Lovely decor, even better staff. Staff were kind and helpful, they always tried their best to fulfil our wants and needs. Concierge was excellent as well.
The room layout is not convvenient, and the lighting is very dim. Nothing int he hotel is exceptional except 2 doorman standing there to open the door. The breakfast is very poor relative to the amount charged, although they gave a 30% discount after my complain, it's still a poor deal. Good thing that I booked only 1 night for trial.
It is a high-end hotel with all the facilities.. the bar and the service at the bar were above expectation, the rooms, the concierge, the pool service also deserve special rewards.. thanks to them
The breakfast, too many people trying to help you end at the end it is worse. Frustration when someone with a huge smile is coming and offer you his help for a nice breakfast experience, take your order and disappear... What you receive after is for sure not what you ordered. Otherwise, the food was delicious but with the wrong info, what I ordered was overcooked etc etc.. Taking photos of a certain part of the hotel (which looked beautiful on paper and honestly was the reason I chose this hotel) was also a challenge, I understood that my room didn't allow me to access this occupied part of the hotel (should have paid more..) In such a hotel it is true as a customer I am more demanding, the front desk was helpful but depending on the person behind.. Probably I came at the wrong moment. I feel that this hotel is close to a real high-end hotel .. unfortunately when you pay the bill close is not enough .. It is a personal experience based on a small visit of 3 night so it probably not reflect the true value of this hotel.. just one experience, it probably worth another visit. but so far, very few chances that i will try again.. Even if I still want to take picture of the villa
The Waldorf Astoria Beijing is a beautiful, stylish and immaculate gem of a hotel in the centre of Beijing, only 20mins walk from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden city. Absolute luxury with enormous and comfortable beds, a huge bath and massive floor to ceiling windows. The staff are faultless and the breakfast was perfect and hugely varied. Wow. It’s not cheap but a perfect place to treat yourself to a bit of high end luxury! We stayed in a corner studio which was amazing.
Staff were friendly.
The WiFi was extremely slow. Kbps in my room which meant I couldn't do any work.
Waldorf Astoria Beijing is a luxurious oasis in the iconic Wangfujing, the heart of Beijing’s downtown business district, known for shopping and the cultural neighborhood of Siheyuan (traditional courtyard residences.) Its proximity to major banks and commercial offices make it ideal for business travelers, and the area is equally popular with leisure guests, with Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City within easy walking distance. Our hotel offers 171 spacious and luxuriously appointed accommodations in the main building, some with courtyard views and furnished terraces. For those who enjoy greater privacy and a more genteel experience, our Hutong Studios and a Hutong Presidential Suite are housed in two villas within the courtyard, in a separate wing with its own entrance. These Hutong Villas have been artfully constructed to retain original architectural details, exuding an extraordinary sense of place. Dine and entertain in our three exciting restaurants, including a modern contemporary Chinese restaurant on the 3rd Level. The hotel also offers inspiring event and meeting spaces spanning over 8,525 sq. ft. with world-class amenities and attentive service including bespoke Hutong tours, personal shopping and the therapies at the Waldorf Astoria Spa.
