7,0 Good
Pros: Average - OK but not great.
Cons: Ham - cold, dried out. No bacon or sausage. No decaf coffee. No fruit for cereal, such as a banana. Pancakes just so-so.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Appreciated being given the same room I had stayed in before. I live over two hours drive north of Campbell River and am here for medical reasons not available in my town. It would be appreciated to have a special rate for Medical related reasons. I would appreciate a microwave in the room. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Will stay here in the future. I am a pensioner on limited budget, so any consideration of total cost, would be wonderful and an added reason for out of town people to stay here.
Cons: I have travelled quite frequently prior to moving to my current north Island home, generally a microwave has been part of the service in the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room. The receptionist was very friendly. I love the location being right down on shoppers row and across from the beach.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice size rooms, quality of finish was good staff helpful and friendly. Good town location
Cons: Breakfast was not good, we went across the road to a cafe instead.

2,0 Mediocre
Pros: It was cleaned nice view
Cons: The service there was rude and a the place a was a rip off
1,0 Poor
Cons: Upon arrival we walked past 2 individuals shooting up in the hallway outside our room, which led to an emergency response scenario playing out in the lobby when they made their way past us and then collapsed in the entrance to the hotel. The staff did not help him, did not provide gloves or first aid kit or a blanket to the good Samaritans trying to help him. When told to call 911, the front desk employee was called a taxi instead. Onlookers were shocked and frustrated and then called for an ambulance themselves. Our sofa bed in the room had no bedding or pillows for it. We called the front desk and were told we had to go retrieve a set of bedding back at the front desk. The set I carried up had a mattress pad, sheets and a pillow but no blanket or quilt. Our kids were freezing. The TV remote didn’t work (just needed new batteries) and when we called the front desk the girl said she doesn’t do that and she’d leave a note for maintenance. (Who never came to fix it). For $194 a night we couldn’t turn on the tv. The building is very old and has an unpleasant smell. The bedding has a flat sheet, then a duvet that doesn’t get washed, then a top sheet instead of a duvet cover, so it’s not attached in any way. You end up easily touching the unwashed duvet throughout the night. On the second night there was a police incident out front where a group were fighting and man was pepper sprayed. As we were walking past, a woman ran to hand the pepper spray victim a 4 litre jug of milk which he poured all over his head on the sidewalk. We had to grab our kids out of the way of getting splashed with milk. Totally understand he’s just trying to get some relief, but the group were loud and angry and very scary to our young kids. It is a very rough area and the hotel does nothing to provide any security, so just beware of that before you stay. Our kids were scared, and if had of known we would not have stayed at the coast discovery. Definitely never coming back again.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view, comfortable bed & spacious!
Cons: A bit far from town, but the view is the trade off.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised by all the thoughtful touches - ample toiletries, extra blanket, extra pillow, quality bed linens and thick towels, good wireless, handheld shower, a big comfy bed....even a key chain. English is the owners' second language but they work hard to make sure they understand you and you them so there was no problem. And they are really friendly and seem like they genuinely care about your stay.
Cons: The owners are upgrading the property, and I am told there is new flooring in the main floor rooms. The upstairs rooms have some older carpet which has a bit of a musty smell, so ask for ground floor when you book if you think it'll be a problem. And the sofa/sofa bed is hard on the neck with sitting in a strained position to keep your head up.
7,1 Good
Pros: Good location. Good rates.
Cons: No hot water in bathroom sink.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: There are so many things I liked. The staff were wonderful, brought us a space heater and blow dryer. The kitchenette was perfect. Dishes, soap, towels and fridge. The bed was really comfortable and clean. Amazing hot water for bath and showers. Soft clean towels. Great view of the ocean. Plenty parking outside. Good lighting. Lots of extra blankets. Handy pull out couch. And super affordable.
Cons: The air in the room could use some freshening. Perhaps it used to be a smoking room?
8,0 Excellent
Pros: it was quiet, close to town, and what a view
Cons:

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, all night coffee bar.
Cons: no fresh milk
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, with nice views of the ocean. It had a nice common outside area in front of the water, with places to sit, and a fire pit. Providing cups that could be washed and reused was very eco-friendly.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location was great. Grounds were beautiful and well kept. Staff was friendly. Appreciated the coffee and tea available at all times. Checking in and out was easy and quick.
Cons: The blankets had large visible stains. On both beds! Walls were paper thin. You could hear everything from anybody around you. People walking in the hallway, opening any door, or even people making coffee downstairs. You could hear everything going on outside as well (our room overlooked the parking lot), people walking and talking anywhere in the parking lot. Including the highway traffic, all night long. Room was right beside the laundry room and it actually shook the room when appliances came on. Literally the worst sleep I've ever had outside a Super 8 motel. Not what I would consider a "resort" level room or building. The place was half empty. I understand charging more for a room with a view. I don't agree with having to pay extra just to get a goodnight's sleep.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is nice, but there were a few things that I would Have liked to have changed. I noticed no coffee in the rooms (there is coffee 24/7 in the lobby which is fine), no blow dryer, no AC (at least in my room), and the front desk is only open 8am-8pm. When we made the reservation I said 2 adults, but we only had one key, which made it difficult because we typically only got back to our room after 8pm and we were up doing stuff before 8 also. There is no food that I know of, all I saw to purchase was some chocolate bars and chips. Be sure to pack snacks.
Cons: Ocean side, quiet, clean, generally a really nice place to stay overall.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very well located.
Cons: You can hear your neighbors cellphone vibrate and snoring. Very thin walls. Needs a lot more sound proofing.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: The only thing I would change would be to have coffee pot in the room.

1,0 Poor
Pros: Very rough unsafe hitel
4,2 Okay
Cons: The beds had bed bugs, the heating was faulty, no wifi or cable tv on the 3rd floor although it was advertised as having it and the room was filthy. Dead flys in the window sills and blood stains on the pillow covers and sheets. I asked for a room transfer after night one and the staff were very accomodating and apologetic. Unfortunately the new room was also invaded by bed bugs and faulty heating. I checked out 1 night early ☹️
1,0 Poor
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Hab some bed bugs!! Got our money back after leaving the room in the middle of the night. Had no towles, toiletpaper, soap etc in the bathroom.
6,3 Good
Pros: It's right downtown close to all kinds of amenities and a block from the water.
Cons: The pop machines on each floor don't work; the elevator is iffy; the thermostat in my room was broken and it was in the full on "On" position so it was brutally hot in my room even with the windows wide open.
