Nice, helpful staff. Our train was delayed, so we arrived during the siesta (Hertz Bari was closed 1300-1530, then the staff person who could check us out was delayed by his own train until after 1600. We were disappointed to lose ~3 hours at our one night at a “splurge” masseria. Car was great & allowed us to explore Puglia! We got a hybrid, so helped with gas mileage too!

The experience was terrible as we reserved the car many weeks before and when we wanted to pick it up, they didn’t accept any of our credit cards at the counter, even though we offered 3 of them(!). We tried with VISA (comdirect) and Mastercard (N26 & Swedbank). The reasons behind were as ridiculous as the unwillingness of the staff to help us out. Funny fact: just 3 weeks before, we rented a car with Thrifty in France with one of the cards mentioned above and it was working just fine. During the booking, we received no information about the requirements of the credit cards. At the end, we didn’t get the car and had to pay more than twice to get a car from another provider last-minute.

I showed up to pick my car & my car was given way because i arrived on the 26th of june instead of the 25 th ( my mistake ) however the person i dealt with did not try to get me another car seeing that we were stranded , needed a car desperately , so we went to Europcar who took care of us , she went all out to get us a car reasonably priced ----thats customer service not what i received with Dollar

Pros:

Honestly nothing. We were lied to. The best part was the rep from the other rental car company we ended up using.

Cons:

This was the worst possible experience I could have imagined. We chose to use kayak and budget because they are supposedly reputable companies but this experience was a total scam. We were told our reservation wasn’t valid and would need to book a different car for 3x the price once we arrived.

Pros:

Honestly nothing. It took nearly two hours to get the car. The line was incredibly slow and a total mess. We had reserved an Audi, but they only had a Ford Focus, and tried to claim it was in the same class. Then they tried to up sell us. They were doing the same thing to everyone.

Cons:

The pick up process was a total mess. They are very deceptive in the classes of car that they advertise. It took about two hours to actually get a car. Would never rent from this Avis again. Allow yourself time for the return as that also takes longer than it should.

They barely even help you anymore at this point wirh a live human. My reservation was wrong at the desk according to them, so I of course owed more money. No one walks you out to the car to assist or help ensure you’re all set and know how to use the vehicle. My car was set to German and it took my driving all the way to my hotel an hour away to get someone to help me figure out how to change it. Was not easy. Then u get the final bill emailed in Italian, despite them knowing I’m an American citizen who speaks English. So I have no idea how to read it and why I’m being charged more. Terrible customer service.

We liked the good value for money, and the car itself was just what we wanted and had no issues. It was not completely clean though when we received it, nor did it come full of fuel- under half a tank. The pick up and collection from the car park was fine and very quick. It was the wait time at the drivalia desk to sign the contract and pay the deposit which took too long. We joined the queue at 10:30am and we’re not at the front until 12:00pm. We were not in a rush but other customers were as they had plans or connections to make.

the company did not review the car and if it had damages or scratches on it and i picked up the car in the dark. thus, was not able to see any visible damages on the car. when i returned it, i was charged for damages that i did not do while driving the car. the car was not clean when i picked it up and had a very poor experience overall.

These guys are the worst. Watch out for all kinds of hidden charges and if anyone tells you anything about your rental, make sure you get it in writing. These guys are supreme scam artists. Don’t get suckered like I did.

Awful experience. I regularly rent cars when going abroad and this has been the worst experience. Their ‘offices’ are in the middle of nowhere, they don’t make it clear enough that you need to get a shuttle. The shuttle is driven by someone who’s constantly on their phone driving dangerously. Once we arrived they told me I needed an international driving license as they couldn’t accept mine which is from the UK. This information as well as the information that they do not take AMEX was disclosed nowhere in the booking emails I have received. They offered an ‘alternative’ where I pay over €100 insurance which is non refundable for a days rental which is ridiculous. Ended up booking with Hertz on the day who were surprised my driving license wasn’t accepted. Please don’t waste your money and go with the big ones.

A total scam, company never sent copy of the contract, the address was wrong and i ended up looking for them for an hour with a taxi driver. When I returned the vehicle nobody was there to receive it, we waited for 45 minutes along with other customers, because my flight was leaving I had to leave the car outside of their place. The vehicle was returned as per the agreement, ahead of time, with a full tank and no damages and they are charging me for my entire deposit. This is a total scam !!!

The guy was very polite, responsible and professional one. The registration procedure was a little long and the online check in was not available. Be careful to be early of you have other schedule ahead because there is lack of staff. Only one person serving more than 6 customers in the same time. Any how in overall is a good choice.
