to the beer garden.

Pros: Reasonably priced.
Cons: They left the window open before I went into the room. It filled up with tones of flies and a couple of bugs. Had to spend the first two minutes killing bugs, but after that the room was fine.
Pros: Location. Pleasant room.
Cons: Expensive breakfast
Pros: The rooms are clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful.
Cons: We spent at the hotel 3 nights. The price for the first two nights was 143 per night. We expected much more than a standard room.
Cons: Room not clean Found a bug in the room Not possible to get room service
Pros: Clean sheats, nice breakfast, good room size, good dinner.
Cons: We’ we stayed for two nights, there was a children camp just nearby in that period of time and it was very noisy( they had some sort of concert there until 23 O’ clock. We have tried to change the room with anotherone on the other side of the building but the lady at the reception said they were fully booked. I usually read the important informations provided by the hotel on booking but I didnt see any informations about this event. On the second day we have changed the room and we didnt heard the concert anymore. Another thing that botherd me was the fact that the hotel is in need of cleaner furniture. In my opinion this Mercure feels like a 3 stars hotel and lacks coherance in style.
Pros: Easy to reach by car, you have the private parking , everything was smooth and easy.
Cons: 17 euros for breakfast I think might be a bit excessive
Cons: Old room, bed was bad, loud, small room
Pros: The room & swimming pool
Cons: The grill buffet was so-so...
Pros: Hotel is located near the A5 Autobahn. The staff at the restaurant is welcoming and food is ok.
Cons: Staff at the reception is not friendly at all; rooms are pretty much used; if you have a car to park at their premises, they will make you pay additional parking fees...
Pros: Great food helpful staff would recommend
Cons: No available bar
Pros: Staff were very helpfull and friendly. Would stay again.
