Pros: House with style & character; lovely hosts and lot of artwork and design

Pros: The place is very nice, rooms are spacious and have pretty much what you need. The living rooms as well are a good place to stay and relax. Breakfast was nicely prepared.

Cons: First would be the check-in and check-out policy. To check in after 17 and check out before 11 is not nice! I,be been traveling all night and I got to the propriety at 10 o’clock. I didn’t checked the check in hours because it didn’t cross my mind that could be that late. I couldn’t get in, I was only allowed to park my car inside the facility. I was expecting more hospitality considering that the accommodation was in a home context. I had to rest in the car and ask like a Holmes to be allowed to use the restroom. Later on at 15 o clock I had a business meeting and I needed to change my clothes. I had to ask for that also to get in the restroom to change. When you have a guest in such a context I don’t think is too much to offer a bottle of water. The policy doesn’t allow the free cancelation so I was stuck in the car for several hours because otherwise I would have canceled the stay there and go for a hotel. The house is on a road that is going up the hill and does not have any place to park. The house is not very well signaled and it’s a little confusing. Everything is closed, they could leave at least the gate open to have access with the car there. For me it was a little bit chilly in the room and I had no opportunity to heat the room. For the breakfast I would personally prefer to have what is available at hand. There were things like ham and cheese brought to the table only on request. Not everyone eat jam and cache at breakfast, so it would be good to have the opportunity to pick what you want or at least to know what is available. There are small things that can make this experience more pleasant.

Pros: Beautiful house, very clean throughout and comfortable bedding. Comfortable robe and bottle of water provided. Charming and helpful lady owning the place + adooorable little dog.

Cons: Unfortunately although planned for, no WiFi yet for the rooms located on second floor (N.B. family suites on first floor are covered nevertheless). No kettle available for hot drinks in the afternoon/evening. Quality of toiletries could be better. My room was too small to really feel at ease.

Pros: A very good restaurant, very nice staff and a clean and comfortable room. The property is located inside a forest so it’s very quiet , but a bit dark to drive too at night.

Pros: The hotel was easy to find and is situated in a picturesque small town, There is good parking at the rear of the hotel. We were checked in by a charming lady, who made us very welcome on our arrival. The bedroom was spacious, clean and had a nice view from all three windows. The bathroom was excellent with a large walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night, even the church clock stops chiming at bed time, but starts again at six , maybe a bit early for some. The food in the restaurant is excellent, a good choice, well presented, and cooked to perfection, with a good choice of local wine. Breakfast was very good, a good selection, and fresh. Coffee was excellent. Throughout our stay, all the staff were charming, friendly, helpful and very professional. My only regret was that we were only staying for one night, I will certainly return and stay longer in this wonderful hotel and spend a lot more time exploring this lovely part of France.

Pros: We stayed here prior to visiting Hartmannswillerkopf. It's a quiet town (other than for the church bells). There are no other shops or bars here but the hotel had a bar and restaurant which was perfect for my needs. Nice continental breakfast.

Some things look old but that is the romantic about this hotel.. it is a hotel with a long history. Like this very much.. we are a young couple with age of 32. Can recommend this stay for everyone.

Nicely planted garden for relaxing with half size tennis court and table tennis. We choose to eat at hotel restaurant as on edge of village and they were happy to provide vegetarian options (with advance notice), good breakfast too! Comprehensive local wine list. Very friendly helpful staff who spoke good English but were happy to help us practice our French! Lots of good walking nearby.

Pros: The owner went beyond expectations in helping repair a minor mishap to our rental vehicle saving us a bundle. We suggested coffee making facilities in the room and he was thankful for the suggestion and will be available soon. Morning coffee was freshly made in the breakfast room and on our second day he was ready to deliver to our room once he was aware we were awake. For dinner he suggested excellent restaurants in the area

Cons: Outside jacuzzi very dirty. Terrible sewage smell coming through the shower drain (to the extent that we had to block the drain with a wet towel). Taste is a matter of debate (I would rank the architecture & decor on the kitschier side of kitsch) but should a hotel really be a chapel to the glory of its founder with self - aggrandizing photos everywhere? Price to money - the rack rate of 300EUR per night (ex breakfast) is wildly irrealistic in relation with location, amenities and services. Tired, frayed carpet in the reception area helps resetting expectations as soon as you arrive...

Pros: The location is great and the room was very comfortable. The facilities are clean and nice however most of the massage jets and fontains were not working at all or partially operational. The sauna is a low temperature one which is not convincing and the hammam also was not fully powerful. That was quite deceiving.

Cons: The operation of the spa facilities should be improved to reach their full potential and the sauna should be modified to provide real sauna features. It is a pity no using the beautiful facilities at their full potential by the fault of lousy or defectuous equipment.

