The was a fire alarm in the night - fortunately false. The staff was not trained in handling such a situation. We assembled in the lobby where the highly confused staff did not know what to do, except from making phone calls. No leadership, no information. We had to guess if it was a false alarm or not.
Location and friendly staff
Wee bit extra attention to cleaning in bathroom but overall very good
Clean and comfortable large rooms (bedroom and bathroom). Impressive public rooms with historical character retained. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the spa, which would have been a bonus, I think. The staff were friendly without being over the top.
We like to sleep with the windows open but only one of them opened (none in the bath room). The room was very nice but we did think of a small (and easily rectified) list of things which would bring it up to an excellent standard: a small piece of wall paper peeling off above the headboard could be stuck down. The lampshades could do with replacing. The bases of the beds were rather scuffed.
The staff were fabulous
The room was very small for what I paid but it was only one night so Will ask for different room next time I stay
Super friendly staff.
Strange layout with room difficult to find. Very limited parking.
