The Price is good and the staff are accomodating
Shower, toilet, and room looks like it wasn't cleaned very well. At the back of the toilet there was dirt and a bits of toilet paper on the floor. Bottom of the shower looks like it needs a scrub. And the bar fridge was full of coke where a can had exploded and hadn't been cleaned
The location is excellent and close to everything you need. The place could be awesome if it was clean and well run.
After staying 3 nights I would have expected the shared toilets and areas to be cleaned at least once. When we arrived they were gross and there were no changes from when we left. I was lucky my family member booked a private room with ensuite as I would not have showered otherwise. Even in her room the vent above the shower was full of dust and disgusting. No extra toilet paper or anything was ever supplied. Back to the dorm room. I stayed in a 2 bed female dorm (which would have been lovely had I not been afraid to go to the toilet at night). It appeared there were homeless people that slept there after hours and it was really frightening to go to the bathroom having random creepy people sleeping on the couches. The toilets were not cleaned the entire time we were there. The rules were to remove sheets/ doonahs/ pillow cases before check out and this was when I was the most disgusted. Both the pillows I had were stained yellow and disgusting with no protection covers on them. The bed itself had black marks all over it and literally after taking everything off I was nearly sick knowing I had slept on them for 3 nights. I had booked the first night on booking.com at a good rate and when I extended the owner/ manager had the nerve to charge me more than the rate I had gotten and as he had already booked the room off I could not then book it myself again online. He had no problem to give the same rate to my family member she had got online for the private room which was odd apart from the fact that he insisted if he did so we give a good review. Working in tourism I have no respect for this type of behavior. When I brought up the issue with the homeless people sleeping on the couches he was more concerned with what couch they were on then the situation and then laughed saying maybe it was time to change the codes. I do not recommend for a female alone unless you are in a private room with ensuite.
Room was lovely, balcony view. Private bathroom.
No aircon room was hot and stuffy. Tv was small. No ladder in pool.
Close to city and transport links, pool, full kitchen to cook your own food in. Staff friendly. Not loud at night, shops and restaurants/ bars nearby.
Downstairs rooms are underground so not much natural light in them. Did find 3 small cockroaches in our room during our stay, but otherwise had a good stay.
Was a quite little hostel.
The manager was horrible. Doesn’t treat guests well. Kicks out people with no reason. Wanted to extend my stay there after first booking over booking.com but prices from manager are much higher and way too expensive for 8+ Dorms. He said he can’t give me online price, so I extended over booking. He didn’t like that and kicked me out as well.
