Pros: This one is an absolute gem - doesn't look that impressive from the outside, but once you check in - it holds too many surprises to tell and discover during your stay! It has a great private Jacuzzi in many rooms which slides to the porch; the spa is amazing and free to use to all guests - it includes hot & wet saunas; 2 solarium rooms and a huge indoor/outdoor heated pool with jacuzzi jets as well. The food is awesome at dinner and launch time, though a bit expensive. The room was all wood and smelled great while the Alps view from its porch - was breath-taking. Hot water was in abundance at any given hour. Parking was always free and available. There is a very convenient & big lift to take you up to any floor, which size was greater than most hotel lifts. The hotel staff was accommodating above and beyond - checking us in after midnight - even though reception does not usually operate at these hours and despite that we never called to say we are checking in late.
Cons: Breakfast is very rudimentary and it was virtually impossible to get the coffee machine to produce a cappuccino; it paled in comparison to the lavishing lunch and dinner and was a great disappointment, particularly when you got used to all the other amazing features and exquisite services this hotel offers. It was not possible to communicate with the hotel over booking.com messages - my suggestion - just call them directly if you have any special requests or questions. Sound proofing is not great and you can hear muffled voices of guests in adjacent rooms.
6,0 Good
Pros: The location with mountain views and proximity to convenience stores
Cons: The shower area in the bathroom was not separated properly so the entire bathroom would be wet. Also upon telling the staff that we were there for a special occasion, they made absolutely no extra effort to even address it in any special way. I found that extremely impersonal.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Silent area, comfortable bed, big terase with nice mountain view. Good food in local restaurant. Parking available free of charge. Overall good location with nice restaurants around.
Cons: Weak water pressure in shower, desinfectant odour in breakfast room. In reception we were told that breakfast starts at 7:30 while in reality it started in 8:00 and bacon was delivered only after 8:00 when we already finished our breakfast.
7,0 Good
Pros: Rooms are big and clean. staff is nice and helpful.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Restaurant (breakfast and dinner). The balcony jacuzzi
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are perfect and cozy, staff is very friendly, and the hotel is very cozy, clean and beautiful. The food was also amazing. I would highly recommend this place. I will come back for sure!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
7,3 Good
Pros: I simply liked everything about this hotel. I just enjoyed to stay in this wonderful area.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Quaint room. Some nice touches in the decor. Traditional Swiss chalet hotel exterior. Nice breakfast, good coffee.
Cons: Uneven quality of amenities and services. Phone was broken and despite assurances by staff that replacement phone would be acquired, our phone was never replaced in the three nights and four days we stayed at the Adler. Sink faucet turned with great difficulty and needed servicing. Fitness room is a tiny corner with three machines only. Whirlpool did not work in bath. Linoleum cracked in bathroom.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the comfort and location of the hotel. The views from my balcony were superb
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful at this family run hotel. The food was great and our room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable!
Cons: Our streetside room was quite noisy until about 10:30 PM. Probably this is not a problem in the winter with the windows closed. In summer, you need the windows open for cooling.
7,3 Good
Pros: Prime position with wonderful views from room and balcony. We were fortunate to be allocated a room with a front view, which is the best aspect and would recommend stipulating this when booking. A very nice pool and wellness area in the hotel, which we used every day. A very pleasant looking hotel with nice bars and outside breakfast area for fine weather, which we had. Are considering booking 4 or 5 rooms for a family celebration in 2011.
Cons: Some visitors may find the front rooms noisy with farm traffic etc. in the quite early morning, but we thought this to be part of the charm of the place, and no problem.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, fantastic food and a wonderful hot shower at the end of a day skiing.
Cons:
4,0 Okay
Pros: Restaurant was good.
Cons: Rooms and furnishings were tired - not up to usual Swiss standard
6,8 Good
Pros: We spent our long week-end in a friendly, clean and cozy hotel; the price was fair.
Cons: The hotel restaurants cuisine was rather simpel.
7,6 Good
Pros: We appreciated the care that was taken by the staff and a person we beleived to be the owner. Very caring and attentive
Cons: The smoking!!!! Ugh!!!!
7,2 Good
Pros: They were so kind to upgrade us so we had a little suite. That was very nice since we drove so far until late at night
Cons: no nothing, everything was lovely. We would have stayed longer but the web site said there was no additional availability./ The breakfast, pool and little international library was quite lovely

Pros: Location
Cons: Zero Customer Service
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is awesome! The Restaurant Ritter in the hotel is hands down the best restaurant in Kandersteg. We love that place. Rooms are comfortable and you can’t beat the location
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, nice and cozy lounge, very friendly staff, helpful front desk, wide breakfast buffet selection...
Cons: Just a small note, the bathroom could have a few more towel holders for the pool towels and wet swimming trunks :)
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location with mountain view Kids play room saimming pool great breakfast buffet
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient for cable car and station. The furniture and décor are all good, traditional country style, but not exceptional. The breakfast is varied with plenty of choice for a few days. The dinners in the evening in the dining room were always good, but not exceptional - although this did depend on what was chosen from the menu. We had a 'comfort' room that was very large and comfortable, again without being exceptional. The swimming pool is great - large enough with lovely aspect through glass screens to the mountains. All the staff we met were helpful, pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.
Cons: Some aspects of the building did not lend themselves to a cosy, boutique or luxury experience eg the dining room is in a large, high room with wonderful chandeliers, but more like a dining room than a restaurant. It's hard to see how this could change - and I recognise that in some circumstances the room would be a real asset.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Delighted to be able to stay at the Victoria for a second time. The hotel is perfectly situated at the heart of Kandersteg and ideal for everything on offer. We were given a very warm welcome and this generosity extended throughout our four day stay. The food was superb and the mini suites were absolutely ideal. In the perfect world perhaps both rooms would have faced the Blumlisalp as the road side can be a touch noisy in the evening, but this is a small matter. We had a wonderful time at the Victoria and I look forward to returning. Kandersteg is a glorious place [i first came in 1981] and remains unspoilt, which is a rare treat these days.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the train station and the center of this beautiful mountain village. Incredible breakfast. Not your average row of muesli, cheese and meat. It was huge and so varied and the dining room is just beautiful. Imagine visiting your grandmothers old farm house going down the hallway toward your bedroom with the unique and fresh smell that says "welcome home". This was that. My room had an incredible view of the mountains (sorry the photo is sideways). The hosts were so helpful and went out of their way to make my stay a great one, even gave me a tour of the three bedroom flat on the property. I already have plans to bring my family back next year and stay in the big flat on this property. Can't wait!

