Pros: Charming helpful staff, delicious eggs from their own hens and a personal shuttle service to places close to the hotel.

Pros: Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pool, thermal bath and Turkish bath were wonderful. The view from the room terrace was enchanting.

Cons: The music playing whilst eating. People smoking on neighbouring room terraces and at mealtimes.

Pros: Villa d'Orta is high on the hill and very quiet and peaceful with a magnificent view of the bay of Naples from most rooms. The facilities are excellent. Best of all are the staff members. Absolutely wonderful, friendly, very professional and very obliging. There was never a "no" answer to any request. They also run a shuttle to and from the hotel down to the town centre and to the marina several times a day. We enjoyed our stay and ate at the hotel every day, both breakfast and dinner and sometimes lunchtime snacks. The dinner menu varies each day. Most food and beverages are produced locally. All things considered my husband and I would highly recommend this hotel for a very pleasant, peaceful stay.

Cons: The only small negative I would say is that the shower pressure was really poor in our room. But that may be just the room we were in and not all of them. The showers at the poolside and the shower outside the turkish spa had really good pressure.

Pros: The staff was amazing, always smiling and ready to help. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all delicious. The see view from our room was beautiful. Best hotel experience we had in Italy.

Pros: I really liked the view from the rooftop. It was wonderful to have a hotel away from the city centre in a beautifully breathtaking location in a forest like atmosphere.

Cons: - the frequency of the shuttle service (apparently they couldn’t run it more often due to police order, not sure how accurate this is) - I didn’t like the fact that we need to call everytime we want a shuttle. What if I didn’t get a phone package for Italy, would the hotel cover my phone charges for each call? It wouldn’t. They need to keep this in mind, not everybody has access to the their phone while abroad. -6 euros to rent a bathrobe, come on, what a rip off. Unnecessary costs for their guests. -breakfast very limited. - most of the staff were wonderful with a few negatives. The one working at the breakfast restaurant was very rude

Pros: The hotel is located on the mountainside, some distance from Ischia Port, and the rooms have an exquisite viewof the sea. The hotel provides a pick-up service to the bus station at Ischia Port, which is not that convenient to the ferry landing when one is struggling with baggage.

Cons: The location meant that one was dependent on the hotel's dining room. The prices were fairly high and, while the menu was ambitious, the execution was not always wonderful.

Pros: Breakfast buffet was excellent but so was the evening dinner which started with an impressive antipasti buffet too. After the first night, we decided it was better to eat in the hotel than go into town. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus into town and back at convenient times which was a much needed necessity. They also pick you up and drop you back to the ferry terminal so no need for taxis. What really made this hotel stand out was the universal friendliness of the staff who couldn't do enough for us; service with a smile! The cleanliness of the hotel is of a high standard too.

Cons: Nothing that we could fault at all.

Pros: Much space to drink a tee and enjoy the beautiful view. Breakfast is very good, spa, massage and many other things to spend the time. Possibility to rent a car / bike which is very practical on this island.

Cons: You should always pay a supplement to rent a towel for SPA/to get a blanket / to make an omlette etc

Pros: Everything has this pristine and charming flair about it. A warm staff, wonderful breakfast, idyllic rooftop pool, great service around the clock, to name a few. Definitely coming back next year!

Pros: As mentioned previously, every thing was really good enough. That Except Dinners was not to satisfay our needs and wants. Other than that was Excellent staying at your Hotel.

Cons: The location isn’t that great but if your there for a couple of nights it’s fine. The only issue we had is the lack of restaurants nearby. We chose Cantinando which is only a 2 min walk from the hotel and it was lovely. We just struggled the other night we were there

Pros: Mixed staff. Some super helpful and nice and some arrogant and unwilling to go extra mile. The staff at the breakfast was super but at the reception arrogant.

Cons: For a five star hotel two little bottles of complimentary water - ONLY on the day of arrival. If you want more, you pay €8 per bottle. The shower is tiny, robes are old. In overall the hotel needs a face lift.

Pros: A totally wonderful holiday at this amazing hotel. This is such a hidden gem and it’s no less than a little piece of paradise. A beautiful hotel, wonderful facilities and magnificent staff. The food in the restaurants is exceptional and the breakfast is absolutely incredible. This is one of the few but wonderful occasions when a property and the team are better than expected.

Cons: Really the only minor issue was there was no kettle or coffee / tea making facilities in the room. However a kettle was provided when we asked reception. Apart from that this was an exceptional hotel.

Pros: We loved everything about our stay! The best place I have been to in Italy!

Pros: We loved our stay at Ape Regina. The location is incredible with great views and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. We would definitely stay again

Pros: This accommodation is like an oasys of peace and tranquillity with a mesmerising view that takes your breath away. The swimming pool was great! The room was clean, breakfast was very good and the owners of the place very helpful. The location is beautiful though not easily accessible by foot from the port. This is not a problem because there is a bus every hour right next to the hotel. We had a great stay here and we would definetely go back here again.

