7,9 Good
Pros: Lots of fauna and flora to look at and beautiful everywhere you looked. Nice room and comfy bed. Patio was nice to sit outside. Pool was enjoyable to relax at and have a cocktail. Staff was excellent! Good breakfasts. Close to Volcano so location was good.
Cons: This property was definitely overpriced by $200 usd/day for the room. Room was nice but also felt dark and closed in. Restaurant dinner menus and wine bar seemed not very exciting.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all amazing...friendly and helpful. The warmth seemed genuine. The restaurants were all first class. Wine bar served great tapas as well as wines. The Asian restaurant served the best sushi we have eaten anywhere, including Japan! The Terrazza was great for breakfasts and lunches, Costa Rican dishes awesome. The flora and layout of the resort is spectacular. Our room was immaculate. Comfortable and clean. Cafecito coffee lounge served the best coffees we have encountered.
Cons: It took a day or so to understand the layout of the hotel grounds fully, perhaps the map could be a little clearer. We stayed 3 nights and never saw the volcano as under clouds continuously......but that is not the hotel’s fault, obviously.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Lovely room, friendly and super accommodating staff, great food, beautiful grounds.
Cons: Having to leave

10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the minute we arrived to a super warm welcome until we left this was a spectacular experience. Everything is done to make the guest feel completely at ease and well taken care of. We had a beautiful casita with an amazing jungle view. Staff was extremely knowledgeable and would always go the extra mile to help out in anyway they could. The food at La Terrazza restaurant where we ate most days was excellent, especially the breakfast buffet. We would love to return there.
Cons: No negatives at all.

The grounds were various pools and the restaurants were all just wonderful. Thank you very much for a delightful stay. Cons: I loved all of it!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is so beautiful, surrounded by nature and the Arenal volcano is right in front of you. The service was great, everyone was so nice and warm. The place is super clean. The hot pools are so great that we couldn't get out of them. The bars in the water are awesome! The only thing that was missing for me was more vegan options in breakfast and some nondairy milk for all of us, but as soon as I asked, they went out and bought me some at the shop. They also added to our breakfast every morning veggies and avocado per our request. Also, my daughter had her 12th birthday while we were there so I asked for a small cake to surprise her in the room. When we came back to the room after traveling all day, we saw that they have decorated the room so nice for her birthday! she was so happy and surprised. After a few minutes. Someone came with a small Bday cake and a candle- this was so nice! I defiantly recommend this hotel! We have such amazing memories from our stay. Thank you, guys!

Pros: Rooms, facilities
Cons: Price of breakfast
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Had a wonderful stay. Great location to explore the rain forest of Costa Rica. Had a wonderful room with beautiful views. Fabulous bathroom with huge Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great to come back to the resort after hiking, zip-lining and ATV-ing and relax at the hot springs. Will definitely return.
Cons: Breakfast was very expensive. Buffet was $25++. The bill was $125.00 for our family of 4. We shopped in town and had breakfast in the room. Was still enjoyable. There was a fridge, coffee. Would be nice to have options for breakfast.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Food options are limited and expensive.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Loved the place: the hotel and the spa were amazing. The spa is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The staff was always very and helpful. The food at the pool bar was really yummy and they made amazing cocktails especially piña coladas (in a fresh pineapple)
Cons: We weren’t very satisfied with the restaurant of the hotel.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: There was an excellent spread of food. Many healthy choices. And everything tasted delicious
Cons: There are not many restaurants near the hotel. The restaurants in the hotel are expensive. There’s not many options to eat near the hotel.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: The hot springs make it worth the price. We stayed for one night, but enjoyed two days on the hot springs and pools. We absolutely loved it and recommend it.
Cons: Do not expect great food. Both breakfast and dinner were highly overpriced for the quality. Dinner was so disappointing, we spent about $100 for two entrees, one appetizer and two beers, but the ribeye was could barely edible, and the special nothing to brag about. They also offer a buffet by the pool for $39/person, which we didn't try. Breakfast for $25/person was also a rip off considering I only enjoyed the fruits and yogurt. The rest of the buffet was not great, so I barely touched it. They need to invest in better food in my opinion...
9,6 Excellent
Pros: What is not to like about Tabacon resort. It is nice, people are so friendly that it hurts, it is a true 5 star hotel and you can not say anything. We were there 2 nightys, upgraded to suite for 40 USD per day extra (I wouldnt do that again). You dont really need bathtub in bathroom and terace was... well.... you cant smoke there so, again, not much use. Breakfast was as it should be, rich and tasty, tho sparkling water is extra and you should pay for it, which is, when u have only 3 tipes of drinks... just sad. In this rate the sparkling water or some other drinks would be great. In lot of 5 star hotels you even get unlimited sparkling wine... And, its not really cheap, I might add. And the pools are... oh my god, heaven on earth just got new name! It is a must do when in costa rica.
Cons: We had a set down in restaurant, more of a “all you can eat type”. Not worth 40 USD per person. It was good. Thats it. It should have been superb. The hotel and all resort set standards so high... so this restaurant is not reaching tabacon standards! (Thats why is 9,6 and not 10). But, it you dont have your own car and you dont wanna spend fortune in other restaurant, I guess this is only option... Sadly

