A very nice hostel having all the convinience thats necessary for a stay in Kuching and around. The peronal is very friendly and helpful. Attached to the hostel there's a nice rooftop bar and a cafe. I can fully recommend to stay at this place.
The Lodge is very good located. The common area is comfortable. The room is small but it has everything you need. Free coffee.
The doorlock could be opened easily with everything, you did not need a key. Not very safe.
Good location and reasonable common areas. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar is as good as ever.
They put us in one of the private rooms in the basement. The room was dark, there were two dead cockroaches in the corner of the bedroom, and im pretty sure that there was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Not what I expected, but didnt want to complain as we were only there for a couple of days.
Great location, staff are super friendly and very helpful. Has a comfy homey quality about it. Great common area that allows travellers many opportunities to interact and discuss their plans or arrange to tour or hang out together. Free coffee in lounge, bar on rooftop, small restaurant on ground floor with selection of food and a few gift options...open 7am until 6pm. Self service laundry around the block, close to many great restaurant options for all budgets and walkable to most central town sites. Out of town tours and treks offered at reception.
I was really surprised at the cost of the tours offered thru the guesthouse. They may be comparable to other companies in Kuching I just haven't experienced these kinds of costs in Asia for this type of tour. The good news is that a couple of the sites are very accessible by local bus and if you can round up 2-3 others to go, pick up and drop off by Grab Cab is an inexpensive option to share. Having a knowledgeable guide certainly adds value but I still find the prices steep. If you are on your own, you have to put your name down and hope to find people to go with, which is reasonable but I'd suggest being a lot more proactive or you may not see things. When costs are that high, many people have to chose one or maybe two trips...or none. Pull back on the prices and everyone benefits. Many guests were seeking other options, workarounds, which meant fewer bookings through reception.
