The company closed early without any notice so we were not able to pick up the car. Customer Service was not helpful and just told us that they would cancel the reservation.

I paid for a Ford Focus and they gave me a Chevy Spark, stating that it was the same class of vehicle. I don't see how that it is - the Spark is tiny compared to any vehicle, including the Focus. The person who helped us was inflexible about keeping me on the rental because I used my wife's credit card - we had to pay $10 per day extra to add me as a driver, even though I was the one who made the reservation. The whole time the person helped us, she was listening to a seminar on speakerphone about how to manage real estate properties - that came across as very unprofessional.

The staff called me while I was changing planes to get to Houston and said they had to cancel my reservation because they were closing early for the holiday. It cost me over twice what my reservation was to get another car from another rental agency because they wanted to go home early and not honor their contract. I will never rent from Hertz again. this is the second time they have done this to me in Houston.Gotten a car from a reliable rental agency.

Staff were less than friendly upon drop-off and pickup. Became surly when they wanted to upcharge me for a larger car on a pre-paid rental. I reserved a compact and was told that they didn't have any, and would have to charge me more for a larger car. I refused, and the representative became surly and somehow found a compact car.The car was filthy dirty, despite the "sanitized" logo on the door. Stained seats and carpet, funky odor, and generally dirty both inside and out. Left rear tire lost air and alarm went on; I had to hunt and hunt and then pay $1.50 to get air in the tires. I reported this when I turned in the car and the representative merely said "we've never had that complaint before with this car."

Hertz did have the lowest price for a full size on way ($147/day).We reserved a "full size" to take my daughter from Houston to Ithica for college. We verified in person the day prior. At pickup, Hertz only had 1 full size SUV and 2 compacts, with nothing else coming up. Hertz offered the SUV for an additional fee, but too large for us to drive.

Car was very clean on the inside. But there were some stickers partially peeled off on the outside.My reservation was sent to the wrong hertz rental location but once we got that straightened out, all went well.

Fuel economy, vehicle color and options. Vehicle handling.Because of the flooding in the Houston area the drop off location is closed. I was forced to return the vehicle to a location, quite distant at my inconvenience and expense. Hertz, should be more cooperative, to make things easier, not the fault of the customer, their location flooded. At least offer some discount for the customer's inconvenience, or pick up they're vehicle at their expense.

Good value and nice employeesCheck-in person took great care of us when we determined we were at the wrong location. Problem-solved and explained airport tax issues on the spot and we were quickly on our way.We started off picking up our car in the RIGHT spot, but it was the WRONG car (a really nice infiniti Q50); Kind of disappointing when we had to migrate our baggage to our plain-jane-Nissan-Sentra, Then there were no keys in it. Ha! Not really a big deal though, and we weren't delayed for more than an few minutes.