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing hotel, an incredible experience, a superb resort. No superlative is exaggeration. Every aspect of the resort is a state of the art - the personnel, the service, the maintenance, the cleanliness, the quality of each and every detail, the rooms, the surrounding, the amenities, the pools, the springs, etc. etc. etc... Heaven on earth
Cons: This resort stands to the highest level of perfection. Complete satisfaction!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The surroundings were beautiful with the volcano as the backdrop. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Shuttle service to spa and springs was very timely.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Ultra luxury accommodations if u choose the Rainforest room. What makes this place extra special is the Shangri-La, the exclusive hotel guests only portion of the thermal spa. Can't wait to go there again!

Pros: Excellent hotel, with wonderful staff and clean. Very relaxing with multiple pools of different temperature water. Rooms were spacious and very clean. You definitely need a car if you want to visit the attractions in the area, though Uber worked well for us and was far less expensive than taxis.
9,7 Excellent

Cons: Food at rhe bar a little pricey
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very customer-centric, convenient to fun activities, interesting tours, and good restaurants
Cons: Breakfast and coffee not available until 6:30. Activities have early start times so breakfast at least by 6 would be better
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay, comfortable room, delicious food, out-of-this-world hot springs and outstanding service. Highly recommend it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we walked in, we were impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the pride they took in their work. Every person we interacted with seemed personally invested in making our stay great - and it was! All of the spa facilities and hot springs were immaculately clean and well-maintained (and I tried alllll of them!). The food was excellent too, but it's hard to be unhappy about anything when you can have a nightcap and ceviche at a swim-up bar in December! We also took advantage of their on-site tour coordinator and had some of the best experiences of our whole trip while staying here.
Cons: I always try to give some constructive feedback, but honestly everything about this place was fantastic.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Good food. Nice spa and thermal waters. Nothing to complain about. Significantly above the kind of phony nice service in Costa Rica.
Cons: Needs a larger fitness room. No shop for drinks, candy, etc.

Cons: Too far from other restaurants but Uber works Food rather bland Irratic breakfast service Disappointing style by one receptionist

