Pros: Yes staff were friendly, and Truck was warm when we picked it up.
Cons: Nothing it was fine.
Pros: Friendly and accommodating staff. Helped us change our car with no hassle at all.
Cons: Cleaning of the vehicle. Front was still had a lot of bugs and it looked like there had been something spilled on the inside of the rear ds door, that had only been partially wiped up.

Pros: No one likes working on the holidays including myself. When I got off work and entered the detroit enterprise location the staff was excellent. I remember Heather was extremely nice and helpful and had a smile from ear to ear. She was exceptional and I value that service.

Pros: The people we dealt with could not have been better. Friendly, helpful, courteous.
Cons: Although the car was clean on he outside, the inside was dirty, mud on the floor mats and doorways. Smelled of former smokers.

Pros: Checking in and pickup was super easy. I was allowed to pick out the vehicle from several SUVs.
Cons: I waited 45 min for a shuttle from the airport. It was cold and snowy. I think having a direct phone number to the local office would have helped.

No-pressure check-in. I love that they accept my "no thank you" and move on. I get to the car quickly without a sales pitch. There are plenty of employees around ready to direct you. A cooler of free bottled water is a lifesaver on a long travel day.

Cons: Cheap plastic car felt and sounded like it might colllapse on every bump, was jittery on the highway, crappy handling and oomph. But great gas mileage and it was transportation. I'll never buy a Dodge, but you get what you pay for in an economy rental, and it got us where we needed to go.

Cons: Lengthy check in because of an issue pulling up my license number in the computer--showed a Canadian license. Constant trying to sell me other features that I had already said no to when I set up rental online. Slow.

Pros: Maybe I got lucky with timing, but I walked right onto a shuttle, spent about 90 seconds at the counter and I was driving. Car was really new and clean. Quick, easy return also. Lots of attentive staff helping people get to the right place and keep moving.

Great car, some staff not-so-great
Pros: Car was excellent -- clean and ready to go. Unnecessary stress at initial check-out, but returning the car was quick and easy.
Cons: Initial check-out was bad. Credit card reader didn't work, and rather than try another one (that particular card reader wasn't working), I was told to call the third party I had pre-paid for the rental (Kayak) and tell them I'd have to use a different card. Finally, I went to a different clerk further down the counter who simply ran my card on her card reader and it was fine. The whole encounter added another 15 minutes of unnecessary stress. I had also noticed the customer in front of me having a similar problem with the same clerk.

Pros: I was expecting a Corolla and was disappointed when it wasn't available. The rental agent thought I might like a Chevy Cruise and she was right! It was very comfortable and performed well around town and on the highways.

Cons: The pickup was terrible. Attendant in the lot just stared right through me as I asked a question 3 times and then yelled into his radio. Eventually I gave up and figured it out myself. He never acknowledged that I was even standing there. Then i walked all the way across the lot to the building and the clerk inside asked a bunch of questions about insurance even though I purchased it when I booked the car. I didn't know it was third party but he acted like it was no good. Then told me to go out by the fence to get a truck. The only vehicles by the fence were needing maintenance. Someone drove by and told me to go back in and have him call for one. So I did. Waited 15 more minutes and the lady from Alamo came to ask if I was waiting for a truck and that it had been parked on the other side.

Pros: Employees were professional and friendly, & there was zero wait time both for pick-up and drop-off.
Cons: I “had my choice” of only 3 identical vehicles - that’s all they had on the lot. And the vehicle had a dirty windshield (interior) and washer fluid that left the exterior dirtier than before - not good in a Detroit winter! Also, the return shuttle driver drive with a coffee cup in her hand and frequently let go of the wheel to have coffee in one hand and the CB radio in the other - not safe!
Dollar- they won't pick you up.
Cons: Had a flat the first day- out of anyone's control. Customer service was VERY user-unfriendly: kept getting the same automated menu no matter what number we called. Could not get numbers for any physical offices and had difficulty getting a human being. Finally got someone- they told us Dollar would send someone out to put the donut on (for a fee, of course). Initially told the wait would be three hours (ended up being about an hour)- this was December in Michigan. Then told we could exchange the car, but had to drive it in to the closest office, 45 minutes away. Cust service couldn't get a hold of that office, so we had to drive on interstates at 50mph on the donut over an hour to exchange at a Hertz (Dollar's parent company). Unbelievable that they didn't send someone out with the exchange car. Killed a day of our vacation.

We had to write down the damage on the vehicle, which was dirty and hard to tell. Upon return, there was no one outside to accept the vehicle. When I went inside, I was asked to return the key to the vehicle & get the mileage. No one looked at the car

I would rather not use Thrifty’s again if i has a choice.

They said on the plus side, I didn't get charged any extra. I should have been charged less in my opinion. Why pay for luxury but receive compact?

Pros: The Volvo V60 was an awesome car overall — really comfortable, responsive and got good gas mileage.
Cons: Almost everything went wrong with this 3 day rental. I wasn’t on Avis Preferred yet that’s my tier listing. The car class we ordered (intermediate SUV) wasn’t available although the parking lot was PACKED with SUVs — we tried to take several others but “they weren’t in the computer” (in all fairness, our agent, Sara, was really great — it appeared to be a back office and operations staff problem). Since we had waited 45 minutes already, we swapped UP to the Volvo V60 - the car stank of cigarette smoke, it hadn’t been washed (why was it in the system if it hadn’t been cleaned?) and it had big scratches on three sides. We stopped at the exit gate and had the nice guy there fill out a damage report including the smoke. Then the low tire pressure guage went off — we filled up the tires and it still stayed on the whole weekend — stressful! We had guests who told us our car stank of smoke.... When we returned it, there was no one there to do a check in (on a Monday at 5pm) for 15 minutes... THen I had to show him my damage report — he wanted to take it — I told him “no way - this is MY copy and you have your own.” Guess he gave up and just charged me. Probably someone else is getting the car without a cleaning also... Detroit - get your act together!

Even after being assigned a car from the counter it took over 45 minutes of waiting until it was clean. The car was 1/8 low on gas, the car stunk (probably a smoker before us), and the car was dirty. Overall poor experience with DTW Avis. I never had a problem with Avis at other locations and have rented recently. I the future I will try and avoid Avis DTW.

I fueled up before returning and the person at the drop of said i did t need to since the gas was included in the deal.. sooooo i spend 40 bucks to fuel something i didnt have to. The agent motioned toward the parking lot and said your car is out there. He gave me a slot number and I wandered around for at least 15 minutes trying to find my minivan before the driver a passing vehicle offered me a ride to find it. Eventually, we found my vehicle and in more than 40 years of renting cars, this without a doubt this was the filthiest one I EVER received. I almost went back to the counter to refuse it, but with a 10 hour drive ahead of me I wanted to get on the road. Leaving the lot I expected to have the gate attendant review any damage. I told him that there was body damage to the car and he said, "we don't care about what we don't intend to repair" and he waived me on out without leaving his booth. The minivan drove OK, but as expected got poor fuel economy. When I arrived in Newark to return the vehicle, the check-in agent took my paper work and seemed surprised when he said, "you know you've go body damage on the right side of the car." After a moment of panic, I had to show this person that the damaged areas had been marked up in Michigan. He shrugged and said, "OK" before dismissing me. The bottom line, I will think twice before renting another can from Budget.