Pros: The view, pool and staff were spectacular. The whole entire staff had an amazing impact on our stay. Giuseppe, while running errands, bought our tickets for the ferry to leave the island, the older gentleman, when I hurt my hand pretty badly and accidentally took me in, cleaned my wound and bandaged me up. The breakfast and dinner were fresh and delicious. Every room has a balcony looking over the beautiful island. Rooms, lobby and bar are all beautiful.

Cons: The only downside is timing the bus to go down to town to go out. If you stay out late, you’ll have to take cab back up. The ride isn’t long though.

Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful, it has an amazing view of both sea and mountains and the sunsets look beautiful from the terrace. We really enjoyed the time spent by the pool and having a glass of wine on the terrace, which is full of flowers and just give you a wonderful feeling. The staff was very helpful and nice throughout our stay and the bruschetti prepared here were the best we've tasted. We would definitely come back but next time we need to rent a car in order to explore better the surroundings.

Cons: If possible, I recommend you come by car or you rent a car because using the bus can be a bit of a hassle. There is a direct bus that takes you to the center, however it comes only once every hour so you really have to plan accordingly and the public transport system is a bit disorganized on the island. The supermarket is also a good 30 minutes walk (or some 10 minutes with the bus), which I think is important to know if you are not coming with a car.

Pros: Staff are very friendly and lovely. View from our balcony room was beautiful. Good air conditioning for the stifling heat at night. Great breakfast.

Cons: Our bed was terribly uncomfortable- two single beds pushed together to make a double. Springs poking into our backs and hard. Not a pleasant sleep even with a cool room. The price was for peak season but absolutely wasn’t worth it - even for Italian standards.

Pros: Nice view over Casamicciola, very clean, quiet and clean pool, lot of trees and flowers, friendly staff.

Pros: Very nice pool/lounge area and the rooms are very clean. The staff is really nice and helpful. I would only recommend to bring a small car to reach the property. The road to get there is quite narrow.

Pros: Awesome place. The rooms are rustic, but very nice. The place have a beautiful view on the sea. Breakfast and diners are excellent. Personnel is very nice and helpful. You can definitely rest and have some quiet time.

Pros: Agriturismo Pera Di Basso is absolutely stunning, overlooking the hills and bay of Casamicciola Terme. It is exceptionally well maintained and clear that Mario, the owner, takes pride in it

Pros: I looked for the stay in Italian island Ischia for my spring holiday. According to my previous experience I prefer country side small hotels – agriturismo in Italian. I found Pera Di Basso. This is family running boutique hotel hidden from any undesirable influence. It placed on the high altitude plateau surrounded by intensive green forest. The beauty of this small village is unbelievable. Scenic view of the sea, hills and Naples coast was amazing. We had the superior room with large window in front of our bed that accomplished the filling of relaxing surround. We had half board pension during our stay. The south Italian breakfast and dinner were very tasty and accompanied with excellent local vine. But the real pearl of the place is it's owner Mario. Like known " The Great Gatsby" he was " The Great Mario"! His outstanding hospitality converted our stay to unforgettable. I think that Pera di Bassa is maybe the best place to stay in Ischia for really filling the unique atmosphere of the island. High recommended!

Pros: This is a beautiful property, very well maintained. Family run, all with a lot of care. The food was superb, both breakfast and dinner. The family was welcoming and always very nice. Mr. Mario picked us up at the ferry and brought us back down. He gave us a lot of information about te island and suggestions about where to go. The place is set up for quiet relaxation. Lots of little alcoves and seating areas throughout the garden. The garden is meticulously cared for. All the fruit and vegetables are grown there. What a beautiful retreat!

Cons: Nothing really. People must be aware that this is an out of the way place. It takes a while to get there, up in the mountain and if you don’thave A dar, you have to depend on transportation from the place, or from a few taxis that make it all the way up there.

Pros: The staff were so warm, friendly and welcoming. I felt truly at home here and on holidays. I loved looking at the panoramic views each day. I left feeling relaxed and calm. I would love to make a return visit.

Pros: Fantastic value for money. Very surprised that the thermal spa circuit was included in the price . It had a free shuttle to the nearest bus stop. Our bedroom overlooked the sea and mountains with an enormous balcony. It was incredible.

Cons: The location was fantastic for a get away stay but otherwise you need to catch the bus to travel to restaurants and shop or local activities and sightseeing. There are some nearby restaurants.

Pros: Great staff. Great service. Great food. Spa was absolutely amazing which btw is included in the room price. The location is also great in terms of views and a fresh air but is hard to walk up there from ports, need to take a cab, which is quick and cheap. The only suggestion would be to be careful with small insects that come in the room if windows are open without blocking nets which are installed on all the windows and terrace doors. Enjoy!