Overview Reviews
Arenal Manoa Hotel is a beautiful place to rest, relax and enjoy the marvelous view of Arenal Volcano. Surrounded by gardens, pastures and animals, our rooms have been designed so that each one offers you a panoramic view of the volcano. Our visitors can take advantage of ourspacious gardens for walking and meditation as well as the opportunities to see the daily operations of a typical Costa Rican farm.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, an overall lovely and well maintained property.
Cons: The staff let the kids go crazy in the thermal spa and bar area..... lots of French fries in the water and balls splashing water into the drinks. Ruined the atmosphere of the thermal spa and our drinks. Bathrooms could really use a fan to help get rid of the humidity after showering.
6,0 Good
Cons: The hotel is certainly not living up to expectations for a plus 350 dollar/night stay. The room walls were not isolated and we could hear all the conversations of our neighbours. Wifi did not work for the entire stay. The breakfast, which had to be paid on top, was chaotic, scarce and not tasty. Personnel was not very helpful and did not respond well to our inquiries / challenges.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located perfectly, in the middle of the main attractions. We loved that basically each room was completely private, surrounded by luxurious vegetation. Everything in the room and on the property is natural, very little plastic and nothing looks cheap. The hot springs are awesome and one could relax there after a day of exploration. The property is maintained extremely well, it is spot clean, staff is extremely friendly. We got complememtary fresh fruits platter 2 days in a row. The coffee in the room is awesome. If you need something and you call front desk they will send what you need in less than 5 minutes. The restaurant is really great, fine dining in the area. Fresh food for all meals with basically everything natural. Another reviewer called this property "a hidden gen" and I completely agree. The pictures on most of the websites don't do real justice to the place.
Cons: They did not have a gym.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Value. Cleanliness.
Cons: Room is small
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort. Tranquil setting. spacious room with wonderful view of Arenal volcano. Attentive staff. Very good food.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing volcano view, close to Parque Nacional Volcán Arenal, Arenal 1968 and many other attractions. Excellent staff service, good wifi and good food. Very quiet and relaxing. Parking right in front of the guest house.
Cons: I doubt the so-called hot spring is just a swimming pool with warm water, the water doesn’t seem/smell like hot spring water.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, off main road. Quiet. Great breakfast Buffett and dinner options
Cons: Charge for everything. Free water in room would have been nice. Shuttle into town cost 15 one way!! Complimentary shuttle would have been nice. Mattress very hard
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hotel! Too bad we only stayed one night because they were booked. The photos in the internet does no justice. The staff was very nice and everything was very clean. The room was large and it felt like a luxury hotel. The garden was very pretty and very well kept. The view of the volcano was beautiful. My daughter and her husband got a massage at the spa and they said the setting was beautiful in the lush gardens next to a river. The hot spring pool are drained and new water is put in in the morning. Loved everything about the hotel. Only regret is that we didn't stay there more days. We went the next day to another hotel that was more expensive and was not as nice.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I cannot say enough about our stay at the Volcano Lodge and Springs. We booked it because the rainy season rates were hard to pass up and because 95% of previous guests rated it Excellent. The room rates were so low that I wondered if the ratings could be true...but I have never had more good things to share about a hotel experience! We stayed in a superior room with an amazing view of Arenal from our porch. The property is designed so that the view from your patio makes you feel like you are at a private villa. All we saw before us was Arenal and lush vegetation. There were people next to us but we never saw or heard them. You couldn't even see where the cars were parked. It was almost total solitude. The room was attractive and clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower was always warm. Our room was only a short walk from the main pool and mineral springs which was a pleasant surprise. Others will have to walk further but the grounds are so nice that the walk is like a stroll in a garden. I read some reviews that the breakfast was adequate but nothing special. I have no idea what they were talking about! To me it was a wonderful daily brunch. We stayed 4 nights and looked forward to each morning. Most food items stayed the same but how can you complain about having fresh bananas, pineapple, papaya, and watermelon, three different breads for toasting, pancakes, scrambled eggs, rice and beans, sweet plantains, lunch meat and cheese, a waffle station and made to order egg station with 6 toppings for omelets, OJ and Mango / Banana juice, and coffee to pick from? There were also two breakfast breads each day that varied and one or two different Costa Rican hot items each day that included small sausages, chicken or sausages in a creamy tomato sauce, and several types of what they called "hash"…potato based one time and green bean based another. To top it off, the restaurant has a great view of Arenal and the pool / mineral springs area and an attentive and cheerful staff. They even attached their old bananas to a nearby tree each morning to attract birds! The pool was clean and the mineral springs area very relaxing. They just added a second hot springs and bar. The grounds are filled with beautiful plants and fruit trees with a running / walking nature trail that they are just getting going. It was a bit confusing but we loved it…especially watching the intricate world of leaf cutting ants! Bottom line...you will love this place!

Pros: Great pool, amazing staff, very clean. Good location.
Cons: Wifi was weak if some places, but not a big deal!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the thermal pools were great and we were really pleased with the onsite restaurant. We had breakfast, lunch & dinner there during our stay and all were excellent!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great cocktails and wonderful facilities
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We spent five days here for a relaxing break in our travels around Costa Rica. Every detail was attended to a this hotel... the hot springs are marvelous. The service was fantastic, every inch of the resort is groomed. The pools are also very clean and large enough for swimming short laps. We ate out in La Fortuna a few times but found that the food at the hotel was better and reasonably priced. No real reason to eat out... breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious! For the reasonable price of the hotel, we felt this was a fantastic deal. We were pampered and impressed!
Cons: Well it rained heavily for most of our stay, but that didn't stop us from loving the hot springs. Nothing quite like soaking in steamy waterfalls with rain falling all around.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic hotel great if traveling with a baby. The thermal pools are all around the resort so you feel like you have your own the staff was great the rooms are spacey and the town is just beside it was a great place for us.
Cons: The walls are thin we had loud neighbors so we could hear their conversations to full extent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was outstanding. The place itself is very taken care of and has some really cool details like a trail around the property for jogging through the jungle or the way they place fruit on trees just outside the restaurant so birds come down to eat. The thermals are amazing. The staff is top notch in friendliness, helpfulness and they take special care in training them on the activities you can do in the town outside the hotel; they could all explain perfectly on what the tours consisted on and what you can really expect from them, without overselling them. Also, the photos posted here on the site DO NOT DO JUSTICE TO THE PLACE. The facilities are a million times better than what the photos show.
Cons: A bit annoying that all prices are stated in USD rather than local currency, which makes it difficult to know if you're getting a good exchange rate. Even if you pay in local currency you will be charged in USD (except for cash payments, obviously).
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, great breakfast, clean. Lots of pool and jacuzzi options, and the small ones were almost always empty.
Cons: Lots of road noise (engine braking), at least from our room. Didn't notice from other areas on the property.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotsprings, rooms and food was amazing! Best location to travel around Arsenal.
Cons: Honestly I can’t come up with anything that needed improvement. Fantastic!
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothings
Cons: The restaurant
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a natural park. The room with the private pool is wonderful. The breakfast is complete and of high quality.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set in stunning scenery and the grounds are fantastic it has been very well thought through. Very friendly helpful staff and easy to find. They served some delicious cocktails and they were always made to perfection! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons: The only thing that let it down was That the food wasn't really that great. We had different steaks both nights and both times they were over cooked and tough. The breakfast is a buffet and again could just use a bit more attention.

