Pros: Isabelle is excellent and did everything to make our lives easier
8,0 Excellent
Pros: very friendly personal service
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome to a lovely peaceful place to stay. Very comfortable room and generous breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Isabelle is the most amazing hostess - so friendly, kind and thoughtful - every little detail is attended to. The location is perfect to walk down the wonderful boulevard in Calais and the house itself has an amazing history - it was build in 1884 as a Lace Makers house. Isabelle had a dream to buy the house one day and she bought it 9 years ago. The bed was so comfortable and the interior design is in keeping with the period but with a modern twist. The breakfast was really tasty - with the option for cooked as well as the lovely buffet. It was a truly wonderful experience to be hosted by Isabelle.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Madame Isabelle was an expert in her business thinking ahead to meet our needs. The bedroom was decorated and furnished to complement the old town house resulting in a soothing ambience. The location for restaurants and for those catching a ferry to the UK is ideal. The secure parking for an extra 10 Euros. We had to leave early and Isabelle substituted a small snack bag for each of us.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. Fantastic host. Beautiful house. Delicious breakfast. Bar available. Great location, with an 8 min walk to nearest restaurant which was great and recommended by Isabel. Nice to see coffee in the bedroom. Good Wi-Fi.
Cons: The room was beautiful. Only problem was there was only a bath, no shower. I love baths, but for travelling, it has to be both or shower only. We were unable to use the bath due to time restraints. 2 bottles of water would be nice. Good, secure parking available but a bit fiddly and extra charge. Stairs a little challenging.

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are warm and cozy, and quite spacious. The bathrooms are modern. The host is lovely and very accommodating.

Pros: Friendly staff and great room.
Cons: The property is in a fairly dark street in a run down area, but not far from the main shopping street. Parking is difficult.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Nice old building, entrance and breakfast area.
Cons: Not dog friendly- accepts dogs but they can only go in specific areas and not downstairs. Felt having the dog with me was inconvenient when I specifically booked as dogs welcome. First time this happened in 3 weeks

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Central location, very authentic french building
Cons: No coffee machine in bedroom, but you could use the facilities in the communal room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very comfortable and the bed was larger than expected. We have always heard that beds in France are small but found the bed to be similar to a North American ‘queen size’ bed. Loved staying in a home that was built in the 1800’s and our host Stephanie was lovely. Breakfast both mornings was perfect!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hostess Stephanie is lovely she is very helpful and the rooms are beautiful

Pros: Beautiful hotel next to a park, which was perfect for our dog. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast buffet with many options.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room very nice. Only gripe was room only had net curtain and window overlooked rear of houses. Needs curtains
Cons: Curtains at windows not just nets
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful old fashioned hotel that we’ve stayed in several times over the last dozen years or so. Palatial lobby and breakfast ‘ball room’ and super bar that’s been opened up very sympathetically. Rooms well furnished with good beds and bathrooms, plus (sorry, but it’s nice) BBC and ITV on the room telly. Super buffet breakfast: runny scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and all the usual continental variations. No restaurant, but plenty within close proximity. A good base for a few excursions en voiture. We were told some bathrooms were going to get a refurb soon although they’re fine...so I hope the prices don’t go up!
Cons: Nothing!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms need to be refurbished especially bathrooms. Hotel's elevator can be bigger, is seems narrow and old. Location is very good, cleanliness of the room is very good and the staff very fast and friendly.Tasty breakfast, a good value for money
Cons: Bathrooms - shower cabins need refurbishments. Lifts shoud be replaced with some bigger spacious ones.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely architecture and entrance to the hotel, the reception staff extremely helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and warm, we both slept well. Thank-you. Calais was delightful; the hotel looked on to the art gallery and was a mere stones throw from the main throroughfare, shops and restaurants.
Cons: We were in the annex section, the room was very compact with very little space between beds, and the bathroom initially smelled of urine. We asked to move rooms but the hotel was fully booked.

Pros: Not far from the beach with sauna, jacuzzi and a small swimming pool. Trampoline, pétanque and ping pong table available.
Cons: Very low value for money in an outdated place. The door doesn’t lock, the heaters are full of rust, there’s mold on the walls and the furniture is old and not even matching. Will not go back and do not recommend.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, great location, she stayed with a dog in appartement, fully equipped , good beds and very fresh, hand made, delicious breakfast!
Cons: Small pillows Not much if any places to eat in that area in walking distance
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, lovely location.
Cons: The pool was slightly on the cool side but wonderful facilities!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked the apartment of 4 persons. The apartment was very nice, comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed. From de accommodation you can make a really nice walk to cap blanc nez. The spa was very clean and beautiful at the hotel. The owners and personnel are very friendly and the breakfast was also good. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to go to cap blanc nez to enjoy the nature.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Every thing as stated above , owner was lovely, room was clean , spa was exemplary, did not have the breakfast but looked very good value for money .
Cons: We both found the double bed mattress too firm .
4,0 Okay
Pros: The spa was really nice! And it has a splendid location close to Cap Blanc Nez
Cons: The apartment was not clean and super old. Not what we expected from the "superior apartment".

Pros: Lovely apartment. They had upgraded us! Staff very friendly and plenty to eat for breakfast. Second time there. We will return!