Pros: Spa area exceeded expectations! Room was clean, modern and comfortable, possibility to order express breakfast in the room, which is great alternative to buffet breakfast.

Pros: The location is fantastic in the middle of the forest. We loved our room and the pool was great. Good general facilities. Bed was very comfortable with good quality towels and linen - helped to sleep well. We would return to this hotel if we were sure that the service (staff quality) had improved.

Cons: 1. Check-in process was very problematic. The room was not available (on arrival) at 3.15pm. Normal check-in time was 3.30pm. Reception explained that the cleaning lady had arrived too late. We were told that there would be an additional wait of at least 1hour. However, we weren’t automatically offered the spa or bar facilities. We complained and only then were we offered the chance to use the spa. The receptionist with dark short hair seemed to be very careless and spoke very limited English. 2. There was a private party on the night of arrival. All restaurants were closed and nobody had informed us during the check-in process that we should eat in the Brasserie before 7pm or visit the nearby restaurant. Therefore, we stayed without food during the first night of our stay. 3. The access cards didn’t work on the 2nd and 3rd night of our stay. We had to return to reception to have the cards reset. This happened to both cards on consecutive nights. The cards were not placed next to mobile phones and kept in separate pockets. Therefore, this was not the cause of the problem. 4. We were given only 2 towels for the spa during the room cleaning on the Friday morning. However each person requires 2 towels for each sun-bed due to the towels being short. 5. Overall, the staff spoke very little English except one young man on reception late on Saturday night. Staff didn’t seem to be very competent. The Gardener was very friendly and seemed to be doing his best multi-tasking between different jobs around the hotel. The staff seem to be working in an unco-ordinated fashion. 6. No wine stocked in the mini-bar. Odd given that this region is so famous for its wine production. 2 small bottles of wine (for an extra charge) would be beneficial. CONCLUSION Overall, it’s a real shame (about the above points) because it’s a really nice hotel that needs to be run in a more orderly fashion. The management need to retrain some of the staff.

Cons: Absolutely ridiculous that paying guests in a 4-star hotel can not have dinner, because the restaurant is fully booked. Not even willingness to let us wait at the bar for a free table. Just f**k off and drive 10 km to the nearest village. In addition very noisy rooms; we could follow every word of the next door conversation. Luckily there were no children in that room. My wife's massage was not excellent and the masseuse didn't speak one word english (or didn't want to, like many french).

Cons: The room was the grubbiest I have ever had the misfortune to endure. The carpet was filthy and stained. We booked the most expensive quadruple room and expected it to be like the website photo, with a large window providing wonderful views over the city. We were given a filthy room with a tiny high window less than 1 square meter in area, from that, only nearby rooftops were visible (if you had something to stand on). It would seem their vacuum cleaners are not quite fit for purpose, as the same crumbs were in the same places when left as were there when we arrived. The hotel promises free bottled water for their guests, in our instance this was only forthcoming when requested after our second night. The same applies for refreshments etc., that are promised. On our second day we left the room at 10am, taking care to ensure the "Please make up my room" card was correctly hung on the door handle. Needless to say, on our return at 16.30, it was untouched! We had to amuse ourselves elsewhere until this could be achieved. The hot water was scalding for most of the day, however if you wished to a warm bath or shower before 10am you would be left wanting. All this is such a shame, because it has so much going for it.

Pros: I stopped there on my trip from Italy to Belgium. I can tell you it is a very nice and very clean hotel. I stayed only 1 night but I enjoyed it. The food in the restaurant (what I ate) was excellent. I certainly would return.

Pros: Locationwise this is not in the "downtown" of Guebwiller so please don't expect to find some shops around. Otherwise it's quite calm. The lake was way smaller than I expected (it's rather a pond than a lake) but it wasn't a big deal.

Pros: Lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. The lake is more an 'étang' but nevertheless a beautiful setting with shared facilities with the neighbouring hotel, so in early evening we could use their sunny terrace and bar. Our room was splendid, we were celebrating an anniversary so selected a superior room with balcony and lake view, it was worth it! We arrived by bike, so a bonus was a garage for storing the bikes.

Cons: Check in at night could’ve been explained clearer

Pros: Very friendly staff. Very polite and helpful. Thank you all for the warm welcome! Breakfast was ok but could easily be improved by offering higher quality products and refilling the breakfast buffet regularly during the morning when products run out.

Cons: Uncomfortably small double bed. Pictures on booking.com look a lot nicer that in reality. Suggestion: repair the neon letters outside the hotel. Broke neon letters don't give a very good impression to the hotel.

Cons: 26 degrees out side, muggy and hit inside but hotel staff WOULD NOT TURN ON AIRCON IN OUR ROOM,WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS TO COLD OUTSIDE TO PUT IT ON!!. when I booked the hotel aircon was one of the reasons for the choice , on the booking page it dos not state that use of aircon at the hotels discretion? I feel that this should be stated on booking site,plus the hotel is next door to rundown hotel what looks as if its for the local unemployed, or for poor immigrant accommodation .