Pros: The view ( and it was really foggy) The lady at the reception was so nice
Cons: The room are big but really cold and a little bit dirty, they say they have the spa but they only have a pool outside and there is always rainy and cold for us it, the street for arrive up to the hotel is really nice but not clean and a little bit difficult to made un the night with no light, we found a tree on the way back from our dinner, we found the way to pass by and when we arrive at the reception and tell them that about it they say us “it is not on our property, this is not our problem” totally creazy.. for me the price is absolutely to much for the location and the service NOT RACCOMANDED.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The lodge is in a beautiful area. There are tons of walking trails and animals that come visit. It’s a great deal for the amenities. Definitely stay here if you love being in nature.
Cons: We had ants in our room everyday and they even got into my vitamins (which were gummies). I would suggest you don’t pack those if you are staying here and also be careful with bringing food or anything ants might like. Also, be aware that the location is high up in the mountain and it gets dark at night. This really wasn’t a downside for us, but we tried to be back at the hotel around sunset to avoid any accidents on the road.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place. Very delicious food. Friendly staff. Everything was perfect.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were amazing and we loved that we had access to the National Park trails. The Jacuzzi was a nice treat after a long day of hiking. The views were breath-taking! Access to other activities was relatively easy but the roads are not great. Town was about a 30 minute drive away. Nice breakfast buffet provided free of charge!
Cons: It would be nice to have screens on the front doors as well so you could have both the patio door (which had a screen) and front door open to allow a cross-breeze. The room became a bit stuffy and buggy during the day without this. Also it would be good if t pool was heated to allow swimming year round. The prices for food at the restaurant were expensive. The Happy Hour (2 for 1) would be better if they allowed for 2 different drinks vs. 2 of the same kind of drink. Finally a shuttle to town that ran even just 3 times a day would be a great perk!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved having so many hikes/walks to do right on the property and a very good restaurant as well. It was so nice having nature and animals outside our door each day. The staff was warm, welcoming, helpful and friendly. There were plenty of activities to do on the grounds for all ages: pool, foosball/game room, checkers, books, TVs in the main buildings and a hot tub.
Cons: Be aware that the Lodge is a 20-25 minute drive from La Fortuna up a somewhat rough dirt road. If you have your own vehicle it's easy to get to and from, but without a bit more challenging. There are taxis that cost $30 each way or a shuttle 3x/day from the lodge.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The trails and waterfall.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Gourmet restaurant, surrounded by incredible rainforest growth. Every room has a view. Full range of hiking opportunities. Outstanding pool and hot tub set into a wilderness forest setting and so much more
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views of Arenal Volcano. We did the morning hike which was included in the booking. The guide, Christian, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We even booked him for a lava hike. It was super!
Cons: Not much.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was amazing. The jacuzzi and pool were great. They surprised us with treats for our honeymoon. We had a great time walking the trails and looking for wildlife. I'm glad we decided to spend a couple nights here!
Cons: The on-site restaurant was expensive.
9,4 Excellent
Cons: Prices or food were a bit expensive...we had a car so we drove to La Fortuna
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, views and surroundings were fabulous. Staff were ultra helpful.
Cons: It would have been helpful to have a small desk and chair in the room for using computer. Morning nature walk was a bit disappointing, as guide only occasionally stopped to point something out. Food was only fair.

Pros: Staff at the swim up bar was very nice and energetic. Had a great time hanging out there.
Cons: Staff was much more helpful in reception the last time I stayed here. Seemed to be in a hurry to check us in rather than explain what there was to offer.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the hot springs- really good to have access to them included in the price which made it good value. The gardens at the hotel were beautiful and lots of birds, lizards and butterflies to see. There are stables on site and a great ride up to the observation point. Horses well kept and cared for. The shower was really good - best I found on holiday. Big choice for breakfast and good quality.
Cons: Staff not as friendly or helpful as other hotels I stayed at but this is a big hotel I suppose. It would be much better to have Wi-fi available in rooms rather than just communal buildings. I was in a basic room and just two beds a long side board and a wardrobe. The only chair was on the veranda outside the room which other guests walked past to get to their rooms. One bed was good other really old and lumpy. Safe old and had to get an engineer to help me open it.

