Top tips for hiring a car at Tijuana Rodriguez airport
Two major advantages of getting a car rental at Tijuana Rodriguez Airport (TIJ) are convenience and flexibility. In contrast to traditional public transportation options like buses and trains that follow fixed schedules and routes, renting a car from one of the Tijuana Rodriguez Airport car rental companies would allow you to drive to your destinations on your own departure timings and routes. Some of the destinations to consider visiting with your rented car are Avenida Revolución, the Tijuana Wax Museum, and Parque Morelos.
If you plan to get a car rental at Tijuana Rodriguez Airport (TIJ), take note of the minimum age requirements. Most Tijuana Rodriguez Airport car rental companies have adopted 21 as their minimum age limit for renting a car with no maximum age limit. You should, however, note that some car rentals such as Hertz, Avis, ACE, and Enterprise have adopted a young driver’s surcharge for drivers aged between 21 and 24. They may also limit the type and models of cars young drivers can rent to include only compact, economy, and minivans.
To ensure a smoother rental experience with more options to choose from, it's advisable to plan your visit to the car rental counters at Tijuana Rodriguez Airport (TIJ) on normal weekdays. During major holidays like Easter (Semana Santa) and weekends, there are often long queues at the car rental counters, resulting in frustrating delays. Additionally, the high demand during holidays and weekends may lead to limited availability of car types and models. At times, the onsite car rental at Tijuana Rodriguez Airport (TIJ) may also increase their car rental charges based on the high demand.
If you intend to return your rented car from Tijuana Rodriguez Airport car rental companies urgently, maybe due to the emergency that forces you to cut short your vacation in Tijuana, take advantage of the after-hour return policy that has been adopted by most car rental companies including Avis, Enterprise, and Hertz. The policy allows you to return your rented car outside your Tijuana Rodriguez Airport car rental company’s regular operating hours. You should, however, remove all your belongings, record the fuel and mileage levels, drop a copy of your car rental agreement on the driver’s seat, lock the car, and drop your keys in the designated after-hour drop box.
Book your car hire at Tijuana Rodriguez airport at least 2 weeks before your trip in order to get a below-average price

I booked a 5-day for $62 as advertised. When i went to pick up they demanded a non-refundable $2,500 deposit. I said but that's more than a mortgage payment. I canceled and called Kayak to refund. Neither Mexrentcar nor Kayak agreed to refund $62. I eventually rented from Hertz at $280 with a refunded $431 deposit.

The car was pretty beaten, the brakes made a high pitched noise when you pressed them. E-V-E-R-Y single time.
Full of surprises, they take me out the airport zone to an office where they told me that i need to pay a lot more in insurance REALLY A LOT MORE, then I refused cause that new price far away from the price i saw when reserved and I asked for they to take me back to the airport and they said they were too busy. I better made a walk in to HERTZ and get a car there.
My experience with hertz was fine. My experience with kayak is what I’m unhappy about. The kayak reservation didn’t go through so hertz had no record of our reservation even though we were provided a reservation number by kayak, so we had to re-reserve and luckily enough we were given A free upgrade for the inconvenience that kayak created for us on our trip.

I went to the Hertz rental place that was on the Kayak website and it wasn't the correct rental place. The place Kayak setup was in Mexico not the Untied States so I had to call Hertz to change my rental. Then the price doubles + for the rental because it was the Hertz rental at the Airport. I was not happy at all. And the car they offer me is a Dodge Journey and they are junk too many buttons in bad places, very bad design. But I take it because I am all ready leaving and hour late. No I was not happy and will look else where next time I go.

My reservation with Hertz called for the car to be picked up at San Diego Airport on Saturday at 3PM. When I got to the hertz pick up location I was told that someone had changed my pick up location to another Hertz office on the US side of Tijuana, Mexico, some 30 to 40 minutes away from the airport. Furthermore, there was no shuttle service to the alternate location. This was unsatisfactory to me and did not meet my requirements. As a result, I was forced to rent with some "no name" agency that normally services high risk customers. The rental from them was significantly more expensive, the car, although it ran well, had over 220,000 miles, had numerous scratches, a cracked windshield, worn upholstery and the cruise control didn't work. Furthermore, one of the tires kept leaking air and I had to put air in it on 3 different occasions. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Hertz or KAYAK nor will I use them in the future.

Way too expensive. Went with personal car sharing for 1/2 the cost. If major companies like Hrrtz don’t adapt, they’ll be the next Blockbuster Video store
