Phranang Place

Breakfast was great! Nice and quiet air conditioning. "Mountain view" rooms (on the back side) are very quiet. You won't hear the (busy) street at all. Good location (although major construction activities and traffic might bother you if you have a street-side room). There is a pool (although we didn't use it)

First impressions were not great. Like many places in Thailand, cleanliness and maintenance is a problem. I'm sure the sheets and pillow covers have been washed before making the bed, but if they have large nasty looking stains in them which don't come off during washing... throw them away! I'm surprised this needs to be said in 2020. If the hotel wants to use white sheets and towels, you better make damn sure they look clean (and don't have holes in them, which they did). I don't like to harass the staff, but it took 2 tries for the bed to look clean. And the towels are so old they are falling apart. This old/dirty textile problem really shouldn't be that hard to solve. Just invest in some new linen and towels :S. Then there were the pillows. Not sure if it was an accident, but we got 1 normal and 1 weird pillow that was so unbelievably unforgiving and uncomfortable that it felt like sleeping on a beach ball. Decided to sleep on a towel instead. This was corrected the next day after receiving a second "normal" pillow. Also the hotel consists of 2 parts: the new and the old building. The rooms in the old building could use some updating, but suffice for a short stay. Also keep in mind there is no elevator in the old building. Our room had an awkward bathroom with the sink inside the bedroom, with very little light by the mirror which was very annoying. We didn't have a "do not disturb" sign, which was annoying in the mornings. Especially since you can hear everything going on in the hallway due to the door not sealing properly. Finally: "mountain view", while technically correct doesn't really live up to expectation (at all), see photo.

Large room with terrace. Breakfast is nice as well as the rooftop view.

Beds could be improved, AC is noisy, room are a bit old but enough for short stay.

Location was good: on the main avenue Breakfast area was lovely

4 floors by stairs I’d you stay in the old area of the property (you can’t choose). Bed sheets and towels were extremely dirty; we asked for them to change the sheets and the other ones were also full of stains. Staff is rude: they mixed the laundry clothes with other guests and then told us that we took a t-shirt that was not ours (and we had proof that we had that t-shirt before in previos photos). English level of the staff was really poor.
