Drop off was super easy and I got an even better car than I expected.The all fees including the deposit should have been included in my reservation details. The location I was originally supposed to pick the car up from was closed and I only found a bit before I was supposed to pick the car up.

Staff member Sarah was very nice.The initial car had a broken windshield washer, and I was told there were no other cars available. After a call and a couple of trips back to the car rental place, they were able to find another car. It would have been unsafe to drive a car without a functioning windshield washer especially on snowy roads in Colorado.

The customer service and car were great.I didn't like the surprise $150 deposit I was asked for when I went to pick up the car. I didn't know that that deposit existed.

Nothing. Representative was extremely rude on both pick up and drop off. High pressure sales tactics for extra insurance, add ons and lied about the available vehicles. Wanted to charge me extra for " the only available car" being above the tier I paid for.Absolutely everything! Rude service.

The car itself was very up to date with technology which was nice and having Sirius on a long roadtrip was great.Waited in line for 30 minutes to get my car and it was gross on the inside. Also called about 8 times in one day to try to get ahold of someone to ask a question and no one ever answered the phone.

Great car great priceThe car was brand new and full of all the new accessories — leather seats, seat warmers, ambient lighting that changes color. It was such a comfy ride to take cross country and worth every penny. The guy at the pick up was intent on getting us a good road trip car. I will definitely choose budget again!!Nothing! Great experience all around.

Worst rental experienceDespite Kayak saying there were plenty of compact cars at both budget and Avis, we arrived to be told there were no cars. After much discussion, we were finally told the only thing left was a minivan...Spent a week with a minivan trying to drive through mountains...Tried to change the return time by two hours and return the car at the airport vs in town only to be told it would increase the price by over $200!!

Car smelled like cigarette smokePrice was fair.Car smelled like cigarette smoke, was dirty. Had to pay more because I showed up 30 minutes before reservation, but the car I'd reserved hadn't been returned yet.

well, it's my own fault I guess but I did not check ahead of time when the rental place closed and I got there 1 minute after my drop-off which also was the time they closed and they were already gone! I called their # and got transferred to the main hub. I explained to (the kid!) that was on the phone with me and I was told that this particular store was not an "after hours" store and I told him that there WAS a key box on the outside and that I had put my key in there but he couldn't tell me if I'd get charged for another day or not! WTF? There should be some kind of standard for that. Seems to me this kid did not know his job. I regret not getting his name and asking him to put a note in with my rental that I dropped it off in time and that they left EARLY!

Pick up took almost two hours as the office was completely understaffed. The only lady working there was doing her best, but half of the computer terminals were not working and there was simply too much business for one person to handle.

Nothing.Everything. My rental vehicle wasn't ready when I picked it up, so I waited while they "cleaned" it, which was only vacuuming—no other cleaning, no COVID-level disinfecting. It was a work van so I figured fine if it wasn't super clean. However, while I had the rental I found multiple Q-tips (in the cupholders and on the floor), a bobby pin in another cupholder and tortilla chips on the floor. Gross. While driving the van in the rain, I discovered that it LEAKED extensively from the rearview mirror onto the dash/console (where the electronics are), flooding the cupholders and dripping onto the floor. I was moving a van full of antique furniture from my parents' estate, so flooding in the vehicle was a concern. It rained 4 days--so I drove with a towel over the dash to try to protect the electronics, and water dripping everywhere. I had to sop dirty water out of those uncleaned cupholders. When I went to drop the van off there were 3 parties ahead of me and 2 people working. I waited 40+ minutes just to return the vehicle. During this time employees were running around, no one greeted/acknowledged any of the waiting customers--people were not happy. When it was my turn, I told them about the dirtiness and the leak--which they needed to fix. The woman checking me in said something like, oh no, that's not ok, and then LEFT THE ROOM without explanation—and didn't come back!! I was left waiting while she was in the next room loudly chit-chatting with the people ahead of me for 10 minutes, making sure that they were taken care of while I stood there wondering if she was coming back. When the other employee finished with his customer he asked if I was being helped—I told him that I thought I was, but that the woman just left. His dismissively responded, “well don’t worry about that” and he tried to hurry me up as there were other people waiting behind me. I told him again about the dirtiness and the leak, and wanted to show him where the leak was. I felt hurried and dismissed—he didn’t want to see the photos or video I took, I had to force him to do a once-over of the vehicle to make sure there wasn't any new damage--there was body damage to the vehicle when I picked it up, so I didn't want to be charged for that. Because I was getting brushed off, I told the man I told the man that they have a major customer service problem, which is an understatement. There was no apology about the terrible customer service, the van not being ready or clean or the leak, but he told me I would be compensated for the problems and "not be charged for one day or something." Needless to say, I wasn't compensated and WAS CHARGED FULL PRICE. Really incompetent all around. I won’t rent here again and am notifying Hertz corporate about my experience.

The staff was ok and drop off and pick up were both greatThe van I rented was dirty when I got it and they seemed to have no desire to clean it. I had to get going pretty quick so I did not push the issue.

The staff was friendly just understaffed not enough help. Your employee had to attempt to clean cars, rent cars, fill cars with gas at another location. How can hertz justify one employee to do all those jobs and not be able to attend to customers in a timely manner. The car had just returned from Florida wasn’t cleaned to covid standards. There was dry dirt prints on the seats from a dog being in the vehicle. Wasn’t wiped down properly. If you have covid standards then they are not being met! This employee is doing the best he can with all these jobs and hats put on him. I don’t fault your employee I fault hertz corporate rent a car for the sub standards. I don’t know about the higher ups but when I spend $353.00 of my money to rent your car I expect a clean car the outside had bug kill in the hood and windshield. I am disappointed in this transaction and hope you take this into account how you handle your rental business in the future!The car could have been cleaned inside and out that isn’t a far fetched expectation.

The employee I interacted with both times was pleasant to deal with. He upsold me and I'm glad I did -- he suggested I rent the next biggest vehicle to fit all passengers and luggage and I barely fit.The car was not cleaned at all when I got into it. There were drink splatters on the interior windows, trash, dirt and crumbs on seats and floors; the outside was dirty as well.

The staff was rude, and gave us a minivan instead of a sedan. We had to wait outside on the pavement with our luggage while he vacuumed the van, as it hadn't been cleaned yet. Still filthy once we got in, dog hair and gunk everywhere. No apologies about the inconvenience.

Pick up problemsWe asked for an economy car. When we arrived to pick it up, we were recommended an upgrade for a 'discounted rate' of an additional $10. We refused the upgrade and were then informed that there were no economy cars, and we would get the bigger, upgraded car for no additional charge. This upsets me for two reasons - first, we would have been charged for the upgrade had we not refused, even though the car we reserved a month in advance was not there. And two - we prefer smaller cars, and had purposely reserved a small car, yet were unable to get the one we reserved.
