We didn't get the van we reserved..this makes 2 years in a row..making our vacation a nightmare with a large family and a wheelchair.. so getting the van we reserved and called twice to confirm,and was told both times that we in fact we ours have what we requested.10,0 Wonderful

Check-in process took 30 minutes because they couldn’t figure out how to do the technology. He signed the rental agreement for me which I think is illegal. The car didn’t have a full tank of gas and wasn’t clean. Then they were closed on Sundays when my scheduled return was and I got charged for an extra day. Don’t rent from here!!!!Avis

. The facility itself was so dirty. Trash laying around the waiting room. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. One person working the entire facility. He was doing his best but the process wasn’t great. There was no walk around to mark dings/imperfections on the car. My car was filthy when I got it. Not only was there NO sanitation/COVID cleaning there were cracker crumbs on the floor of the backseat. Dog hair all over. The navigation/backup camera screen was shattered. It was not good. The person working there said there weren’t any other cars he could give me. I had to be at an appointment in a few minutes so there wasn’t anything I could do. Thankfully, upon return, they did not charge me for the rental. The person working there did his best to make the situation right but they clearly need more staff if he’s the only one expected to run the counter, check in and out cars AND clean. It was not a good experience and I would be renting from here again.6,4 Okay

The car smelled of cigarettes and wasn’t very clean. The gas gauge was also broken on the car. Filled up the tank before dropping off but only showed it was 3/4ths full.7,6 Good

The vehicle was almost new, very nicely equipped and comfortable. We received extraordinary service when we returned the car to O’Hare airport. Unfortunately I don’t remember the man’s name, but we were very impressed by his willingness to help my family with our luggage, etcCons:

Cons:
Asked for a Ford Focus got a Chevy Volt, had to cram the car because I was moving a a lot of stuff with me. O'Hair site is really inconvenient and has poor signage. Hertz' website should have some instructions for getting picked up from the O'Hair Hertz. The car smelled slightly of (cigarette) smoke, brakes creaked, and the oil change reminder came on. Lastly, the link to the receipt Hertz sent me will not load.4,0 Mediocre

I was late for 34 minutes when returning the car, and they charged me the whole day for insurance and car for 75$. Although, on their website they mention the grace period is up to 59 minutes. Avoid this company!2,0 Poor

Twenty minutes before pick up time, rental place calls me and says "we don't have any vans...sorry they let you book it" So, trip ruined, 7 people didn't get to go as planned, etc. bad birthday for my daughter. Furthermore, Kayak accepted no responsibility and passed the buck to Payless... Just a sad situation. I also was charged for insurance on the vehicle that I never even picked up...since there was NOTHING available.3,2 Poor

The 30 minute wait (really 30 minutes) to get my rental, while the salesperson tried to upsell the only other person in the rental trailer. It is quite a drive to the off site rental trailer. The wear on the outside of the car was very noticeable. Lots of nicks, and chrome pealing.8,0 Very Good
