Pros: Staff were friendly but ultimately unhelpfulCons: Requested vehicle was not available. Upgraded to an SUV which meant exorbitant gas consumption and ridiculously increased cost. No offer to obtain another car from a nearby sister store.

Pros: Not muchCons: Waited an hour for the car. Other cars were available but I was not offered a no charge upgrade. Was told I could pay an additional $20/day for a car if I did not want to wait, after I had already waited 30 minutes. Worst rental car experience in the 35 years that I have been traveling on business.

Pros: Not much - staff poorly trained, manager demonstrated zero courtesy, not the slightest bit apologetic that our car was not available...Cons: Almost everything, including providing the compact vehicle we rented and instead insisting there was a misunderstanding on our part, hence the subcompact Fiesta we were given. Overall a lousy experience that could have been much better had the personnel had a clue about customer service.

Cons: Well simple, my car return destination was 20 miles from the airport? Why? It took me an hour to straitened this out. I returned from where I rented. Then they advised that I should always check the return spot? Never ever heard of such nonsense in 40 years of rental. Never again.

Pros: The counter attendant, when she finally arrived, was friendly but not super helpful. I got a lot of replies of, "I can't do that from here," "I won't know how much it will cost until I get your credit card," "That's not what my screen is showing."Cons: Our rental agreement was misrepresented and we paid more than we were quoted.

Pros: Syracuse staff was helpful, friendly, efficient.Cons: The check engine light came on while I was in NC, 700 miles away from home.Obviously I rented a car for reliability so I called, they told me to take it to local shop and trade it in. I went to 2 different locations and called the airport location. The only thing the staff would say is no cars were available. Which is fine, but there were no other options offered, no recommended plan of action. This is their car, there should have been more guidance. I drove the car back and it made it ok. Not knowing what the issue was or what could go wrong was a stress I did not need on this trip.

wrong pickup point but they still gave me great sePros: when I booked I thought the pickup point was at the Syracuse Airport, but was informed actually it was downtown Syracuse. But they took the timevto find a good value that theyhad there. So I was on the road quite quickly.

A challenge with the vanCons: The chair in the back did not go down and the girl though she tried could not get it to go down and we needed it as we were transporting a dresser. They had no other van for us to take and no other person that could fix it, so my husband had to take it anyway because we had no choice. So my husband ended up fixing it when he got home.

Pros: Yes I was greeted at the door for pickup and drop off, no issues, everything went smooth.Cons: The car wasn't cleaned well. The car mats were soaked with water. There were two pickles, yes pickles, wedged in between the seats. There was the smell of weed throughout the car. There was a weed spray in the door, called Blunteffects, left behind by the previous renter.

Pros: Staff said they would drop me off...I was told to be there after 2:30. I was also told they were at the Watertown airport which is not the case and the Sheriff at the airport said they get numerous customers coming there for enterprise. When I got to the right place it was 3:30 because I was at the airport for 20 minutes, on hold with local office waiting for a employee to answer for 20 minutes. When I called again a girl picked up and said I was misinformed by one of the employees and the radius of drop off is 15 miles and no one could take me to Clayton.Cons: Staff needs to know the policies. Website needs to state the radius. Staff needs to answer the phone...I have yet to get through to the Syracuse staff to dispute the bill. I got charged 173 and The Syracuse guy gave me paper work for 139

Pros: Friendly staff, pick up/drop off quick and easyCons: Looked at rental prices in the AM, went to book it later in the afternoon and price/day almost doubled. Asked why and they said prices can change hourly. So if you see a good deal book it immediately

Happy with Experience, Would use again.Pros: It only took about 15 mins. total to check in and pick up car. Not pushy on insurance or extras. Vehicle was excellent, not one problem. got an SUV and the gas mileage was much better than expected.Cons: I wish he'd spent a little more time showing me the important accessories, it started to rain on the way home and I couldn't figure out the wipers until I got home, but I did know how to drop the back seats and turn on the seat warmers. Some of this on me, I was in a hurry. Overall, great experience.

Pros: Allowed me to book a rental a downtown instead of airport - the enterprise folks then stiffed me for 100+ car since they pretended that there was no reservation.

Pros: Good car Good gas mileageCons: Drop off was terrible. Persons in garage were pushy and grabbed my keys and locked the car as soon as I arrived. Asked them THREE TIMES NOT TO LOCK THE Car UNTIL I GOT MY TGHINGS OUT!!! But they did anyway and said they did not. They had the keys so it was not me who locked it. Seemed like they just wanted to grab the car and not give me time to exit Just a bums rush!!

Hoping for a better experience next timePros: The price was much more affordable than Hertz's car rental for a driver under 21 years of age, although a little excessive.Cons: The car was parked very close to a car on the left, which made it very difficult for me to get into the car initially. The car was not clean when I first entered it. The steering wheel was oily and there were crumbs from food on the floor and under the emergency brake. The windshield wipers had some sort of sticky residue under the rubber, not allowing me to properly wipe my windshields. Visibility was low during my road trip, making driving somewhat dangerous.

Walked in the freezing cold and wasn't able to have a car to start our vacation off with very disappointing. Was never told.

Thrifty Car Rental at Syracuse Airport CLOSEDCons: Made reservations on 1/21/18 for rental dates of 2/16 to 2/20. When we arrived at the airport on the morning of 2/16, we were informed by other car rental agencies that Thrifty had closed up permanently about a week prior, not only at the airport location but at all locations that the one franchisee/owner operated. We were not informed by any means, which left us scrapping for another car. We were able to obtain one through Budget/Avis, but unfortunately we were unable to get the size car we wanted. Any car is better than no car, but had the Thrifty franchisee/location owner informed us at the time they closed, we would have been able to search out a car from another agency. Poor management and ownership representation. Would like to give ZERO stars.

Should have driven my own car and risked breaking downPros: BluetoothCons: I paid almost $400 for 3.5 days. If the car was at least midsize it would have been almost worth it, but it was a tiny compact Ford Fiesta and I felt carsick the entire time driving it! Mind you this was almost $400 without ANY coverage. $25 extra per day because I’m under 25 years old. I will never rent from thrifty again.

No car despite reservationPros: not one thing.Cons: We arrived to the airport only to learn that there was no car available for us despite holding a reservation for weeks. No notification. No offer to remedy the situation. Terrible service. Will never use Thrifty again.

Bait and switchCons: Rate advertised when booked was special, "compact" - to be a vehicle "compact or larger" to be determined upon arrival. Upon check-in attendent said that rate was for whichever vehicle they have the most of, which in this case was 12-passenger vans. Driving a 12 passenger van was a rediculous option for my purpose, so I asked for a compact vehicle. She said they had none. The only other viable vehicle available was a luxury, which they said they would discount. Cost ended up being $310 instead of booked rate of $120. I'm very unhappy and diasappointed. Also after getting vehicle I smelled, and noticed marijuana crumbs on center console storage area.
