The hotel has perfect location, right in the city center
The hotel was practically empty when we came. The rooms are old and not very comfortable, the dining room does not receive any natural light and the hotel itself gives an impression of being a bit abandoned.
The Staff were all friendly.
We did not have running water for 14 hours one day of my stay which made it impossible to bathe. I had to use the toilet while the water was turned off and when I was able to flush the toilet 14 hours later the toilet bowl was backed up flowed onto the floor and on the carpet of the hotel.
The moment I left the hotel
- the hotel was old and badly cured -the staff didn’t utter a word of English , refused at first to call a taxi for us then made us pay the phone call - at breakfast there was almost nothing , we asked for some bacon that never arrived and we had breakfast in at Starbucks - the pillows were little and very uncomfortable - the shower was very old and water came down slowly - after the check out we left the luggage in a room and we spot vomit on the floor - must I add something ? I don,t think so
It is worth staying at this hotel for the experience of the bar and the old restaurant. The room was classical and comfortable, and you can sense the history of the hotel. As a 3 star hotel, its quite ok.
the breakfast was poor.
Great location, fantastic old wood panelled bar and dining room. Some great art work along the corridors.
No hot water. Staff advised to run tap for 10 mins. Still no hot water. Advised to run tap for 20 mins. Same result. Advised to run both shower and sink tap for 20 mins!!! Terrible breakfast, ( no choice: cold scrambled eggs served up with bad coffee. Staff bored and inattentive, other than the wonderfull Batman who has worked there for 50 years making great Pisco Sours. Bedroom carpet dirty.
