We had a comfortable room and large bathroom including separate bath and walk in shower. Downstairs, the lounge and bar area were very comfortable. We had intended to use the spa and pool, but were too busy talking, then walking down to the pier to do so. We were well looked after by the staff, and enjoyed both our meal and breakfast the following day.
Unfortunately our visit coincided with a storm, and gale force winds and rain lashed the large picture windows in our room, rattling the windows in their frames. This also meant that we could not open the windows, so the room was a little hot and stuffy, even though we had the radiator turned down. Parking was a bit limited, and having booked via booking.com we had to pay £8 for the privilege.
Close to town. Easy access to places. Comfy beds.
No mirrors in the room. Could do with a mini fridge. The bathroom fan is so noisy and goes on for too long.
The hotel is in a good area and close to everything. The staff are nice and reception apologetic. The spa treatments were good.
Party going on until midnight on the ground floor function room- kept us up. The managers should not book rooms above party rooms. Their argument was that it was only the first floor affected but the walls and floors are paper thin and we could hear the music and people shouting the whole time. Followed by hours of drunk people from the party making noise in the corridors and a drunk woman banging on our door at 3:30 am asking to be let it in. Bathroom lock was broken, water was yellow coming out of the tap at the start. We were next to the fire exit and the railing was broken so all night we listened to that banging in the wind. The pool showers were dirty with grime, I did not want to stand in them. Supposed to be a four star hotel, which I am stunned by because I’ve stayed in better hostels. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again - don’t be fooled by the four star rating.
Minutes away from the Beach, facilities were great,
£8 for parking an was told this was due to using booking.com.
Lovely bedroom, fantastic breakfast included in price, very pleasant staff, really good indoor pool included in price too.
Toilet door not well fitting.
