The jetted whirlpool tub was a nice feature to use for my pregnant wife, rather than having to go to public hot tub. The bed was more comfortable than expected for being a Murphy bed.

Our first room had a strong odor of cooked bacon. We didn't think much of it (who doesnt like bacon, right?) so we opened the patio door and turned on all fans expecting it to clear out and went out to dinner. Came back a few hrs later and it was still pungent and we could smell it on our belongings. I told the front desk and she handed me a bottle of air freshener to go spray the room, which I felt was unprofessional. I didn't say anything and complied with her suggestion. The result was a mixture smell of bacon and the freshener and now worse than before. My 34 week pregnant wife began to feel nauseous. So back I went to the front desk to discuss it. The lady mentioned this happens a lot and the smell is hard to get out of the studios when people cook, and she wasn't sure why people even cook at all. I thought to myself they cook because you guys offer a stove top oven and multiple cooking utensils to use along with ingredients?? She did give us a new room, so we packed our stuff and moved up 1 floor. This room did not smell and met our expectations so that did cheer me up, but having to deal with that was not how I wanted to start my vacation. Why not improve the ventilation system if it's an ongoing problem? Also, who ever cleaned that room thought it was satisfactory enough for a guest with that pungent odor? Last thing I wanted to mention was the layout of the room. I would assume you guys know you can see straight through the dual-sided fireplace into the bathroom? Who the hell designed that room and decided it was ok for whoever's sitting in the living area to see people getting into shower or sitting on the toilet??? It was fine for me and my wife because we have seen everything, but if you had guests or kids? Very strange. Anyways, I rarely write these reviews so I hope someone reads it and takes it seriously. We are not very picky people, and it was a letdown.

location and view from the apartment that I booked months in advance They didn't seem to care about my concern/dissatisfaction An oh well It seems that the Wyndham part of the property is less important than the World Mark Not sure I understood the set up No services or amenities provided so not worth the expense

Overall, hotel was wonderful! Front desk employee was great, the rooms were clean and cozy, and I want to stay again soon!

The water had a horrible smell but was tolerable. And no vending or food available, just some candy available for purchase behind front desk.

About

Overview

Visit the Town That Time Forgot to experience a unique tourist destination with a rich history and scenic surroundings. A mining boomtown that has been virtually untouched since the mid-1800s, Galena is a meticulously preserved period town that is home to over 1,000 historic buildings. Much of Galena today is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The former residence of U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant, this historic destination also offers a wide selection of outdoor activities nearby, including challenging golf courses, exciting ski resorts, family fun at Lake Galena and horseback riding through rolling hills and flower-filled valleys. Tourism is now the city's main attraction, with specialty shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants appealing to more than a million visitors annually. WorldMark Galena features spacious studio and one-bedroom resort suites that comfortably sleep two to four guests and range from 420 to 850 square feet. The studio suite features a queen Murphy bed, while the one-bedroom suite features a private bedroom with a king bed and a queen Murphy bed in the living area. Whether you're traveling with extended family or a smaller party, you will appreciate the economy of a full kitchen or kitchenette, whirlpool tub, fireplace and washer/dryer (one-bedroom). Plus, seperate dining area and living area with private balcony in some suites and TVs throughout are comforts that would be hard to find in an average hotel.
