Had a great nights sleep
Bar and restaurant have been sympathetically renovated to blend contemporary colour with traditional setting.
Excellent location and the room we had (room 209) was huge with the best views of the beach and sea. Tea, coffee and kettle in the room too. Bar area was nice. Free parking on site, right outside reception was handy. All in all we had a good stay and would recommend.
It felt a bit expensive for a night in January. Hotel is old, which is lovely, but a bit tired in places. The bedroom and bathroom we had could do with being done up and the very creaky floorboards need some attention. It was very noisy to walk across the room and we could hear the guests upstairs as they walked around.
Really nice hotel. Very friendly welcome upon arrival. Room was amazing (Room 108). I asked for a room facing the sea and it didn't disappoint. I even had my own mini balcony. The room was spacious, clean and had everything I needed and more - free bottles of water in the room. I decided to eat in the bar which was spotless and I managed to sit in a very lovely beach hut within the bar. Food was generous and tasty - plenty to chose from on the menu. Bed was ultra comfy (I like a firm mattress). Breakfast I had in the dining room, again overlooking the immaculate beach. Nice choice of fruit, cereals and juices and the hot menu for breakfast covered a whole host of tastes. In all a great place to stay, so much so that I am looking to take my husband there for a night away. Uploaded some pics - forgive the quality of them.
The chocolate orange desert could have been more orange like!
breakfast choice was exceptional loved it! the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly.
applaud your aiming to be kind to the environment but the use of single use sachets for coffee etc seemed out of keeping with that.some things could be in little washable bowls < washed after each guest then refilled. also a mug instead of a cup would be good.