Pros: It is a very nice small hotel. The location is very quiet and they arrange the transportation to get around the island. I can recomend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet place with great views, clean rooms and good food.

Pros: The owners were very charming and helpful. We also loved Luigi the waiter who looked after us very well and recommended a great restaurant to us.

Cons: We wished we had booked a taxi with the hotel on our arrival day. We certainly did on our departure. It just cost 20 euro. On arrival we just got in a local taxi as we had done for several days in Naples, the driver charged us 37 , when given 40 had no change, absolute rip off. Nothing to do with the hotel just a warning to other guests. My only suggestion to the hotel if they could run a transfer coach at 12 it would be great!

Pros: Poggio is situated in a beautiful part of Ischia, the views from our balcony of the mountains on one side & the sea the other were fantastic. We found the staff at Poggio very accommodating & very helpful & the hotel was the perfect place to relax & recuperate.

Cons: Its only a slight grumble here, the WIFI wasnt very good throughout the hotel. I found that you needed to be in the main bar/reception area for this to be strong. We couldnt get on the WIFI from our room. Secondly, I do think that the food could be better. We looked at the evening Menu for one of the nights & was disappointed with the selection vs the price.

Cons: Breakfast was very ordinary. We lacked fresh fruit and decent musli. Beds were uncomfortable and smelled bad. Although sheets were very tidy. But you had to wear a swim cap on your hair to use the pool.

Cons: The refrigerator wasn’t closed and worked very bad. The table was broken and didn’t fold out. There were no soap, dishwashing liquid, sponges.

Pros: Really good location in the town beside the port. Breakfast was tasty (but slightly limited in choice) and was available from 8am-11am! The bed was comfortable and the hotel was lovely and quiet, given how busy the town is.

Cons: Pool is a bit away from the hotel and is in the shade from 3pm (in September) if you want to enjoy the sun. The shower was slightly broken in the room, the temperature control was gone and kept jumping from ice cold to hot. We would have appreciated someone telling us about activities we could do in the area or recommending places to go - we had to search ourselves. We weren’t even told about their spa so didn’t use it.

Pros: I booked this hotel because it was very close to the ferry terminal, but on arrival I realised that our ferry docked at Ischia Port & not Casamicciola! It turned out to be a great mistake as the hotel is only a 10 minute bus ride from Ischia and the area is not so crowded. The hotel staff were friendly and the room clean and comfortable. There was a lovely pool available, although we never used it. There are bus stops really close to the hotel, with frequent buses, so you can go anywhere on the island without requiring a car.

Cons: Although the bathroom had a great shower, the design was a little style over substance. There wasn’t anywhere to put toiletries either in the room or the shower. The toilet roll holder was difficult to reach, wedged by the side of the bidet. Minor points, but I’d rather have a functional bathroom than a trendy one!

Pros: Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a problem with our bed and the day after they changed us immediately to a better room. Location is superb, very close to ferry terminal, but also shops and bus stop

Cons: Basic accommodation. Certainly not big enough or equipped for a family of 4 for anymore than a few nights. Very basic breakfast selection.

Pros: Breakfast is served on a terrace looking across to the mainland and Vesuvius, which is a real treat and a great way to start the day! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we found the location to be perfect to easily travel around the island as well as to have some quiet time once back. If you're traveling with kids, the swimming pool view rooms would be best because they come with big patios just above the pool. If you are traveling in couple or solo, the sea view rooms will take your breath away every morning. In any case, there's a huge shared rooftop terrace with an even broader view that shouldn't be missed.

Cons: Breakfast could be a little richer or more varied, but there's enough to start the day with no real complaints (brioches, eggs on toast, yoghurt, juices, tea, coffee, fresh cakes, fruits, cereals...).

Pros: It was all so perfect! Asked for a room with a balcony and that was what I received! Could not be happier. Breakfast was very good and sweet as it is supposed to be in Italy. Room service every day, so in the evening new towels were waiting for me. In October the island is not so crowded but the weather was just perfect! All sightseeings easily accessible from the hotel as bus stop is basically in front of the hotel.

There was also an elevator that takes you from the hotel down to the main street to catch a bus or taxi into the busy part of town. Cons: Taxi drivers are not so nice - they charge ridiculous prices and the bus is so accessible - comes every 20 minutes.

Pros: Breakfast was limited but cornetto’s were freshly cooked and tasted good.

Cons: We booked a family room, beds were hard and uncomfortable. We had a patio which was dangerous as it had a window in the middle which was an air vent for the indoor pool, being a family room this wasn’t safe for children. We were overcharged on our restaurant bill and due to limited time as we had to catch a ferry and the staff lack of English we had to leave before this was sorted. Pools looked nice but were dirty. Lift and entrance to the hotel smelled terrible.
