The five-star resorts are all located on the reef edge. Conrad Bora Bora Nui is located on a private island called Motu To'opua. They have a range of accommodations, including overwater villas, and also have their own private islet, Motu Tapu, which is great for romantic picnics. Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and Thalasso Spa are in a picturesque position facing Mount Otemanu, while St. Regis Bora Bora has some of the largest overwater villas in the South Pacific and offers a signature butler service. Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora also offers overwater villas as well as various couple’s activities.

Despite its reputation as a honeymoon destination, there are many options for family-friendly accommodation across the island. Le Bora Bora Pearl Resort has loads of activities to keep the kids entertained, such as tennis, ping pong, petanque, kayaking and snorkelling. Oa Oa Village is great for families and has a pool and trampoline onsite. Villa Yrondi and Blue Heaven Island are also family friendly, and so are the bigger resorts like Four Seasons Bora Bora and The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort.

There are some accommodation options that are more economical. Most of these are located in or near Vaitape. Tiki House is a holiday home with air-conditioned rooms, a private pool onsite and a terrace, and it is near some good hiking spots. Other options on this great island include Studio Coquet A Bora Bora, a one-bedroom unit in Tiipoto; Rahei Location3, in the centre of the island; and 2 Bedrooms Condo with Swimming Pool, towards the north of the island, near Hitia’a.