Pros: Very friendly check-in, knowledgeable staff who gave us a quick overview of where to go for our hike. Restaurant was nice, yet staff seemed a bit stressed - it was a busy night though. Waiter Andi did a good job nonetheless and was v friendly. Breakfast was decent for a 3* hotel. Location is great to get up to Oeschinensee. Good place to stay for a quick weekend in the mountains.
Cons: Room furniture could need a refreshment. It was all super clean, just a bit worn out. You can easily hear your room-neighbours.

It has a restaurant with a garden terrace, serving tasty regional cuisine, and an inviting bar, where you can watch sport events on a large TV screen. Pros: Blümlisalp has good sized family rooms and offers a nice little breakfast to start your day. The hotel is centrally located and the rooms have a wonderful view from all windows. Rooms are neat, tidy and very cosy.
Cons: The restaurant menu does not have a large variety of choices and limited children's menu choices however the hotel is centrally located so we were able to explore other options.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb - beautiful view from the property . Hosts were nice and friendly. Restaurant is excellent - don’t miss it. Room is big and has all the required amenities with great WiFi.
Cons: The shower pressure is abit on the soft side and it would be good to have a mini fridge in the room . However all considering it we still a great stay and we would go again .
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Comfy hotel close to Oeschinenbahn station!
Cons: Breakfast only until 9.30 am, which is quite early...
7,5 Good
Pros: Location was just a 12mins walk along some pretty houses to the gondola base station, where we went to see Lake Oeschinen. Free public parking right next to hotel. We left the car there after checkout to walk to the gondola station. Parking at gondola station will cost some francs. The lady at reception (I presume is the owner) was patient and friendly and spoke good English. The lady at breakfast area came over just to say hello. Continental breakfast was as per the usual but with what looks like fresh jams. Yuma! Elevator helped a lot. Duvet was super warm. Shower cubicle though small, was well-sealed and not leaky. Water pressure was good.
Cons: Room looked dated and in need of a paint. Perhaps not in orange though. Room wasn’t v soundproofed. Wifi was weak. No air conditioning but with one heater that seemed to be working intermittently. Fortunately it was a cool Oct night. Only one small ventilator in the bathroom so we had to leave the bathroom door opened for much needed ventilation. I had to fold the pillow twice before I can feel some semblance of a cushion.
7,5 Good
Pros: big room and super clean
Cons: Breakfast less choice and quality not match to hotel price.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything you would expect in this charming place during winter! Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was exceptional!
Cons: I would have liked a fried egg for breakfast... But I am South African :-) in general we could not find fault....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, nice staff and overall a very good service.
Cons: Breakfast could have offered a little more. Generally the choice of dishes was O.K. and satisfactoy but a bit disappointing was the fact the quantity was almost like calculated for one person during most of my stay. As soon as more guests arrived the choice of dishes (and quantity) improved.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind staff, good location in Dorf. Very good breakfast.
Cons: There is nothing that comes to mind.

6,0 Good
Pros: It was quiet. Very good heater.
Cons: The stuff is not present at all. There is no contact with them. The breakfast quite poor and very low quality. The room is old and the bathroom is full of mold around the shower area. For the price I payed (130chf per night double room) I would expect something a bit better.

Pros: What a warm and welcoming stay! My room was spacious and comfortable with a gorgeous view, breakfast was fantastic with a huge range (including hot dishes to order), and a walking trail starts immediately from the hotel. Unexpected lovely and generous touches like a welcome drink on arrival and a tea and cake hour for guests in the afternoon providing an opportunity to socialize, entertained by a pianist. All staff were friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. I will definitely stay again on my return to Kandersteg.
Cons: The only tiny thing missing was a kettle in my room (as I drink a lot of tea)!

Pros: Super large and clean room with an amazing view. The thing that made the entire stay was the smell of fresh bread baking every morning, and having the bread and muesli and other goodies at breakfast while looking at the mountains. You can't beat the location, the gondola is out the front door of the hotel.
Cons: No complaints!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the hotel was very nice and welcoming, he spoke to us in French when we arrived at the deck and offered us a room with balcony instead of the one we had booked. The room are nice and cosy, bathroom is good. Breakfast was excellent they even had some croissants! I really appreciated the room where the breakfast is served, I would have loved to eat at the restaurant (same room but on the other side) but unfortunately it was closed that night, maybe next time! There's a huge parking just in front and you litterraly sleep 50 meters away from the ski lifts, very practical! Awesome in the morning you don't have to take the car again.