Pros: The room was clean and fairly spacious. The bathroom was immaculate. Our stay (sleep) was very quiet- no outside noise from the hallway. The breakfast was very good though it was not included in the cost of the room.

Pros: The rooms were clean, beds were fine. Kettle in room. Sauna and steam room and pool were good - Once they got them working. The location was good for travelling-on.

Cons: The Wi-Fi did not work. The restaurant was closed on the night we were there with no advance notice for a function. Apart from one female, the staff were abrupt. The hotel was in a commercial estate, windy and barren and the room looked onto a wall of another block. Without driving at least 2K we had to sue the nearby Pizza house for a meal. No option! There was a dog barking on our floor and the public areas were scruffy

Pros: All staff, particularly reception very helpful and friendly. Excellent on site restaurant. Very comfortable stay. Brilliant automobile exhibition well worth visiting in Mulhouse.

Cons: Hotel great but quite a walk into town Centre.

Cons: This is the second time I have not felt politely served at the reception. At first the waitress could not find the reservation and they had doubts about my statement about the made reservation At breakfast the focus of the staff was more on the room number fixed than on the actual customer needs. Dirty plates stacked where you can expect actually clean, and rotten fruit with fruit flies and mold in the fruit basket.

Cons: The room could have been more up to date and the bed was uncomfortable.

Pros: Perfect location. Close enough to city centre. Plenty of food outlets nearby. Easy access to major routes. Underground car park is not cheap but is excellent idea!

Pros: This is a very nice hotel to stay at, we arrived by bicycle and the staff could not have been more helpful and there was secure parking which allowed us to leave the bikes overnight. Nice facilities, friendly staff a good hotel for overnighting.

Cons: Firstly, I don't believe this point reflects on the hotel as I believe the restaurant although in the same building is separate. However, there is a gastronomic restaurant on the second floor, which really did not live up to the title. The cooking was very ordinary, the prices excessive and when ordering sauce with a steak both my wife and I were surprised when a very small amount was delivered in a side dish. The following night we went to the Hippopotamus restaurant next door and had a far better dinner for half the price.

Pros: Had the pool almost to ourselves. Room was clean and the shower was very strong.

Cons: The pool has no windows so it's like swimming in a cave, and the sauna and hammam were not working. Breakfast was very disappointing, hot and cold buffet with watery scrambled eggs, broiled bacon, and canned sausages - nothing freshly cooked. The cold platter was better but limited.

Pros: The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming. The room was quiet. Perfectly functional.

Cons: I love Ibis because you know what you will get: good, clean rooms, and value for money. This Ibis is a bit tired. The room stank of cigarette smoke. The shower was not perfectly clean.

Pros: It was a very nice hotel close to city center and train station; 10 minutes of walk for each. Especially the staff was amazing. They were very helpful starting from check-in. The amazing memory is; I lost my IPad on the street close to the hotel, someone found it and brought to reception. Stephanie and Anais, the ladies in the hotel spent lots of effort to send it to me and they did it ! Thank you for everything.

Pros: The hotel has everything you need. It’s basic in setup, but that is what IBIS hotels are known for as the price is a budget price as well. We had two clean rooms, they are small and layout efficiently. We did go for their breakfast and had to pay around 10 euros per person for a good intercontinental breakfast. For us this was OK.

Pros: This was a pleasant surprise. we wanted to stay in Mulhouse on our way back from Italy to visit the Schlumf collection or Cite de Automobile. It seemed strange staying at a tennis club but it was great! The room was a little on the small side but perfectly adequate for what we wanted. The staff were friendly and patient with our poor French. Although its a bit out of town we were able to get the tram into Mulhouse centre easily. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair with a good choice. I got the impression it was a well run friendly local club....superb!

Pros: Friendly staff. We ate in both nights and the food was good. Very popular with locals too. The room was fine. I had to request a hairdryer as it didn't come automatically and there was not one available so I had to wait, but it was fine.

Cons: It's not in an ideal location, so you have to drive to get anywhere, but we came for the train and the motor museums so we expected this.

Pros: Silent in the morning delivey time. This is what we have met.

Pros: very handy overnight stop for our drive back from the south of Italy to London. Clean comfortable room for a budget hotel and very pet friendly. Staff were very helpful and kept the restaurant open to allow us to have something to eat, when we arrived later than expected. So many thanks and will definitely use it again.

Cons: Better quality snacks at reception would be good and kettle in room rather than flask of hot water in reception (tho night receptionist boiled me a fresh pot of hot water for late night tea and was very kind). Morning reception a little less friendly.
