The staff were amazing and super friendly, especially the shuttle staff.
Stains on sheets. Uncomfortable bed that sloped to the middle. Loud bathroom fan that sounded like the motor was struggling and going out. VERY thin walls and door. Woke up 3 times one night because of people talking at a normal volume and doors shutting.
It's a beautiful historic hotel that has been kept in its original glory - with updated amenities.
The parking structure was nice but a bit of a walk if walking by yourself at night. Also, I was in two rooms over my stay due to TVs not working. The staff was very nice and helpful about it, and comp'd my two days of parking for the inconvenience.
Could have had simpler, less coloric breakfast option.
The only positive thing about this hotel was the bed & pillows were good.
The hot water in the vanity ran constantly, you could not shut off the water. The bathroom left much to be desired. I have never seen such a tiny toilet and it was maybe 12 inches from the floor. It was very hard to get up. At one point considered using the public restroom. When I went to take a shower, the tub was very slippery and there were no grab bars. I had to line the tub with towels just so I wouldn't fall. Then when I pulled the shower curtain closed a dirty wash cloth fell down. The Keurig coffee maker in the vanity area wouldn't work until we moved it to the desk in the bedroom. it kept tripping the outlet in the vanity area. I think this is the first room we stayed in that did not have a channel guide for the TV and no information on the restaurants in the hotel. I had to use my phone to see if there was a restaurant on site. Turns out there were two but they did not promote them at all. This room did not offer free breakfast, just a Keurig in your room if you could find an outlet that it wouldn't trip. There was a sofa in the room that I think may have been a hide a bed. It was outdated with frayed cushions and it was very faded, If they truly renovated this hotel I think they forgot this room.
The hotel is absolutely charming. It was like stepping back in time in the nicest possible way. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. The whole experience was a tremendous value.
The shuttle service was not as reliable as it should have been. The shuttle was supposed to leave at 7:30am. The driver was chatting to the front desk staff until 7:40. Almost missed an appointment. Late on the pickup, too.