Pros: Free shuttle within the facility

Pros: Can't say enough about this resort. After being at a lesser resort early in the week, this place was that much more amazing and cheaper! Our room was very up to date and beautiful. I think it was 120 and it was on the same level as the amenities. Some people up the hill might not have found it as convenient but we were super close to the pools etc. The mattresses and linens were 4 star hotel quality. The tile walk in shower in the bathroom was huge. The water pressure was fantastic. The room was larger than a standard hotel room. The many hot springs were fun. The breakfast buffet was varied and tasty. Definitely a top notch resort. My favorite thing is the observatory at the top looking at the volcano. I got up for two sunrises up there and it was amazing. Saw some wild boar and toucans on my short drive up there. If you go past the observatory even higher there's an abandoned church ruin with great views. The garden was cool with separate butterfly garden, turtles and a crocodile. I didn't get see the animals in the petting zoo part. Sorry I can't turn my pics the right way.
Cons: I was a little freaked out by no lifeguards and kids running and horse playing around the pools but I guess different cultures handle things differently. The slides are really fast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant for dinner is excellent. The mineral and cold pools are wonderful. Great for families as there are several shallow warm pools. There is a shuttle bus every 20 minutes for the rooms that are up the hill
Cons: I had booked a room with 2 double beds, several months before arrival. They gave me a room with 1 double bed and a single. We got another room with 2 double beds, but no coffee maker and it was like the room was new and not finished with furniture
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Pools and slides, plus the amazing volcano view!
Cons: Rooms were simple - could have been slightly updated. But very comfortable.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: The hotel property was tropically lush, well maintained and beautiful. They had a butterfly enclosure, a rare red frog enclosure, water, crocodiles and nice paved walkways. Wonderful view of the Arenol volcano. Our room was very large with a big closet and bath. It also had a front and back door with beautiful views for morning coffee. Breakfast buffet was good with a big variety of items and nice patio to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Cons: The beds were extremely hard, I had to lay out all my pillows and sleep on them.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Pools, breakfast, tours
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice place. Good privacy even in shared houses with private verandas. Lots of pools and other stuff to do. Great breakfast. Restaurant doesn't do takeout and pool bar, which does, was very slow, though otherwise ok. And technically they ban food from the outside. So with a small baby going to sleep early, dinner was a problem. Thankfully there are minifridges (no microwaves or coffee pots, though) and no one enforces the ban. Also water slides, while fun, are a bit dangerous - the pools are too shallow for them to be used by adults without bruising an elbow or back
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great views of the valley and the mountains We could see and hear several different varieties of birds sitting in our balcony Decent breakfast in the morning Helpful staff
Cons: $50/night for kids. Most hotels don't have extra charge for kids, the one's that have are $10-$25.. $50 is a bit too much, especially with no information upfront Registration Staff was very helpful, but did not have a lot of information outside of Monteverde. Ordering anything to the room would take a long time to get. Concierge/Travel Desk was under-staffed. One of the person at the desk was rude and not eager to help. Other person was very helpful.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Hot springs and garden were absolutely beautiful! Breakfast buffet was delicious and plenty.
Cons: No wifi in the rooms and no flexibility in refund when my flight was delayed.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: View of volcano was beautiful. The thermal springs were relaxing. We had a good time.
Cons: Some of the prices were hiked up. They made a mistake with our billing, so pay attention when checking out.

