Agrigento hotels near Abbazia di Santo Spirito

Pros: Excepcional hotel. a truly unexpected 5 star precious jewel in the middle of Sicily. Impeccable service and staff plus great room and amenities (although we didn't use them). To be privately connected with the main Agrigento attraction adds another layer of comfort and sense of being special

Pros: The hotel is just located next to Temple Valley with a side door. We only needed to buy the tickets from receptionist and walked into the park. The rooms are neat and confortable. If you don’t like to eat inside, it’s not difficult to drive for a couple of minutes to find some good restaurants. We stayed for 2 nights and all of the family are happy to choose this hotel.

Cons: The TV set in our room is so mini.

Pros: The location is just perfect once the hotel in the limits of the garden surrounding the Valley of the Temples; there's even an exclusive gate for the guests to enter directly in the Temples area. The personel is as nice, polite and attentive as anyone could ever expect. The villa is so gorgeous that you wish you could linger your stay to the longest as possible. It certainly is more than worth spending a few days at the Villa Athena!

Cons: There's honestly nothing bad to say abou Hotel Villa Athena!!!

Pros: it's the best choice we've made for this trip. There is a private entrance for hotel guest to archeological site which means you don't need to buy tickets for site. IF you want to visit museum, you can buy a spearate ticket for musuem. The location of hotel is perfect, you can see the greek temple from hotel and it makes feel like you are living in hellenistic age.

Cons: The pool and restaurant are closed because now it's now peak season.

Pros: Service was outstanding and the location was great for seeing the Valley of the Temples and not getting into a lot of traffic issues. Food at the hotel was outstanding! Room was very nice with great view.

Pros: 5 min from the valley of temples, great service, good hotel restaurant, free parking, comfortable fitness room.

Cons: The room was a bit old, shower head needed to be replaced.

Pros: Good location. Average breakfast. Paying extra for a view of the valley from the room may have been worth it

Pros: Unbelievable view of the valley of the temples and the Med. Good trattorias nearby and parking included. Comfortable room and very helpful staff

Pros: Great location. Near a few restaurants although we eat in the hotel restaurant. Great views of the valley of the temples as that was the reason we were in Agrigento. Breakfast was good and so was the dinner the night before. Staff were friendly.

Cons: The safe in the room is tiny and could even half our gadgets and documents. It doesn't have the code pad and uses a key which you don't seem to get at check-in so, in the end, looking at the size of the safe and the size of our camera and laptop we ended up just carrying those in our backpack at dinner and breakfast instead of having to go back to reception to get a key for what was already a small safe.

Pros: I liked the beautiful common areas, dining room and gardens with view of temples. It was late December and not overly crowded.

Cons: The staff needed more updated information about access to the temples. They directed us to walk to the nearby archaeological museum, which we did, and then to take a special pedestrian pathway to the temples. They didn’t know, and the museum staff told us, that the special pedestrian pathway from the museum to the temples is closed in winter. The museum staff advised against walking along the regular road for cars, saying there was no sidewalk and it was quite dangerous. They advised returning to the Colle Verde Hotel and taking our car to the temples. We lost some time having to go back for our car, and let the hotel staff know that their information was incorrect. They apologized and said the archaeological site had not informed them of the seasonal closure of the pedestrian path. This was the only inconvenience we experienced. Otherwise our stay was very pleasant.

Pros: Everything else was great: service, cleanliness and location (able to walk to the Valley of the Temples).

Cons: In-house restaurant had limited menu,. although we recognize we stayed in the offseason. Also, wifi didn't work well in our 3rd floor room.

Cons: Our bed wasn't comfortable at all. We both woke up with a sore back. Apart from that everything else was good

Pros: It was close to the Templi. Breakfast was ok. They also recommended a restaurant that was fine.

Cons: We were misinformed about having two beds and to add insult to injury they charged us 25€ per night because of the “superior room”! One of us had to sleep on a sofa-bed twin size.

Pros: Staff very helpful, breakfast is reasonable. Overall it's fine just a little bit dated, but that is part of the charm of the place.

Pros: Location centre of town and close to buses and trains, making it easy to visit sea side town and tourist attractions.

Cons: Hotel room old and dingy, bed head loose and beding hard. Shower small and water leaked onto bathroom floor.

Pros: excellent situation, room with a balcony and a view of the temples and the sea, excellent value for the price.

Cons: I could hear somebody snorring in the room next to mine.
