Not a 4 star, it is 2/3 stars
The bed was not comfortable at all
The bed linen was clean. The bathroom was clean and modern. Tea and coffee was provided, along with an apple and banana in the room which I was grateful for in the morning before I left at 9am.
I was told upon check in that all single rooms are on the ground floor. The room was very tight and squashed. The view from the window was awful, it was peering into another room so I did not open the curtains at all, felt like 2 meters away from the next window of the opposite room. The room made me feel chlostraphobic and I will not be staying there again. Not worth the £96 i paid. I am glad I did not pay for breakfast because I couldn't wait to vacate the room in the morning and very much doubt the quality of it now.
You Pay for Location
Great location near Paddington Station and Hyde park. Beds were good size and staff was pretty accommodating
For the money the rooms were small. Seemed like they squeezed two large beds into a room that was meant for one. Lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. It’s an old building so the walls are very thin. The people above us decided to have a party the night before we had an early flight. After complaining multiple times to the front desk they did their best to keep the people above us from being too noisy. With two young kids it wasn’t conducive to getting them to bed. We paid almost £1000 for 4 nights. I expected a little more from the amenities (free breakfast maybe?). Overall the hotel did what we needed it to do but for the money I think it could have been better
Employees were great-very helpful.
