Pros: We can confidently say this is definitely the one and only place to stay in Knysna! Owners simply make the difference on your trip. The hospitality from Ines and Andi is outstanding. We never stayed at a lodge with so much love to detail. The house and garden are beautiful, the view over the lagoon is stunning, but what stood out the most is the breakfast which is just UNBELIEVABLE. As a regular business traveller, I very often stay at different five star hotels for business trips but the breakfast at Candlewood is just the best!! Andi gave us very customized local advice which allowed us to really make the most of our time in Knysna. Thanks again Ines and Andi.

Pros: Oh my god, what a fabulous place. Luxurious like you cannot imagine. The small personalised notes, the details around the selections and the decor in the rooms leave you gaping. Ines and Andi run such a fantastic place and with so much of friendly welcome and hospitality that you do not want to leave. The views of the lagoon are simply breathtaking ( we had 2 rooms on the 1st floor overlooking the lagoon and with a running verandah) and you want to wake up early to savour every moment. And the best for the last, their breakfast deserves a Michelin star (am not joking), and you have to keep aside a minimum of 1.5 hours for it, there is no rushing here as you will want to sample everything which has been freshly baked and cooked and lovingly and proudly served. Give a rating of 10++.

Pros: The location close to knysna heads on leisure island is really great. We loved the beautiful interior and also the pretty surroundings outside with a lovely pool area and many little places to chill and hang out. Due to some rain and our short stay we couldn’t take advantage of the bike and kayak rental, but it is a wonderful opportunity to explore the area. They even offer a pre booked dinner, which we really enjoyed a lot after a busy day. We would definitely stay again!

Pros: Wonderful place and lovely people. The view from the house and the apartments are wonderful. We could easily walk to waterfront and everyone was super nice! Breakfast was delicious and served outside with a view over Knysna and it’s Lagoon. We can only recommend this place!

Pros: We had a very nice stay at the Hide Away Guesthouse. A very warm welcome by the owner. Good location (lagoon view and close to the center and waterfront), clean room and comfortable shower. The owners are very helpful and we will recommend the guesthouse!

Pros: Hide Away is a nice place to stay at. Colline, the owner, was very nice and helpful. The little swimmingpool added a lot and we got towels to take with us to te beach (never happened before). The breakfast was very nice, big plus on that one as well! The room was nice and had a terrace with a relaxing view towards the water.

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay at the Knysna Manor House. The owners were welcoming and so kind. I was in Knysna to do the half marathon and Glen woke up at the crack of dawn to help shuttle us to the start. A special breakfast was prepared for us with protein bars etc to eat before our race. Overall my stay was so memorable. The normal breakfast is absolutely delicious and my room was comfortable, cozy and clean. I will definitely be coming back to stay again. Thank you

Cons: They must put a fence on the front because there is a room which is at the front with no burglar bars on the door and it's just next to the road which has dodgy people passing. That room is not safe at night.

Cons: I thought the WiFi could have been stable throughout. On 2 or 3 nights, say between 7 and 9 pm, I noted fluctuations in the strength, at times to a point of automatic disconnection. Probably due to lots of traffic. A boost, with subsequent stability, would be most welcome.
