We also appreciate the fact that though we arrived 5 hours earlier from the check in time, our room was ready and that was really convenient for us. Pros: Super location, just 1. Minute from Bryggen Wharf area. Super friendly helpful staff. Inclusion of Breakfast And delicious light, healthy evening meal was a great added bonus. Really comfy bed. Coffee and fresh fruit available in the very pleasant lounge - a really nice touch to come back to after exploring the delights of Bergen. This is not the Hilton but such great value - if you are wanting ultra modern and evening menu options, then this is not for you. It would be one of the best places we have stayed in over many years of travelling.

Pros: The breakfast provided by the hotel was excellent in terms of quality and variety. The "light" evening meal included was a nice compliment after feasting during lunch at the Fish Market. The location was very close to center of the city and harbor area, with everything in walking distance, including the bus to and from the airport. Also, the hotel was one street away from the main street which limited the evening noise. Our highest praise goes to the staff and their excellent service, particularly the manager, Martin. Martin handled all of our requests for directions and recommendations for dining and services with the highest level of courtesy, professionalism and friendliness. Martin added to our enjoyment of the hotel and our visit to Bergen. I recommend this hotel as a high-value option for a stay in Bergen.

Cons: It was hot so we wanted to sleep with the windows open - there is a historic area/park next door and a busy main street a block down that is quite loud with revelers and car traffic so windows needed to be closed which solved the problem.

Cons: It turned very hot the days we were there so we had to have windows open. They did have big windows to open and gave us fans. The rooms were not air conditioned. Apparently most hotels in this area of Norway do not have air.

It faced the courtyard, which would have been fine but for the fact that there were large garbage dumpsters out there and scaffolding - quiet unsightly. We upgraded our room at an additional cost and were moved to the street side, which was great.

Definitely take advantage of the view from the tower; it was a lovely addition to the stay. The evening buffet was delicious and had more choice than I was expecting. Breakfast had a large selection of the usual hotel buffet fare; I did like their smoothies; the fruit selection and variety of breads on offer.

Cons: We booked a family room, but we were traveling with an infant who needed a crib and there is not enough space with the crib in the room. The child beds in the family room fold up into the wall, because the room is that small. We literally had to move the crib every time we used the bathroom. It was not clear during booking how cramped it would be with a crib, or we would have selected a different room. We have stayed in many hotels with cribs, and are used to limited space, but this was exceptionally cramped. Just wanted to make sure other families with infants are forewarned.

Cons: The minibar in the room was not equipped. The vending machine in the lobby can be used instead which is alright for me. But when leaving the minibar in the room I would at least expect it to be working in order to be able to cool my own stuff. Instead it was disabled and dirty. Cleanliness was not good at all. We found hairs in the bathroom as well as crumbs and dust on the desk. For me, the hotel is rather 3 than 4 star. Next time I would stay somewhere else for the price.

They have trucks loading and unloading blocking the entry doors back to the hotel so you need to wiggle your way there and then a flight of stairs up to reception with your luggage. Or you can walk up the car ramp avoiding in coming cars. Once construction mess cleaned up should be better and advise to drop off luggage at side entry before parking car.

There was only one person at the front desk every time we checked in and out, around 12pm, and each time 5 guests waiting. The corridors of the hotels are dirty, old style. There is no view from both rooms we had. Some of the people at the front desk barely speak English. This hotel is such a scam and a shame.

Pros: the eggs were delicious and soft, i love runny eggs. the breakfast buffet had a lovely selection, the pancakes were especially excellent even though my girlfriend cut me off eating them even when i wanted more. the room was clean and bright, and the bed was very comfortable. not too soft and not too hard. the bathroom was clean and specious, and i liked the eco friendly soaps. we had a wonderful stay i. quiet rooms.

Cons: When you book the room, it’s not an option to choose rooms from the other building. The rooms there are poor, old, no reception, the door was open for anybody to enter at 9 pm when we arrived. The photos are from the main building. We got the option to change the room.

Cons: This property has two buildings. It was obvious we were put in the overflow building. There was no air conditioning, the decor was dated and worn out. The shower overflowed into the bathroom floor. The management should have had bottles of cold water available during the here wave in the libby of both buildings. On the positive side, it's a great location and the breakfast was nice.

Cons: Bergen was experiencing a heat wave and there was no way to escape the heat, no aircon or fans and windows that didn't open properly. Added to this, uncomfortable beds and it was almost impossible to get a good night's sleep.

Breakfast consisted of a shrink-wrapped single ham and cheese sandwich and 200 ml bottle of diluted squash, collected from the reception desk and eaten where you stood (or in the room, or street..) . The next day's "breakfast" I didn't bother collecting. No kettle or anything in the room.

Cons: The internet was terrible. Terrible in the dorms. I was told they mostly work in the lobby in one chair. I asked if they would reset it, they said they already did earlier and he'll try again. He said he's received multiple containers from guests. It was a perfectly passable semi dirty hostel and it should 100% have acceptable internet. I couldn't text in my room the wifi was so bad. It was infuriating and I left after Jen night.

Pros: I liked the location when first booking the hotel, as I thought it would be ideal given its central location. I was wrong.
Cons: There were drunks fighting in the street outside the window in which I was staying. When I asked the hotel manager that I would be happy to be paid for the night stayed, but would like to cancel my reservation for the upcoming two nights (with full refund as I paid in full in advance) she said I was stupid. The safety concerns were problem enough, but when treated so rudely and poorly by the manager of the hotel it was clear to me that this hotel will not be staying in business given its current management problems.