Pros: Bird life right off our porch was great! Toucans flying by and landing close was a treat. The service was excellent and very helpful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hot tubs, the landscaping, and just the outdoor area in general was awesome.
Cons: I wish there had been a shuttle service to take guests to local attractions
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Personnel was very nice and helpful
Cons: Didn't like the hotel at all, it's so overpriced. Room was smelling very bad Cleaning of room was kinda late Rooms itself were okay, but could be better for this price
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We very much enjoyed our stay here. The pool area and the hot tubs are great. The staff was very helpful and friendly at all times. The breakfast was very good as it included local food as well. The location was very good as it was a little further away from the city and quiet. We recommend this for people who have a car.
Cons: The bathroom needs refurbishing. The shower was very old and it was difficult to figure out how to use the tabs. There is hardly any space in the bathroom either and bad lighting. The wifi was awful. It hardly ever worked. After two days we complained and they somehow managed to make it work.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is stunning. You feel surrounded by nature like you are in the middle of a tropical forest. The room was lovely. We had a balcony that made possible to enjoy the view. The breakfast was excellent.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Welcoming personnel. Very nice swimming pool area with many Jacuzzi. Convenient location for Fortuna waterfall and Arenal.
Cons: Should have a room with tumble dryers for guests. Considering it rains often and all the water activities (waterfall rappelling, Venado Caves, river rafting, etc, I'm surprised the hotels in the area don't offer that. Most people go to the laundries in the village.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and scenery, idyllic pool and jacuzzi area that is peaceful and private. It beats going to the hot springs which are overcrowded. The spa service was incredible and in a beautiful hideaway spot, highly recommend treating yourself to the Luna massage and body scrub combo. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Perhaps slightly expensive but worth it for the calm and peaceful feel of the location, 3-5 min drive from the main strip of La Fortuna.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The resort was a beautiful setting lots of greenery and a very friendly and accommodating staff. Had a plumbing problem first day but it was quickly resolved. Food was good and location was close to town but still tucked away.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were beautiful. Great pool - especially the jacuzzi pools. The restaurant food, friendly staff, free welcome drink on arrival, good breakfast, the wildlife walk where we saw toucans and a monkey, the happy hour and the open restaurant with the bird table. The location was good for the town and views.
Cons: We were in a downstairs superior double and it felt rather claustrophobic possibly due to the high windows. The shower was difficult to regulate.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful. The pool and hot tubs are great. When we checked in we took advantage of the special at the spa. The spa is amazing the massage was fine but the location is unbelievable, the room was open on one side facing the jungle and river I have never been to a spa before where the nature sounds were real and not played through speakers.
Cons: It's the jungle do you have to expect some bugs. There were tiny ants everywhere at the resort they did not bother anything but seeing ants crawl through the room lowers the cleanliness score to 4 stars. That being said I would stay here again in a heartbeat even with the ants.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. This is a special spot, with a wonderful breakfast and lush surroundings. We highly recommend it!!
Cons: Not enough furniture for clothes, like a dresser with drawers. Also, too far from town.

Pros: The location is amazing, food is delicious and the spa it's awesome
Cons: It was difficult to get to without a car. By that i mean, a shuttle from la fortuna to the hotel would be great.
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: The checkout went fast, that was the best part
Cons: We could hear everything from our neighbours . They didn’t do anything wrong , they were just talking. Impossible to relax , or to sleep. Lady at to check in is skilled in upselling, offer a lot of extra tours but doesn’t really listen to your needs. The total hotel try to sell and the employees want extra money for everything they do. The breakfast was nothing special, there were not enough people to clean the tables so around 09:30 it was a total mess in the restaurant . No one was in lead. Ordering nachos guacamole in roomservice will cost you 37 USD Driving to center at evening is almost impossible , so that’s why they can ask you these crazy prices Baddest hotel experience in a long time

Cons: Good needs work
7,0 Good
Pros: Saw capuchin monkeys passing by the entrance. There's a nice 40min hike around the hotel. The staff is great, we received a warm welcome.
Cons: Strong smell of fried oil coming from the restaurant all day long. Our room was in the first building above the restaurant and thus smelled like a fast food place. Could not stay on the balcony or open the balcony for the same reason.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location as well as great staff. Very friendly. Beautiful grounds.
Cons: Can’t think of a thing
5,8 Okay
Pros: Beautiful room, grounds and location.
Cons: Dinner was mediocre, room lacked electrical outlets near the bed, steep hill between rooms and pool/bar/restaurant and lobby.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was amazing kinda weird people could see me showering though
Cons: The restaurant was subpar and tore my belly up
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is the very best place to nature lovers. With lots of activities (hiking, trailing, hanging bridges, bird and animal watching, kayaking and rafting and more) within or just adjacent to the resort. Rooms are enormous, clean, well equipped with a beautiful, really spacious balcony viewing Arenal Volcano. The double hot tub is such fun - relaxing your mussels in a private corner on the balcony while watching the view and the rain. Every corner respects and enhances sustainability and local culture. All staff members are friendly and helpful. The front desk is just amazing. The restaurant serves 4 different menus, from bar food, lunch, healthy to dinner. We managed to taste quite a few dishes - many of them at a level of signature chef’s grade. Bar tenders are professional. Sitting at the bar in the hot pool in the rain is so enjoyable. The spa is beautiful and highly recommend.
Cons: We found the resort satisfying. All the photos at hotel site completely suit the actual place.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful. They have a golf cart that you call and they drive you around the property because it's so large. The jacuzzi is nice and clean, with great scenery. We also really enjoyed the outdoor shower. There were no bugs which we were worried about. We completely forgot to check out the pool.
Cons: The doors to the patio do not stay shut. So when you're out on the chair or in the jacuzzi the wind keeps knocking them open which lets the bugs in. There needs to be an actual door handle and not just a deadbolt. The internet is also very slow. The restaurant is expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This place was beautiful!! Location was excellent! Pool was nice and heated. Would definitely return.
Cons: Wish that the pool bar was open for longer.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Organising beforehand was straightforward and check in really simple. They have golf carts to take you around if needed so very useful in the rain instead of walking up the steep hill. There’s big umbrellas everywhere as well to borrow. The view of the volcano is just stunning. The grounds and the pool are well maintained and relaxing. There’s a lot of activities to choose from, water and land based plus trails that you can do so if you wanted you would never need to leave the resort at all.
Cons: Just to be aware it’s about a 20-25 minute drive out of town, which could be seen as a positive or negative. Some of the staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, but not all. The restaurant is quite expensive for the value you get. Also there’s a $10 charge for room service. The extractor fan is very loud in the bathroom and there was an intermittent odd smell. There was a large shelving unit in our room that seemed redundant.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed and maintained resort deep in the jungle. Hummingbirds, Monkeys and other creatures surround you. The private hotel trail is actually better than guided tours. It's a must walk. Rooms are large and have excellent views. Hotel staff are super friendly.
Cons: Be prepared for the rain! But it is the Rainforest!

