Pros: Very luxurious rooms and extremely clean and classy! The the staff are very helpful they make you feel like they're your family!! chambery is a quiet and a absolutely safe small city and it's people are very friendly and smiley!
Cons: There is no elevators but its ok since it's a small hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: When I was at school, the masters never gave 100% on principal as nobody was ever perfect, but I cannot score as low as 9.6 as Petit Hotel Confidentiel may be the best hotel we have ever stayed at. It is a small hotel so it did not have the big staff and shopping arcade, but the rooms were beautiful, the bed and pillows, which they offered to us to buy, were so comfortable, it was very quiet and the staff, especially the lovely Charlotte, the direttrice, could not have been more helpful. A minor plumbing problem was fixed immediately. Breakfast was limited, but more than enough for us. As we like Chambéry vermouth, they were happy to serve us one as a nightcap and only charged us for two. The light switches were slightly eccentric, but they explained how they worked. Charlotte gave us recommendations for restaurants which were good. I cannot fault it.
Cons: We asked for blankets on the bed, but they were unable to provide them. They suggested that they were unhygienic which is why they only use duvets. Duvets are hot, even in winter, but they worked out something that worked for us. Duvets are almost universal in hotels these days. Also, the shower was a trifle eccentric and took us sometime to work out. The usual two shower set, one on the ceiling and a hand held one, but it was too low. It would have been better on the wall and adjustable, but it is petty to quibble when the hotel was so good!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It was a pleasure to meet the owners who couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel has been completely renovated and restored to a very high spec. Rooms are large and extremely comfortable. Ideally situated in the old quarters of the town.
Cons: Nothing.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Expensive for what you get.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem! We only were able to spend one night but loved the hotel, the staff and the location. Especially impressive was the way they handled the bags (to a first floor room) and the car (pedestrian zone). They took care of everything with no worries to us at all. Would love to return.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Did not expect such small hotel would turn out so good. Room is spacious, newly designed and with all the amenities(electric kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, safe). They even have one small beautifully designed heated pool for their guests. Location is perfect, in the old town which is near to lots of cafes/restaurants. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing.
9,2 Excellent
Cons: We requested two identical rooms close together. Room 9 was much nicer than Room 24.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming, spotlessly clean, beautiful room. Great location. Lovely small pool and steam room. Very relaxing. Definitely want to go back.
Cons: Nothing

3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Location. I’ve been there several times.
Cons: Noisy room due to a water leak above the toilet roof. I woke up twice during the night. Water on the toilet floor and in the room. I slipped in the bathroom and water over the room floor was in contact with an electrical socket with high risk of electrocution.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Flexibility to eat in restaurant without reservation
6,3 Good
Pros: Beautiful old buildings and well restored. The park could use some work but is pleasant and natural. The pool is fine. I like that there are two levels of restaurant, one top quality for those dining out, one excellent value for travellers.
Cons: We were kindly upgraded to a €270 room to be on the ground floor with a walker but there was no shower - no bathroom even, just a bathtub in the room itself, Californian style. OK in summer perhaps but most of the year it is far too cold to bathe in an open room where the humidity stays low. Showering in a bathtub with no grab rail is risky for old folks, but my main complaint is that the WC was in a small closet off the room (no airlock such as a hall), with no handbasin in there and no extract ventilation. All three faults would be against the law in most countries but in France they perhaps make an exception for very old buildings? For me this would not be acceptable even if the room cost €27 instead of €270 - you could install extract ventilation for less than the room costs per night! We shall not be staying there again until they spend more on the HVAC.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great but wasn’t included in the overall price.

Cons: The bed was a little hard.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Great room, staff, parking and location.

Cons: Breakfast was good but the experience was spoilt because of an intimidating waitress who was keeping an eye every time everyone tried to get food, interfering and tidying up as you moved along the breakfast bar, unfortunately not a relaxing experience.

5,8 Okay
Pros: The location was good for stop over and the parking was good and secure. Good choice of shops nearby.
Cons: The fact that breakfast is not included for the amount we paid for the room makes it not good value for money. The carpet in the room was disgraceful dirty and really needs changing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: An ideal stop on a transit through the Frejus tunnel. Well appointed, with ample parking, you get excellent value for money and a good Italian style restaurant thrown in. The breakfast was of the highest standard making the VFM even greater. The staff are all multilingual and couldn’t have been more helpful.
Cons: Located for ease of access to the autoroute the hotel is in the midst of a complex of roads and shopping areas: don’t expect to walk around sightseeing. In fact we didn’t see a single pedestrian! The carpet in the room was tired. It was marked and somewhat tacky under bare feet.
7,9 Good
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Wi-fi not too good. Poor lighting in room

Pros: Nice breakfast, good location for our visit, comfortable bed, nice and quiet
Cons: The air conditioning did not work so the room was too hot. The shower also did not stay in position so it was not easy to shower