Cons: Room was on the top, stairs very steep and no lift, shower cabin very small and the height of the shower can not be adjusted . Very disappointed

Pros: location and facilities
8,0 Excellent
Pros: A SMART CONFORTABLE HOTEL with a good restaurant
Cons: Just a little out of the way
5,8 Okay
Pros: Not far from Calais EuroTunnel connection Good English Breakfast Nice bedroom
Cons: Not so qualified staff in comparison to facilities and price of the stay
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were polite and fairly friendly. The location was good for the tunnel.
Cons: We discovered an immigrant had taken the luggage out of our roof box & climbed in while we were sleeping in the hotel. I was very disappointed that the hotel did not have any security cameras in operation to have either prevented this from happening in the first place or a least alert us to the attempt. Our friends stayed at the formula 1 down the road and they had security in place. They were alerted at 6am in the morning to the same attempt on their roof box and everything was dealt with at the hotel. If our friend hadn’t of sent us a text, we would have lost our luggage and we’d also have brought the immigrant back into the uk!! I was very disappointed that we paid over 3 times more for our 4 star hotel and yet the formal 1 had the security in-place! The hotel staff were very apologetic, but that doesn’t change the situation. Other points that were disappointing about the stay; The shower nozzle holder was broken in the bathroom, it meant I had to ‘hold’ the nozzle and was not able to stand under it. The bed for the children was a sofa bed, rather than twin beds, it was not comfortable and inadequate for the children. The pizza I ordered for dinner was inedible, the base was hard, the toppings were not as described, and it was obviously not freshly homemade! The staff took it off the bill. I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to communication the information above and make it available to the general manager at the hotel, I trust booking.com will now do this on my behalf.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: access to hotel and grounds to exercise our dog. Close to the tunnel
Cons: to pay for the dog
7,9 Good
Pros: Very large, comfortable room. great location for the train and shopping. Well stocked mini bar in the Exec room.
Cons: Breakfast in room not perfect - wrong cereal, coffee for one not two, cracked cup, no toast. The refurb has stripped the lobby, bar and restaurant of all character. Restaurant feels more like a café. We booked the restaurant for dinner but walked out after being seated for over 15minutes without attention. No offer even of water or bread. Too late to find elsewhere so resorted to room service, two burgers and a Ceasar Salad. Tasty but not what we'd planned. W have stayed here often with good experiences previously but sadly this was likely to have been our last stay.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Guy on reception very friendly and full of lots of useful information.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: As above, lovely French rooms, good value. We booked a family room which was actually two adjoining (one king, one twin) rooms linked by an interconnecting door, each with its own bathroom. Clean and VERY comfortable beds with good quality bedlinen. Great value for €90. Yes, the entrance is being renovated, but you don’t sleep there (!) and there is no noise. Great location and the owner, Benoit, is lovely. So much more interesting than a bland multi-national chain.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Benoit was a wonderful host, friendly and provided us with helpful information. He also very kindly helped us with a taxi booking to get to the station which was an absolute lifesaver on a Sunday and with train strikes in place. The room itself was lovely, comfortable bed and a huge bath.

Pros: Ideal for an overnight stop although very noisy from other rooms as paper thin walls!
5,0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was good value for money. The menu for dinner was extensive and the food quality very acceptable and relatively inexpensive. Avoid the house dry white wine tastes rubbish as if its been watered down!
Cons: The hotel is currently surrounded by a massive redevelopment of Calais's Bleriot Plague making it almost impossible to access unless you have extraordinary navigation skills. No sat-nav can find a route into the hotel car park, we ended up having to drive across mud and grass then down a pedestrian access to get to their car park. The hotel should have pre-warned all those booking about this access issue. The rooms were very tired, lighting poor, our wardrobe door was hanging by one hinge, the floor was uneven and could hurt your feet, the hand basin was partially blocked and hot water was dependent upon time of day. The TV service was strictly all French language channels and no CNN. Car park, whilst lite is unsafe, an attempted break-in of our car took place and the lock to our top box was forced resulting in it breaking so we cannot currently access anything inside it. Fortunately we were on our way home.

Pros: Breakfast was very good
Cons: No toilet paper when we arrived no cups or tea or coffee so could not have a drink asked for said items and only received two cups and a toilet roll

Pros: The location was good on the sea front. Pleasant staff. Connecting rooms. Quite a cheap price.
Cons: One room didn't have a working to or kettle. It took until the last day to get it sorted. Not sound proof could hear people in other rooms. Electric tripped out a few times, which was annoying.

Pros: Location and sea view
Cons: A bit pricey considering how outdated the hotel is

Pros: i was comfortable and good value for money. for me the bonus was the mechanical dragon that i stumbled across on the pier. the hotel was on the beach which was fantastic. 25 min walk from calais ferry terminal
Cons: The room was comfortabel but a little dated. some of the sockets were loose. the colour scheme was a little bright,
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff were pleasant and helpful, food was good bed comfortable
Cons: There was an adjoining door between my room 117 and 118, there were two doors and no insulation between them, I got little sleep because of all the noise coming through the door. Why didn't they ask if I minded the connecting door to which I would have asked for another room, or do a proper job and insulate between the two
