Great people very friendly and helpful
We were in a large group and were well accommodated. Straight forward check in. Everything was simple. Nice clean room. Friendly room service
Our stay could have been longer ;-))
The location, and the check in staff
Valet parking is very poor service, car on leaving was not delivered to front, no help with bags, and they were not busy. Very dirty room, dust behind bed must have been building up for years. Room was not worth the money.
The location is very good. Walking distance to all the main downtown attractions.
The carpet in the room is not very clean.
I booked two rooms and requested they be adjoining, as travelling with a baby and my mother. I received a confirmation that this was accepted. Upon checkin we were advised that our rooms were on different floors. I advised that I had received confirmation so the reception staff went to check. Reception advised that I had booked a luxury room and only the standard rooms were adjoining. I advised that I needed adjoining and after what seemed like a hassle the request was accommodated. There was no offer of a refund of money for the rooms. Luxury was city views, with better amenities, standard was a carpark! I then asked how would I be compensated and the Duty Manager offered breakfast on the Monday. I advised that we were leaving the hotel early but was not offered anything else. I discussed this with my husband and he was not happy so I approached Reception again. One staff member looked me up and down and had a smirk on his face. I work in Hospitality so I know what he was thinking! I asked for a refund of money but was refused and all that could be offered was breakfast. I would have been better off booking an apartment for less than this Hotel. Have stayed at the Sofitel many times over the years but will not be back after this disappointing stay. Staff were arrogant, Duty Manager out of his league.