Pros: Strongly recommended. The staff is super friendly and provide lots of information. The location is near to downtown, close to DT but pretty quiet at night.
Cons: I feel the night frog tour I booked with the hotel is pricy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Nice swimming pool with the view on volcano Arenal. Great breakfast and free voucher to hot springs.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very welcoming, pleasant and friendly. The room was very comfortable, air conditioning worked beautifully and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great. Great variety of food, fresh and natural juices. Local tastes. We arrived late for breakfast as they were closes down and one of the cooks was nice enough to come over and ask us if we wanted fresh eggs and she prepared them for us. We had 2 rooms with 2 double/queen beds. We would stay again!
Cons: I really can't say anything bad. The only thing that was a little different was we didn't have hand towels for the shower. But I understand that I am just use to using hand towels in the shower being from the US and many other countries may not use them. This is more of a personal preference, than anything, and I personally would not hold it against the property. Sometimes it's nice to break away from the norm. :)

Pros: Hotel with beautiful location overlooking the Arenal volcano! Lovely little cottage-style rooms, with a little "bar" (counter/stool/sink/fridge) area included, which was helpful. Great breakfast buffet, lovely jacuzzi and swimming pool. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: The restaurant in the hotel (Italian food) is pretty overpriced and not that good--you're better off driving to La Fortuna and eating there. The tours offered by the hotel are also outrageously expensive. Best option is to come with a car and do things yourself!

Pros: Attentive staff. good view of volcano. Nice landscaping. Comfy beds and nice size rooms.
Cons: Pools onsite were Luke warm, not thermal. The restaurant food was not good and overpriced. Except breakfast, which was serviceable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was by far the fanciest (and most expensive) place we stayed at in CR. We were only there for a night and due to a late checkin and early checkout we didn’t get to experience all the amenities. We love the jacuzzi in the room. It was also a great location for viewing the volcanoes and for accessing the hot river and town. The staff were Uber friendly and helpful.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We LOVED this hotel. Hot tub in the room was awesome! Amazing views out of the floor to ceiling windows. Food was excellent - really good buffet breakfast with beautiful views of the volcano. Coffee was delicious! My favourite thing had to be the grounds / garden and hot springs on site. It was beautifully maintained with little pathways all around. We spent lots of time in the lovely hot springs watching all the different kinds of birds (including lots of hummingbirds!) flying and feeding around us. There was also barely anyone there when we stayed so often had them to ourselves!! (Early/mid December). They also have hot springs off site which we went to and they were also lovely (free of charge!).
Cons: Literally couldn't fault this place - I would love to go back!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible view IF the clouds clear which only happened for 2 hours on our final morning. The suites are big and spacious with huge windows, we were in block 12 which is more private than the other blocks but is lower than all the others so you get a different view. In some ways its not as good as other blocks but in other ways its closer to the jungle and so better for bird watching.
Cons: The hotel feels old in places and is quite corporate in feel. Don't get me wrong it isn't a corporate hotel but was clearly built several years ago. Nice jacuzzi in the rooms but friends stayed in other hotels for less with wonderful jacuzzis outside surrounded by lush vegetation. Main restaurant isn't worth staying for dinner, better places to go.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Everyone’s super nice and helpful. They helped us make online ferry reservations that was only in Spanish. They gave us a pass the first morning when we forgot comp breakfast times and allowed us to still eat. Beautiful resort and hot springs. Guarded facility
Cons: The hot tub takes a long time to heat up and doesn’t have clear instructions on the buttons manual.

