Hotel Rantapuisto

I loved the authentic retro architecture and ambiance of the hotel. I am glad that the updates are in line with the original style. Very good breakfast with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes.

No complaints. We chose a room that had not been renovated so that we could have a sea view. Everything was still fine.

Location is pretty beautiful, though if you don't have a car you should be prepared to walk to and from the metro station as there is no bus that takes you the full distance. The water and sea view is beautiful. Breakfast is available for a good 3 hours - cooked and plenty of options. Very good. Food served for dinner is delicious, though the menu is the same every single night. I happily worked my way around it. Everything was very clean and staff were amazing and always very helpful.

Given the hotel is remote (nowhere to walk to for food) the fact there is no lunch available is worth knowing. The lobby had some sandwiches but nothing vegetarian for example. One thing that was a problem was I'd planned to have a peaceful day at the hotel on the Sunday but was not informed at any point (until I asked that day) that the restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings. It was snowing and unpleasant outside so I didn't relish the idea of walking anywhere, so I ate crisps for dinner which is not ideal! I would have planned things differently if I'd known. There was also no room service which I found disappointing given I was trying to be on a retreat, but it's not a big deal.