7,5 Good
Pros: Easy to access from motorway with food outlets nearby.
Cons: Got into the room the curtain (which was some sort of plastic material) had holes in which made the first impression of the room look shabby......surely somebody in house keeping must have noticed this.
8,8 Excellent

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and the staff at the reception very friendly. The location is close to the highway near a shopping area. There are numerous shops and boulangeries nearby. Parking is free. We had a great stay for 1 night.
Cons: Breakfast is average.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location good - a good halfway house for the journey from Cesenatico (Italy) to Paris. We have stayed at the Ibis, Chambery twice before and whilst our previous stay was not without issues (our room had previously been occupied by a smoker and whilst the hotel staff did a good job of “freshening” the atmosphere in the room the smell of tobacco was ingrained in the fabric of the room) this time our stay was up to the high standard normally expected at Ibis hotels.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money, near the Chamnord Mall. Near other Stores. Lots of parking Space.
Cons: Provide an Ice Machine for each floor. Should have a small ref. Needs to have a bigger sign of the hotel.

4,2 Okay

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly.
Cons: I don't think it's close to the city center because it's a very small city and you can stay anywhere closer for the same price.
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff were so lovely, honestly so helpful and really made a rainy day brighter :) the breakfast is lovely, as all French food is haha, honestly good for a short stay.
Cons: Could be little repairs doing, after a shower and you open the door the water would flood out, drain gets clogged easy, but these are things to simply laugh about and overlook but may be an on-going issue with the hotel.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Théâtre Hôtel, you'll be centrally located in Chambery, within a 5-minute walk of Elephants Fountain and Carre Curial. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and an elevator.
6,3 Good
Pros: The hotel was in the old center of town and a not-too-long walk from the train station.
Cons: Because it was hot, we needed to open windows, but the noise from bars made sleeping difficult.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant quality and great sleep; location excellent and very nice and helpful at reception.
4,2 Okay
Pros: The room was fair sized by French standards. That is a plus. There is nothing to like about a place that needs a coat of paint, has lights that go on and off while you are struggling to walk upstairs in the dark- I don't like elevators the size of a sardine can. The staff where, however, very nice.
Cons: I didn't like the no frill attitude. Less than no frills. I am not a big fan of plastic and do no9t see why the TWO cups in the bathroom were plastic. Save the planet!!!!. The ONLY other 'frill' was a couple of pairs of ear plugs because this hotel has the noisiest street in town right outside. It was a vey cold night, even thought it was May. I need hardly say that there was no heating. And the Wi Fi kept cutting out. The pillows were the wrong shape for a tall man and there was no choice. A notice said you had to book a space for your breakfast. No need. There is cheap cafe right outside.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very nice, helpful staff
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was lovely
Cons: The room was very hot
10,0 Excellent

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Simple, clean, no fuss, good shower, washing facilities compact but very well designed so did not feel cramped and everything worked well. Bed comfortable and allowed enough room to get in and out reasonably easily.
4,6 Okay
Pros: it was on our way
Cons: absolutely not for a longer stay
7,9 Good
Pros: It was affordable and functional. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect upon arrival, but you get everything you need. You can check in from a machine on the outside near the cafe, and your room has a small corner (pod-like) bathroom featuring a shower and toilet.
Cons: I wasn't entirely sure how to check out, expecting some place to leave the card. Ended up handing it to a random member of staff (they didn't speak English, but understood 'Checkout'). During the entire night just outside the room, there was a van making some constant beeping noise - this isn't really the hotel's fault, but a bit inconsiderate by whoever left it there.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Not much ... very disappointing !
Cons: The Restaurant ... A hot dish was served ... chicken escalope ... the entire centre of the chicken was completely raw. For this to happen once could be excused as an accident. But later that evening, the same thing happened to another guest. Dangerous !! And when a complaint was made that evening, and again the next morning at check-out, none of the staff seemed too concerned. . Reception ... Very limited times open. . NEVER AGAIN AT THIS PLACE !!!!
5,4 Okay
Pros: location.
Cons: the rooms are extremely small, and the shower cabins are tinny. the final price was more expensive than listed because of added fees.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Breakfast menu could have been better.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great but wasn’t included in the overall price.
Cons: We had to change rooms 3 times as the other rooms were not adequate. Also the door was left open by a member of staff when all of our belongings were in the room, so when we got back to the room it was unlocked.

Cons: The bed was a little hard.

Pros: Everything. Great room, staff, parking and location.
Cons: Having to leave.
7,5 Good
Cons: Breakfast was good but the experience was spoilt because of an intimidating waitress who was keeping an eye every time everyone tried to get food, interfering and tidying up as you moved along the breakfast bar, unfortunately not a relaxing experience.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a little hotel with a big heart! The staff was amazing & really tried to communicate with us with our limited language ability & the location was within walking distance to the old city & all of the sights. The breakfast was superb & reserved parking was great! The beds were comfortable & room comfortable- I would definitely stay there again!
