Tea/Coffee making facilities would have been much appreciated.
Great macro-location (near the busiest area of Venice), but also great micro-location (located straight off the Rialto bridge). This micro-location is so important because Venice is a crazy maze to navigate your way around. The streets are small and staggered making it exhausting to follow directions and even more exhausting to remember where you are. The fact that the property is located straight off the bridge makes it so much easier to run right into it. Otherwise if your place is even one street over, you'll spend an extra 10 minutes to find each time. Yes...Venice is that crowded/confusing. Once inside, there are lots of stairs and no elevator. We got the top floor which can be a pain for some people. Room and bathroom is really comfortable. Most Venice places are super expensive and small...ours was similar but felt just fine. We are very happy for the price. We enjoyed the Venetian decor although would never want our homes looking like that. Hahahaha.
Location could not be better. All the cites are 10 -max 20 min away. 30 min away on foot from the train station. Download the map before you arrive. Venice is a maze of streets and canals with blind alleys and streets ending with stairs going down to the canal. Very easy to get lost. I read someone's review where the author said that air conditioner did not work. Ours worked perfecly well. 18th century styled furniture in the room added to the mood of the trip. A place like this in very center of Bangkok would be 40 dollars. This was 125 euros total per night. But that is what you get if you want to live in the center of Venice.
Small fridge with no freezer: nowhere to keep ice for drinks. No glasses. We had to buy plastic galsses in the store. Very tight shower booth. A bit wider than a coffin. No elevator. Make sure you have a phone with you that works. We did not find it ourselves. Called them and they picked us up at the Disney Store. HOW TO GET THERE: When you come down from Rialto Bridge keep walking straight. You will see a statue of the guy who wtrote Pinocchio to your left. keep walking across this little square into the hole in the wall in front of you. When the wooden beams above your head end, look up and you will see the hostel red sigh. The door is right beneath it.
No staff on duty at night. Only for check in and check out
