The hotel is in a very central part of Banff but not on the main road, so it's very convenient. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The bed was extremely comfortable. The pool, spa and eucalyptus sauna were my favourite part of the hotel.
Despite having multiple light sources, the room was curiously dim.
The only complaint were the pillows and the comforter. Comforter will not stay on bed. Slides off. We fought it for a week. Pillows seemed very dated. Otherwise we enjoyed our room and visit to Banff.
Sunday brunch was the main reason for return visit after 20 years or so. Food is excellent as usually. Central location , walking distance everywhere.
We all know that Banff is not cheap, simply because there is nothing similar in this part of Canada. However charging $10 per day for internet access ( last time we payed for WiFi was about 10 years ago in communist Cuba) , $12 for parking, plus municipal tax, plus tourist tax, plus Parks Canada park entrance fee, plus GST on top is making things unreasonable expensive. Our room looked somewhat tired ( except renovated bathroom and sink station in front entrance area). Linens, pillows were well below expectation for this type accommodation and price. Swimming pool area supposed to be adult only after 9PM, both evenings there were kids enjoying facility well past that hour. On third evening pool was closed without any explanation. We were "greeted" with simply "checking in?" That's all. Out check out was similar with "need receipt?". Nothing else.We will not return to hotel, for Sunday brunch definitely yes.
Great location and great property! Friendly staff and excellent service!
