All was good. Restaurant staff and house keeping staff good help!
The front desk staff handling house keeping could not remember the requests made and put us in a bad situation. Any problems faced by them in addressing our request was not being informed to us.
It was sad in terms of service .Manpower too low as compared to guests hence they couldn't manage things well. also the bathroom shower knob came out the moment I tried to use it.Very bad
liked only the cleanliness .
Conference organizers had listed this hotel as close to the event, and this is the only reason I stayed here. There was nothing I liked about it.
From 7am until 11pm at night, the Sarovar Portico Naraina Hotel plays loud elevator music in its hallways, which you'll hear in your room because the soundproofing is non-existant, however you are more likely to be woken up much earlier by student group coordinators who ring your doorbell at 5am thinking that your room has one of their students in it. There will be the noise of them shouting at their students until the Muzak kicks in a couple hours later. Noise would be one thing, but the rooms themselves have a suspect level of cleanliness and a mildew smell that will permeate all your belongings if you stay a week like I did. All of this could have been somewhat forgiven if the staff had made any attempt to fix the situation, and because this is a 3-star place hotel for a somewhat cheaper price in New Delhi. However my experience with the dishonest staff at the reception desk who swindled us for a airport transfer by charging 75% more than the posted hotel at the last minute is intolerable (1200 rupees became 2000 rupees once our bags were put in the car and there was a rush to leave). This is not a hotel chain suitable for foreigners. A hotel should be the one place where you'd expect some honest customer service, and not to have to be on one's guard to be taken for a chump just because you are a Westerner.
