Breakfast was good, but compared to other riads the choices were limited. No fruits, only one kind of jam and butter and only one kind of pancakes. Coffee is not the best but you can ask for Moroccan tea.
It was the only Riad where we haven’t been welcomed with Moroccan tea. It’s a small thing but after 10 days in different riads across the country it stands out. During the check in it was clear that the reservation is for me and that I am paying but the guy at reception kept addressing everything to my dad what was quite disrespectful. Also they had us pay even before the sum blocked on my card was back on my account (week after comeback my card is still blocked). The patio and interior design is beautiful, but the rooms are tiny and dark. It’s impossible to do makeup or read anything. The AC and WiFi were poor too but that probably depends on the room. The water wasn’t flowing in our shower but the receptionist only said we have to remove some elements before shower (it isn’t very hygienic I would say). You can close the bathroom doors only by pushing them from the outside. Also if you book triple room you can’t sit on the lower bed without hitting the upper with your head. They charge 18€ (30€ for more than 3ppl) for the airport transfer, whereas regular taxi from outside the riad or airport shuttle bus costs 3€ per person. Except one receptionist the staff doesn’t speak English so when we asked one lady to solve our problem with AC in the evening she didn’t even understand.
The Riad Mahjouba is very well located and the staff is very VERY friendly! Big up for the decoration which is wonderful! Our stay in Marrakech was great, partly thanks to this Riad.
The acommodation in Riad was very good, clean and comfy rooms with colourful interior. No smell or mould, always hot water available. We were provided with extra blankets in the room in case we are cold (actually in Riad is always bit colder than outside but we didn't need blankets). Reasonable distance to Jemaa El-Fna square (10-15min walk through souks). Host are very kind and pleasant, many thanks for their hospitality!
Only remark/suggestion, goes towards the breakfast - a savory option would be great, otherwise if you enjoy sweet Moroccan pancakes or Msemmen, each morning we got fresh and hot, with butter and jam, orange juice and coffee.
Very helpful and friendly staff
