Absolutely awful. It appeared to be the cheapest option for our trip to Scotland, but once we arrived a different story unfolded. The location was a mess; employees seemed over-worked and angry. We were never greeted or even helped while we waited in line for roughly an hour. During that wait we witnessed a customer being charged 300 pounds for a scuffed tire, and long lines of people just trying to return their vehicle. There was a lot of sighing and yelling. We had to make it to a ferry, so we were forced to leave and rent from another company. When I tried to cancel my rental with Green Motion, I was told they were too busy to process my refund. Once everything was said and done with our rental from a competitor, the competitor turned out to be significantly cheaper. Avoid Green Motion at all costs.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMAPNY!!!!!! I was lied directly to my face about what "full coverage" means for insurance. The woman, whos name I wish I knew, told me over and over again, that if I totaled the car in an accident, the total out of pocket deduction would be $200.00, but guess what, that only covers BODY WORK!!!!! As we all know a totaled car would involve damage to the tires and rims as well, they charged me 700 dollars to replace the rim, for the most insignificant little mark that could have been buffed out if I saw it before returning the rental. Absolutely a joke of a company, please please please do your research and check reviews because this ruined the end of our beautiful trip through the UK.

Car was functioning well throughout a 1-week roadtrip in Scotland. However, we took the highest insurance premium on-site, and the representative explicitly mentioned our excess is limited to 400£ in any scenario. When we came back with some rubs and scratches on one of the wheel trims (mainly esthetic damage as the wheel was perfectly functioning with no damage to tires) they decided the entire wheel should be replaced and we needed to pay almost 600£, as the "small letters" mentioned wheels were not covered in the premium (this was NOT voiced over when we took the car and they said excess is 400!!) We recommend sorting the insurance in advance and hiring from a different company. Green Motion was a huge disappointment, the service level was low and they potentially take advantage of customer's lack of knowledge to increase income.

It was a complete disaster. they did not have the car I had paid for, a Volvo V40, but instead tried to give me a Mini Cooper that would no way have coped with my baggage. I was heading to an important meeting and their office is nowhere near the airport so I could not swap to another company. They made me upgrade to a Peugeot 5008 because they had no other cars available, or so they claimed, that cost me £100 extra a day. They had a lot of other cars in their car park.You had charged me $495 (£360) for the Volvo, they charged me an additional £1,364 ($1,877) for my, so called, upgrade, and I am absolutely furious. The car was a diesel, I had asked for a petrol car. The original one they sent me to was manual, I had asked for an automatic. They conceded and got a replacement. It didn't have a full tank of fuel and it had a flat tyre in one wheel which I didn't realize until much later. So I had to pay for the higher priced diesel and had to eep stopping to re-inflate the tyre during my 11 day trip. So I didn't like anything and what could be better is if they reconsidered this ridiculous charge and gave me a refund. They didn't have the correct car and I had to pay. I have checked it out, the Volvo is 25% larger internally than the Mini and I needed the space for all my luggage.

We got really f***** over. This is a car rental where honest deals don't exist and prices are all made up on the spot. I receieved information about opening hours 7-22 via email, so I arranged my pickup at 20h considering I'll perform the pickup between 20:00-21:00. I got a call the day before that I have to make the pickup BEFORE 20:00 and that my reservation is non-refundable, which I could not due to our flight arriving at 20:00. I called Green Motion and agreed to pickup the car the next morning and got informed that there may be a slight increase in price for another car with similar parameters. When I arrived early in the morning just after opening hours, the 250 GBP car I ordered wasn't there (where could it have gone when they were closed?) and I was told that my options are pay another 700 GBP or 1000 GBP for BMW or Ford pickup. After this tripling of the price I prepaid via internet I was told that I have to pay 2505 GBP deposit (which my credit card of course couldn't process), so I had to pay a 400 GBP deposit and pay another 400 GBP fee for small deposit. All in all for my 250 GBP car order the requested price increase was around 1500 GBP on the spot. Incredible. After some negotiation and discussions I managed to drop these prices to 270 GBP for the car and 130 GBP for the 400 GBP deposit fee. This just proves that the prices are made up on the spot and they'll try to get incredible amount of money from you. In this entire situation they'll really take you hostage, as you already prepaid non-refundable amount of money and most of the car rentals are prebooked, and if you're there with a baby like us, you don't have very many options to try to find any car available. Also during my visit at the store, there was a couple picking up their car wanting to pay their deposit with a debit card (which is usually possible at car rentals' on worse terms than with credit card) and they got screamed at and shouted at from the personnel yelling "Get out of our store now!". This was the worst purchase experience in my entire life. I never got scammed worse.

Car was upgraded to a brand new luxury car (we had paid for a mini/economy/compact) which was actually more stressful thinking of potential expensive repairs. The car worked great and the nav system was fully functional - had some weird settings that we couldnt figure out how to turn off.There were many hidden fees with this company that, since we booked through Kayak, were not made clear to us. They don't let you pay for the car using a credit card that has flat numbers. They claim this is because when they make a physical copy of the card, the numbers don't show up, and their insurance "doesn't like that". This is a scam to force you into buying their car insurance, which was very frustrating. They also wanted us to put down a deposit of almost $3,000 for our 1-week rental, or pay an additional $40 per day for a $1200 deposit. The total we paid ended up being similar to other bigger, name brand car rental companies, but it was just frustrating that this was advertised as a "discount" car company.