Pros: Very big and comfortable room with a terrace with a wonderful volcano view. A lot of nature around, you can sit and watch birds on the terrace. Great traditional breakfast with fruits and coffee. Helpful staff! Two pools, big one with hot spring water! Delicious cocktails at the pool bar!
Cons: Really nothing.
5,8 Okay
Pros: A couple miles out side out town. Quite location and nice grounds. Small pool and single hot springs pool with small bar.
Cons: Staff overall wasn’t very friendly. Polite but not very nice. Rooms were nice but cleaning wasn’t very good. One day staff took our used towels and didn’t leave any fresh ones. When we checked in we were given a room with broken safe. We asked them to move us and they only reluctantly did. Breakfast was average. Last day we’re we’re there they stopped breakfast early without notice.

Pros: Great location, property was gorgeous and well maintained. So many flowers and birds. Coffee maker in the room is always a plus. Comfortable patio furniture. Kid friendly.
Cons: There wasn’t always someone at the bar/restaurant when you wanted a drink or food. you could go to the desk and ask if you needed something...but sometimes that was annoying.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved that place! In the nature with view at the Arenal Volcano and private hot springs..The perder place to be after a day of hiking and exploring. Nice breakfast and super friendly staff. Super confortabile bed...best mattress I slept on in Costa Rica :-). I would definitely stay again at Miradas Arenal Hotel.

Pros: All rooms with a nice volcano view. The rooms are clean. Just 10 minutes driving to La Fortuna center. Pool area is small but nice with a great volcano view.
Cons: Definitely understaffed. Same person taking care of reception and serving at the restaurant (breakfast). So expect waiting time when you require something. The person in charge of the pool bar during my last day was not careful with orders (food and drinks). Internet is very slow. The main gate to enter the property is closed at 10 pm, so you have to inform them in case you are arriving later.

Pros: Friendly husband and wife owners who ran the place were honest, informative, and accommodating. Very helpful in booking tours and shuttles. They gave us good deals, better than online offers! They shared good stories about the area. As fellow Californians, they spoke perfect English and made us feel at ease. Great value for the price. We extended our stay here, since we found it relaxing and liked the town of La Fortuna. The property sits on the edge of town, quiet but downtown is only a $3 taxi ride. You do wake up to the chatter of birds, which is quite refreshing. Restaurants and grocery store were walking distance. Taxis were readily available. The Sloth Park is just a mile down the road. Relatively good sized room. Bed sheets were always clean. Bathroom had strong hot water. Although some face towels would've been useful. A/C was powerful... my wife loved it. We enjoyed our kitchenette. Good TV and strong free Wifi. I would definitely recommend this place to couples and families traveling on a budget.
Cons: Curtains were a bit thin, that we felt we could be seen from the outside.
6,7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Convenient, affordable. Has a mini fridge. We were only there one night so can't add more than that. Hot shower. Car park is off the street.
Cons: A bit dreary, old furnishings. Clean but older.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: So close to all the sights around and they treated us like family!
Cons: Proximity of room to street (a little noisy) but most rooms are away from the street.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable to be on the main road, a supermarket is only 350 meters away. The place has DHL and booking tour service, which is comfortable since you do not have to go out and look for travel agencies. Bathrooms and clean rooms, good and modern shower.
Cons: Some of the promised appliances were missing, such as the kettle. The WiFi does not go very well to all the facilities, the signal cuts often. At night there was very loud noise from another hotel (microphone, karaoke and music) on weekdays and late into the night, this made it a bit difficult to rest. The excellent service was overshadowed by the low quality of the facilities.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Apt was clean, comfortable, adequately furnished. Daily cleaning and linen change was nice.
Cons: Wifi was sometimes weak in the apt, worked better in the garden. No toaster.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful.

Pros: The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely polite and helpful in all the areas in which we interacted. The grounds were various pools and the restaurants were all just wonderful. Thank you very much for a delightful stay. I would definitely come back and recommend this lovely resort to friends and family!
Cons: I loved all of it!

Cons: Food options are limited and expensive.

Pros: There was an excellent spread of food. Many healthy choices. And everything tasted delicious
Cons: There are not many restaurants near the hotel. The restaurants in the hotel are expensive. There’s not many options to eat near the hotel.

Sadly

Cons: Food at rhe bar a little pricey

Pros: Great location, very customer-centric, convenient to fun activities, interesting tours, and good restaurants

Pros: Excellent staff. Good food. Nice spa and thermal waters. Nothing to complain about. Significantly above the kind of phony nice service in Costa Rica.
Cons: Needs a larger fitness room. No shop for drinks, candy, etc.
